Excellent job by the Move Crew in moving my furniture from one apartment to another. I wasn't sure what to expect (having never moved so many items before), but for my first move I'm glad I chose these guys. They certainly made the overall experience a LOT easier than it would otherwise have been ... particularly when it involved moving from a 2nd floor apartment in one building to a 3rd floor apartment in another building (neither of which contained elevators). On the morning I was due to move (with my dad's help), the Move Crew (3 guys) showed up around 7:20 AM. Once I showed them the specific items I had requested to be moved, and pointed out which ones were more fragile and needed special care, they lost no time in carrying stuff down. They were very careful with each item, binding the heavier furniture with plastic wrap and cushioning it with thick cloths. The more fragile items they handled gently, which gave me confidence in their skills. All of this was done with good humor and patience, as well as efficiency. Even when I thought of additional heavy items that they could carry, they good-naturedly took them in stride, and carried them off with no questions asked. And all within the space of an hour! Getting to the other building didn't take long - and neither did the Move Crew's unloading of my furniture. They put each piece wherever I requested, and diligently kept hauling up and down stairs until the task was done. They were meticulous with the heavier items, and paced themselves so that they would not tire out too fast or fumble and drop anything. At the end, they gave me a bit of a discount, and charged me a fair price for a little under 3 hours of moving. In the end, I feel that the move was accomplished very successfully. My furniture suffered no wear and tear, the movers were friendly and polite, and they did not neglect anything in my order. The office staff seem top-notch and responsive, but the actual crew who performed the move were average at best. Crushed lamp, dirt smears on mattress (which was even bagged before they arrived, but they handled it that carelessly), a gouge in a hallway wall, many small scratches on things that should have been wrapped but were not. They pretty grossly overestimated the time it would take them to drive back to their location, in effect charging me as much as possible. I paid for haul-away disposal of two large items, and they instead dumped them downstairs (as in, never even put them in the truck) in an area with large signs specifically prohibiting the dumping of furniture. I appreciate how quickly I was refunded the disposal fees once this came to light, but nobody needs that frustration when they're moving. I didn't see the dumped furniture or the hallway damage until after they'd left, so I regret tipping as much as I did. One of the crew even tried the offhand "man, I forgot my wallet - looks like I'm not having lunch today" line... (eyeroll). I hope they spent the tip on acting lessons. read more

The Move Crew helped us move across the Twin Cities from Saint Paul to Minneapolis. They were easy to get in contact with, provided a reasonable quote, they were very efficient day of, and the final price stayed within the quote they sent. The team very carefully wrapped and moved our furniture with no issues at all. They were even able to get an oversized dresser up a difficult staircase. WOW, WOW, WOW! I cannot rave about these guys enough. Professional, easy to set up a moving time, took great care of our belongings. Not only were they friendly and nice, they went above and beyond our original plan to move. Due to a last minute fiasco, we ended up needing all of our apartment moved into a storage unit (3x the amount of stuff they were supposed to take). Update (from 5 stars to 2) I've now used the Move Crew 4 times and unfortunately, that's it for me. Less than professional experience a couple of months ago that included one of the crew asking me to borrow my iPhone cable to charge his phone (yes, it got left behind which screwed me later at my new place), another crew member playing misogynistic hip hop most of the time, scratches and dents. I didn't feel the crew was very aware of how they were leaving the place - they stacked heavy boxes that were over my head (for instance) and left plastic wrap on items, etc. It also took longer than it should have all together. It wasn't cheap, so I'm not very happy. It's too bad because I like the owner and communicated this to him in person, as well. Oct 2016 - Excellent service from start to finish. Great communication and email confirmations, payment options. My POD wasn't going to arrive on time, so I was able to reschedule (within their guidelines, 48 hours I think) and it didn't cost me anything to change the date/time. They went the extra mile to set up my sleep # bed from scratch (deflated for long-term storage) and were very pleasant, trustworthy and easy to work with. The were careful with my vintage furniture and everything else. The next time I have to move, these guys will be my first choice. Thank-you!!!! read more

