My wife and I used this service last year when we purchased our house. We were sent 3 of the laziest people I have ever seen, they could not cube out a van to save their lives. My brother-on-law moved 3 trailers full of stuff, going back and forth from Hugo to Blaine before they even got to my house the first time, we all left at the same time. I think they were intentionally slow so they could charge us 4x's the amount quoted to me for an entire day (which is only 4 hours for them). They also broke multiple items, even with their "insurance" I was not reimbursed for anything. I also had to have them correct the contract 5 times before they actually got it correct. This company is horrible, if I could give them negative stars I would. This company is so crooked they are a circle! Response: your crew did not take an unpaid lunch break, it was included in the time they added to my bill at the end. They also very much pressure me to tip them because, as they put it, "This company does not pay us very well." Not only was I quoted roughly $1500, and it ended up costing me almost $5K for the service, I ended up tipping them because they know where I live and I didn't want anything to happen to my wife, and your crew took more breaks than they actually worked. I had an extremely TERRIBLE experience with College Muscle Movers and would never even consider using them again. I used them to move a couch into a 2nd floor duplex and they sent 2 inexperienced movers who appeared to have never moved a couch before. They had the couch wrapped in moving blankets and plastic which added inches of extra bulk and making it much more difficult to fit through the doorway. They also did not remove the legs on the couch until we suggested it. The movers banged up the entry door and door frame trying to fit the couch through (which the landlord had to repaint). Additionally, they had to have a handyman come out and remove an overhead light fixture, which they also charged extra for. The original estimate was for $279. I paid them an additional $380 on the day of the move for the extra time it took them to figure out how to get the couch into the house, and was then billed another $140 for the handyman. So, a total of $799 to move a used couch 5 miles across town! I would have been better off buying a new couch. Totally unprofessional movers and horrible customer service!! read more

I used CMM twice. The first time was a good experience. The crew knew what they were doing and worked efficiently. A year later I used the company and had a terrible experience. The crew didn't know what they were doing. They were inexperienced carrying one box at a time. They didn't protect my furniture. They were slow. They didn't listen to directions. I complained to management and they offered a $100 towards another move. Are you serious? I paid for white glove service (almost $2k for a two bedroom apartment) and I did not receive that. Their management were not concerned about the quality of their work and responded poorly to my complaints. I will not be using them again and I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

I will not be using College Muscle Movers again. The two young men--one on his first day, one working since March--did not have the expertise and materials to make this easy move. They did not have a rubber mallet for nudging apart a bed frame, tape for plastic, or scissors. They were kind and hard-working, and they were only being paid 15.00 and 18.50 doing hard physical labor on a hot day. I ended up paying almost 400.00 (as I tipped the workers well) for a simple hour and a half move (3-4 miles) of two larger pieces of furniture. This was on top of providing the plastic moving bags, tape, scissors, drinks, etc. CMM is another large company exploiting their workers. I will support their business in the future. read more

I've used them about 8yrs ago just to load and it well. Therefore, I thought this round would be just as pleasant. Sadly, it could have been better. Pros: -1 My slot was originally at 8:30a, but with days notice I needed to start earlier, and they were able to move it up to 8am. 2- Each individual I spoke to on the phone when setting up the appointment seemed patient, was helpful, and never came off pushy like movers can (at times). 3- The 3 guys sent were overall respectful. The lead seemed to have his stuff together and knew what he was doing, the other two (who he said were newer) weren't as efficient, but again respectful. Cons: 1- Service was from 8a-11a for the equivalent of a studio. 2- They came 15mins late, the commute between the two locations should have been 15mins but ended up being 30 because they had to stop for gas. Unfortunately when they arrived a garbage truck was now blocking the loading dock so that added another 10mins, and another 5-10mins was lost because toward the end of the job I went to my car and when I returned the lead mover was just standing outside the unit because "the door was locked", which it wasn't. He just didn't use his muscle to push open. So in all, over 45mins of wasted time, which costed me. 3- When I questioned their timing, I was told it's because I had a lot of boxes. To be fair, I did, but they were mainly smaller boxes (like for shipping). If anything i think they dragged their feet to milk the time which is very unscrupulous. 4- Their failure to used a door stopper in the beginning resulted in the unit door being scratched, which one guy tried to convince me was there before . FALSE! Anyway, the damage was shared with CMM, but there was never follow-up. Ultimately, maintenance repainted it. 5- Despite boxes being labeled for the rooms they belonged in, they paid little attention. For example those for kitchen in bedroom. 6- I ended up having to help move the dresser since it wasn't placed where I requested. By the time it was realized 2/3 of guys were at the truck and lead asked if I could help. Since I was paying for the service I would have rather not, but it was easier than having to do it alone later. Perhaps I should send them an invoice. 7- Before they took off, I wanted to just to take a peak at the back of the truck to ensure nothing was left behind. The reception to that request was odd. I mean whats the big deal?! Ultimately I went and ensured. 8- In all the delays costed me and I paid about $300-$400 more than anticipated. Funny thing is the lead kept stressing the whole gratuity thing at the end. I gave them each $20 and the look I got seemed like it wasn't enough. It instantly left me wishing I had given ZERO. My last thing which is more of a suggestion, CMM should consider investing in tees or some branded merch for their staff. Having guys show up in sneaker, crocs, and street clothes really didn't provide a professional look which yes, is possible for movers. read more

