Got the job done exactly in the estimated time frame. The only hitch was some parts from a piece of furniture that accidentally got left behind in the truck- the team sent me a message telling me it was there and Jayne eventually delivered the parts, which was amazing. The crew was fast and efficient, the crew chief was a hands on take charge guy. Pricing was reasonable for a 3 person crew. They were on time, respectful, nothing lost or broken. Very good local mover that we used to move our 90 year old parents from one senior facility to another. Even though a small job, it required two separate short moving dates and trips to a family members house, multiple donation sites, and landfill. Service was prompt, staff were pleasant, and the price was reasonable. read more

It was a hot miserable day and they called to say they were running late. That was ok and appreciated. They called when they were 20 miles away and arrived smiling, friendly, and energetic- amazing! If you live in an apartment building, they will prop open secure doors. Despite being very directly asked not to do this, did it anyway. Leaving a secured door wide open for almost 4 hours. Nobody responded in regard to my concerns. So disappointing. They were given fobs for the doors! And chose not to use them and prop instead. read more

This was our 2nd move using Nystrom. The entire process can be summed up with one word, SMOOTH! From the initial contact through the entire process, our expectations were exceeded. We hired Nystrom Moving to move a king-sized bed + split box spring from a friend's house to ours. They were on-time, friendly, and efficient, and even helped us move our old bed down the stairs. We were super pleased. They were also (by far) the lowest price that we were quoted. My only reason for not giving them all five stars, is that it was difficult to get ahold of Jayne after the initial quote to schedule. I think she's holding down the fort mostly by herself, but it was a little disconcerting to leave several messages and not get a prompt call back. Otherwise, really extremely pleased. A three person team showed up on-time and ready to roll. They were very organized, efficient, and the lead guy was a great communicator. They staged the moving areas well and though they were quite a bit more expensive than the next group I looked at, my thought was that it was worth it for things not to be broken during a cross-country move (they were loading only). They did not use the ratchet straps I made available, as they felt very confident things were in there tightly. I would agree - there was very little shifting. When I arrived at my destination (19 hour drive) - almost everything was intact. There was a coffee table that was stacked on top of that was pretty well decimated. Other than that, no issues. So four stars to account for a piece of damaged furniture and the high price, but very reliable and would use again. read more

I will definitely recommend this company, I am a single woman, I am super sheepish to ask friends for help (I hate 'owing' people) and this is the third (local) moving company I have used. Nystrom movers helped me out on Jan 2018 move from a second-floor​ apartment building to a second-floor​ storage room. For me, they were professional, courteous​, on-time and respectful. I told them I was on a budget and I couldn't afford to go over the quoted time. I was helping the entire time and we finished ahead of schedule. I was pretty flustered and stressed (moving and making sure they didn't go over so I had to pay extra... like with past companies) and they did reassure me everything was going to be OK. I will be looking to book them again when I return to Minnesota, the one downfall of​ the company is that, at least for me, they are hard to get ahold of... you have to follow up with them. ...I will post again after my round two this summer with Nystrom Movers. read more

If I could give a minus rating I would. In all of my years of moving, this was the most horrendous experience the moving crew were given incorrect information by the company owner. There were up charges that we had not been informed of; movers were careless with valuable fragile items in clearly marked boxes, and to make it even worse, they did not finish the job. when I asked the lead if two very large antique were wrapped, he said yes and that they were already in the truck. They were not. The next day, we had to rent our own truck to move the mirrors, the art work and a lot of other stuff that they left in the basement. Hire at you own risk. read more