This was an awesome experience. I have so much stuff and wasn't about to put my dad and family through another huge move for me, so did my research and went with these guys. Took about 3 hours with 3 guys...granted I was only moving down the street, but still pretty impressive given the amount of furniture and boxes. Even though I started packing over a week in advance and thought this would be my most organized move yet, of course I was still scrambling and stressed move day morning. I hired The Move Crew for a 1.5 hour job. They have a min 2 hour charge like everyone else, but they don't have a ridiculous "trip charge" so their rates end up being the best I could find for the short time period. I had weighed all of my options when I was relocating to from St. Paul suburb to Des Moines. I chose the Move Crew because of their professionalism when Riku came to do the walk through and estimate. Because of some unforeseen circumstances in Des Moines I needed to reschedule but I wasn't allowed because the were booked. So I moved all of my belongs to Des Moines, I had to rent a storage unit because the unforeseen issue was that I didn't have a place to move to. I was scrambling and it just didn't work out. Gunnar and Riku are the only 2 that seem to actually care. The rest of the crew while nice didn't seem to pay attention to direction. I must have told them several times on items that were staying but ended up in the truck moved. They packed last minute items but didn't label anything. I had them pack the 50" TV. The base was not in the box and I still haven't found the remote. The packing of their truck was a mess. When they packed the storage unit. Furniture was put on top of boxes. Boxes were upside down. The weights for my grandfather clock where not in the box I put them in and just left on another box. I would not recommend them for any move. They also left used plastic wrap tubes all over. They didn't listen to simple directions and didn't ask questions. I ended up having to leave a few things behind because they kept adding to the pile of things that I was going to take. You know what, mistakes happen. Somehow my appointment was not recorded in the books, so no one showed up. I called the office & Riku was extremely apologetic. He was able to get a crew out to me within the hour & everything worked out completely fine. Sam & Kevin worked fast & efficiently. Nothing was damaged whatsoever. We used The Move Crew to move from a 2 bedroom duplex to our new house. They were very easy and friendly to work with during the booking process. They arrived on time and basically never stopped moving. All of our items were handled with care, even some of our old beat up furniture from years past was treated with the same care of our nicer pieces. Make sure you read the emailed contact. And ask as many questions as possible for a clear understanding. I was in the middle of a remodel of a rental property and my own personal move at the same time. Emailed for an ESTIMATE. I reiterated that I have 6 items to move. Which would take an hour including drive time. Got a voicemail, I called back, she wanted to confirm that I only had six items email sent with a estimate, I callled back again for clarity spoke with a different rep since the previous rep was on the line. Moving time is in the essence, He mentioned that he could help. Again, How much do you charge per hour and are there any other hidden charges with that? I was told no, made the reservation under the impression that I was only paying for an hour. Contact was then sent, I did not read it until today of the move once the move was completed. Now if you know that it's 2 hour minimum, tell the customer your services are less that our minimum. So expect to pay XYZ. Which will allow me to make an informed decision. In a move people do not have time to read emails. That's why I called back for clarity. I could have used a flat rate service. Or had them move all of my remaining pieces since I had an hour left for a rate of $120 that was not being utilized. So $240 for an hour move today. Time is money I guess. Even though this was a negative experience from an operational piece. I would like to say... the two guys that moved my few items were great! read more

If you need something moved efficiently and courteously, the Move Crew is your answer. Our experience started with great communication, a prompt written estimate, and moving staff who are on-time & fun to work with. The staff had great social skills and sense of humor--but just as importantly, they hustle their butts off to get the job done fast and damage free. They reflected a respect for each other as they worked--no cranky stuff. I liked them so much I got them coffee and donuts. Starting with a discussion of Kimi Raikkonen in some fun conversational back & forth with Riku, and concluding with all our stuff safely dropped off 1,850 miles away, the whole thing really was smooth. They even adjusted the arrival date of our load [delayed] to fit our schedule. There was an intermediate stop with a drop off and pick up of additional stuff 5 miles away to start the long journey and everybody understood that wrinkle in about 30 seconds. How Riku and his partner manage to hire a bunch of millennials for his moving staff who have a massively solid work ethic is nothing short of a miracle. Are the crew all making $75,000 a year as the explanation for their great skills? No, that couldn't be it. Beats me. As an aside, back when I was hiring as a part of my job from this age group, I had a hard time finding folks [kids to me] who showed up for work on time every day and stayed focussed. I could never pull off successful HR-type hiring from that age bracket, but the move crew did. You can't go wrong with these guys. read more

The entire encounter in early December, 2015 with The Move Crew was first rate. From the initial phone conversation, to the move day, everything was smooth and exactly as discussed. Not one scratch or dent, and everything was wrapped with care and speed. This move involved two different houses -one with an elevator and long walk, and another on the 2nd floor with no elevator.