Very disappointed that my 1,300sqft home with no dressers, end tables, coffee table, dining room table, night stands did NOT fit in a 26' truck. I paid over $2K and had to make many trips back to my house to move the rest of my items. Would not recommend....the estimate was up to $1,100 and was charged over $2k. I was a previous customer of CMM and recommended them on several occasions to neighbors and friends. I would not do so in the future. My estimate was shockingly off. I was honest about the inventory I had and about the locations I was moving to. However, the move took several more hours than the estimate. Just be aware that your move may end up costing you hundreds of dollars more than the estimate and they either aren't being honest about the time it will actually take or they're very bad at estimating the time it will actually take. They will not do anything to fix the error on their end afterwards. read more

The truck they brought was too small because they didn't come out and look at what we had before hand. So to avoid taking two trips our furniture was shoved into this small truck. They cracked a dining chair in half literally, scratched my very expensive hutch, and my white sofa wasn't even wrapped and now it has black marks all over it. And the insurance policy they sold us covers none of the items but why would they tell me that. It was useless. Just a JOKE. They went in my fridge looking for water which was beyond invasive and just strange. Manager doesn't want to listen to the paying customer and cuts you off mid sentence to recite his speech that's written for him. So rude and frankly a bully. They don't care at all. Everything went so smoothly as far as scheduling, and I feel like College Muscle Movers has a flexible reschedule policy in case something comes up. I appreciated that as the deposit is pretty hefty. The crew that helped us move was FANTASTIC. I can't believe how professional and hard working these young men were. They worked their absolute butts off and we would not have been able to move without them. Very minimal damage to a couple items, but that's expected when moving and there likely would have been even more damage had we moved the items ourselves. Buyer Beware! Absolutely horrible experience. (See a sampling of pictures of damage to my walls and the gross dirty hand prints this guy was leaving on my doors.) I hired this group on 11/20 for one-hour to shift furniture in my house following a remodel. I was quoted $147 for one hour. I knew I could use them for one-hour and perhaps longer, if needed. After 30 minutes of these guys wrecking my house and asking for constant direction and then asking for me to check their work, I fired them and asked them to leave. I hired professional movers so I wouldn't have to be involved and I certainly didn't respond well to them yelling up and down the stairs, while I was working. Instead of taking twin boxsprings (x2) and one king mattress out the walk-out basement, around the house and up the large, open staircase in the entry, they opted to take these pieces up a staircase from the basement to main level, gashing up the walls and ceiling. They admitted to the damage and said they would file a claim. I was told it would take a week or two for them to arrange repair. We had guests coming in on 11/24 so my husband mudded, sanded and painted the walls and ceiling they gashed up. I asked for a refund, they offered me $30 for my trouble. I declined the $30, asked for a refund again and for Joe's manager to call me. Joe called back said "his manager" would only authorize the $30 refund. Note: their client satisfaction is only worth $30 to them. Remember your worth if you're ever thinking of hiring this group. Your worth is $30. I fired them after 30 minutes, you would think they could refund at least half. Additionally, they said I set them up for failure. Who says that about a client? The worst! Go elsewhere! read more

4 items were damaged including a hole in a wall. The supervisor suggested I not make a claim. A bookcase was scratched, the stand of a mirror was broken, and a chair broken. They never fixed anything and are going to give me $92 for all the damage. I do not recommend them! read more