These three men, Mike, Anthony and one more who was always downstairs unloading the truck were the most professional movers I have seen in years. They were careful of my sister's furniture and assisted in setting up her home. We're three sisters that can no longer move furniture on our own but what we have we cherish and they did to. Nystrom Moving was my first experience with professional movers. I decided that now that I am in my thirties, and honestly too tired and cranky to move my boxes myself, I seek the expertise and muscles of some hired guns. I called Nystrom on the recommendation of a friend of mine. I also called a few other companies which were also recommended, but Nystrom was definitely the nicest, cheapest, and most calmly professional of the bunch. Joe and his partner showed up 5 minutes early at my finicky mom's house to pick up a couch. One stop of three. They took the time to brush off their shoes and placed blankets on surfaces that they MIGHT make contact with. They then threaded a HUGE awkward couch down a split level stairway like a 2 pros and never even touched any walls, rails, or bookshelves which were part of the obstacle course, I mean layout of the house. After that we hightailed it down to a storage area where my life was quietly existing in rubbermaid containers and bankers boxes. They took the care to wrap my few furniture items (and one family heirloom wood secretary about 120 years old) very carefully and moved quickly and efficiently, but also with care for my items. After that we went to the the apartment. In and out in under 25 minutes. I had a few things in my car and they carried those in as well. I still had some time that was part of the minimum, and Joe offered to put my bed together for me. OFFERED! VOLUNTEERED! MADE MORE WORK FOR HIMSELF! And they were once again quick and efficient, but careful. Go team. Friends are useful but unreliable. This company was AWESOME and I highly recommend. Gave them a tip because they deserved it. Made a stressful move painless and easy. Also felt totally safe and comfortable with the two guys. No sketchy moving guys here! read more

I've used Nystrom movers more times than I care to admit. Whether it was our own home, or helping disburse an estate across multiple homes in the Twin Cities, Nystrom has always done wonderful work. Scheduling is a breeze. The team always shows up on time, in good spirits, and ready to work. They've dealt with a king size foam mattress that became unbendable in the cold and needed to be hoisted over a loft with a rope. They've removed doors to deliver a leather covered sofa sleeper safely through a tight entry. We have NEVER had damage, or breakage in any of our multiple moves with Nystrom. If we needed packing materials, or help packing, Nystrom has always had an affordable solution for us. Without hesitation, I highly recommend Nystrom. read more

Very reasonable rates. The two movers (driver Toby and helper) were efficient, professional and careful with furniture while moving quickly on a very cold Minnesota day. Nystrom loaded our Penske in MN. A 3 man crew showed up on time. OK. They loaded al the goods that fit in the truck. OK. We noticed before they left that an Ipod and charger last seen on a counter was gone. We figured it had been loaded. OK. Upon on loading in AZ we found no Ipod, no charger. We also found a leg had been broken off an antique desk and taped to the desk bottom. It's been over 6 months and there are other small electronics that we have not yet found. This move was a short-notice move to close out my father's apartment and move things to both storage and my home. Terrible experience. The person who came to provide me a quote mixed up the days and missed the first appointment. Then, was 30 minutes late to the second appointment. I was told a written quote would be sent to me that evening - it wasn't. I called and left a message the following morning to request the quote in writing and never received one. Basically, I was treated like I didn't exist. read more

The timing for our move was a little tricky based on the time of the closings for our old and new house. I called a lot of movers and most either offered some outrageously expensive option or simply refused to work with us. Nystroms right away walked us through several workable options. The day before our move we had a change in the closings and they adjusted the plan on the fly with no issues. The crew showed up on time, hustled through the work with little to no down time. They brought in an extra 2 man crew after their job for the day got canceled and they needed a 2nd truck for the my move. 6 guys moves us out and into the new house in well hunder 5 hours. They were very professional and politle and each one shook our hands offering a congrats on the new house. Nothing was damaged and they put everything exactly where we asked them to. read more

The movers were acceptable - they didn't break or damage anything, but they were the slowest professional movers that I have ever used. I was the first move of the day, and they arrived 30 minutes late. The reason that they gave was that they had to make several bathroom breaks on the drive (from St. Paul to downtown Minneapolis). When they arrived they moved very slowly, and ended up taking almost twice as long as I had been quoted. I found out toward the end of the move that their afternoon job had been cancelled, so this seemed a bit suspicious that they may have completed the move in a more timely fashion had their afternoon job not been cancelled. I understand that it is not easy work, but when I am paying by the hour I would have appreciated the crew showing some effort to move quickly. read more

Nystrom Moving is AMAZING. They moved my grandparents' entire house from Prescott, Wisconsin, to Kansas City, Missouri (with two stops in Des Moines to drop off half the load and pick up some additional furniture). After driving seven hours, they worked their tails off and even stayed to show us how to put together some of the complicated furniture they had taken apart to move. We had Joe, Keith, and Andre on our move and I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to move. I wish our previous experiences with moving companies in Kansas City had been half this positive. Now I'm just bummed we don't live in the Mpls/St. Paul area, because if we did, we'd use this company for every move! read more