Scheduled a cross-country move with them and it was difficult every step of the way. College Muscle Movers staff dropped a box in front of me and broke items, then broke a table in front of me. I do not know what happened when I wasn't looking. They only sent 1 man to move a 2-story, 3-bedroom, 2-bath house. The other person placed stickers on each box/item and wrote each item down on pieces of paper. It was the least efficient process that can exist. They do not have software to aid this process nor do they have tracking or any other way to be accountable or even accurate with your items. They contract with National Van Lines who was 3 weeks late with my shipment, could never tell me where the truck was (not once), and ended up sub-contracting at least 2 or 3 other moving companies. It was never communicated that all of my possessions would exchange hands in multiple states with multiple companies. My items arrived damaged, from a butcher block island, to lamp shades, to glasses within the boxes. Everything that could be damaged seemed to be. I worked with Jason as a moving consultant who was misinformed, provided conflicting information from Natl Van Lines, and did not educate on the process. Cam/Cammy and a mover came over. Cam painstakingly placed stickers on each box while one man moved 98% of all items in my house. This is, in effect, only sending one person out to move a house full of items. Terribly inefficient. And again, the man doing all of the literal heavy lifting dropped a box in front of me with glass items in it, and dropped a table and broke a part of it. Never and I mean NEVER use College Muscle Movers for ANY of your services! They broke my $800 dining room table and my $500 coffee table and are refusing to pay for any damages, even though I had insurance to protect my belongings! One mover pooped in my bathroom and left stain all over the toilet seat and stains inside the toilet. I had an appointment with them today to look at the damages they caused, they never showed up and they never even called to tell me they weren't coming. Now they are saying they can't help me any further because I was cussing. The level of disrespect I feel right now is unbelievable! Absolutely sick to my stomach. Update: Dan (the service manager) told me that the movers swore up and down that they were both carrying the dining room table at each end and that they were properly carrying the table and that it was not their fault that the table broke. Unfortunately for them, I have video footage proving this was a lie. Attached are screenshots of how they were REALLY carrying the table. You tell me if this is how you properly carry a table and tell me if you see two movers carrying each end of the table legs. Dan told me to make a claim but that the claim would go back to him and he will deny it. I don't want you to think I move a lot. I really don't. However, I'm old enough, and out of shape enough, to know when you need to "phone a friend". I have used College Muscle Movers a few times during my 26+ years in Minnesota. I'm sure the last College Muscle Movers I used years ago have graduated and moved on in their careers. This time, I had the pleasure of working with Anthony and Sam. Let me just tell you that these guys rock! They were awesome. So professional, so respectful, and so helpful. I'm sure you don't want to hear about the drama surrounding my move (if you do, you can message me), but I had about a month to pull my stuff together to move. Of course, I didn't get everything packed and the day Anthony and Sam came out to help me was when good ol' Mother Nature decided to have the weather drop in Minnie-soda. But the weather didn't have an impact on the guys. Because I moved out of state, they only helped load my rental truck. They did all the heavy lifting by moving my bigger furniture. Anthony and Sam also helped with some of the bigger boxes. Unfortunately, I ran out of small boxes, so the buff guys had to lift medium-sized boxes filled books. I felt so bad for them because no one like to have that done to them. But they said it was no problem for them. When they got the furniture loaded into the truck, we headed over to my storage unit, where they helped with some bins and boxes. Anthony and Sam truly were amazing and lifesavers. I did most of my move by myself and it was great to have their help for part of it. I did them the courtesy of contacting them to warn them of a possible covid exposure in my home that I found out about on moving day. Initially they told me this would be a cancellation, they would keep my deposit, and not let me put it towards a reschedule. After a few hours they agreed- but I had to agree to more people and only having them for two hours. Those movers screwed up EVERYTHING. They put things for the first floor- which had labeling stickers on them- on the second floor. They left my mattress at the old house and claimed I told them to despite THREE notes telling them to bring it and where to put it. they tore about my couch and left it in an upturned heap in the middle of the livingroom. They left my front door hanging wide open and let my cat out of a room I'd sealed off and put a big note on telling them there was nothing they needed to move in there. Every communication from them since then has been rude, insulting, defensive, and refusing to address anything I say. When they can't justify why something went so wrong they make nonsensical and irrelevant claims that have nothing to do with what I'm saying, and then move to threats. I had to pay several hundred extra dollars to another company just to fix the massive mess they left- a situation they continue to say is because they were in a hurry. I don't see how moving furniture upstairs unnecessarily is a time saver. They want everything to be pristine, easy, and wont so much as use a screwdriver to move a piece of furniture. I once used them for my business and had an ok time but I will NEVER use them again. If you want to actually have a mattress in your new home, don't use them. The problem with this company is that you're paying a professional rate for a bunch of college kids. But I went with them based on their great reviews. I was thorough in my inventory and prepared when they arrived (on time). But my 5.5 hour estimate turned into a 9.25 hour move. Fine. The guys worked hard. My frustration came later--I've included pictures of how the truck was packed (it's amazing nothing broke). Then, I was charged an additional $300+ dollars because not everything fit and they needed to use a second vehicle. And even with a second vehicle, they didn't get everything. So after spending $2,400+ I'm still moving things in on my own. And paid and extra months rent on my storage unit because of it. So frustrating. Very bad experience with this company. They estimated 2.25 hours to move me and my partner out of our 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment. With the amount of stuff we have, I thought this was a reasonable amount of time. (Especially because when we moved into our apartment, it took the movers about 1.5 hours. Which was a different company) In the first 25 minutes, only 1 item was moved. Not only did they go over the 2.25 hours, they did not finish the job. once about half of our items were in their truck, they said "Sorry we have to get to a different job" So even though they had room in the truck, they shut the door and took off. They did not pack all of my stuff including 4 larger items that would not fit into a car. And on top of all of it, the movers left all of their tools, blankets, and saran wrap around our apartment to clean up. The next few days were filled with trips back and fourth from our old apartment to our new house - eventually we had to spend even more money on a different moving company to move our larger things. We've had some communication with the company since asking to find a resolution on the remaining balance, and they will not budge at all. They even told us "you have to pay your remaining balance in order for us to work towards a resolution".... which is obviously counter productive for us? If they would have offered some type of resolution during our communication, this would have been avoided. read more

Super nice crew, and Im happy to help students, but: Ive used them twice successfully and once very unsuccessfully. They packed a pod for a move and were slow and careless. A very expensive furniture piece was left unwrapped and padded and got a huge scratch in it when they carelessly chucked it loose into a container with a metal object. They also dropped and broke a glass TV stand. The contents were very loose, items slid despite them asking me for tons of ratchet straps which they then chose not to use. I'm not sure who is training them but I could have picked any three random people off the street and they likely would have done a better job. Their review says that they don't take claims & aren't responsible for loading containers, fine ... but the work was still careless - despite me providing all the blankets, straps, etc that they asked fo And it's simply not true that containers don't have tie downs. The brand I selected includes lashing points throughout the container. I bought 12 straps and they used 4. I bought extra blankets throughout the day as they needed them and they still managed to scratch & break stuff. read more

DO NOT HIRE. My move happened back in late 2021, and I am still dealing with this company to this date. The owners defensive responses to every negative review should also tell you a lot about the customer service of this company. STAY AWAY. TLDR: I received inadequate services that left me with a majority of my stuff back at my place. I had 2 movers for 3 hours. I lived in a 2 bed 1 bath at the time with small square footage. The movers purposefully took a majority of the time, and my S/O did more work than them both combined during the process and we unloaded everything ourselves. My credit card company sided with me that the services did not meet the expectations and they failed to do their job, and now they're threatening to send me to collections even though the case has been closed by the card company. (The chargeback was for a portion of the amount - not even the whole thing). I tried to reach a resolution pre-chargeback and they offered me $50. Which was not enough to cover the amount of work that was left unfinished. MORE DETAILS: Did not receive any call/confirmation that was supposed to be in the "What We'll Do" portion of their email. Had to call 5 times to see if my service was even arriving. Movers showed up 15-20 minutes late. I told them things I wanted prioritized and they ignored me and said "if we have time" which we ended up having an extra 30 minutes of time left, but instead of ending it early they waited until 10 minutes were left to end it (purchased in 15 minute increments) so we ended up having to pay the full amount. They wasted a lot of time and also tried to recruit my boyfriend to work for them. They were extremely unprofessional and inefficient. The customer service was awful and not flexible. We were left with a majority of the work. This company will scam you for every penny and try to make it look like your fault. They will purposefully waste time because they know they're paid by the hour and not when the job is done. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! read more

I've found their team to be trusted partners in strategizing around the most cost-efficient ways to take on complicated multi-step relocations, including not only the "typical" movement of office furniture and boxes but also the disassembly/reassembly of warehouse racking and shelves as well as split shipments between multiple end-points. We've consistently come in at or under our budget and haven't had a damaged piece along the way! Whether it's a single mover helping out with couriering pallets or a team of ten with a couple trucks making a big push to get things done, I've been impressed with the hard work and professionalism they exhibit. Additionally, we've used College Muscle's warehouse as long-term storage for some of our pallets that we don't need to regularly access. Their monthly/daily pricing is fair and accessibility in the St. Paul Midway area can't be beat. Had a good experience with College Muscle Movers. My only complaint is I wish they wrapped my couch and mattress because they are white and I paid for movers services specifically because I wanted my couch to be taken care of. Since it's winter time the sidewalks and things are wet and dirty so I wanted to make sure these things would not get dirty. Also, one of my boxes had opened while they were putting it in the bin, which was a bit concerning because all of my documents/photos were in that box. Overall, it was a good experience. I have used College Muscle Movers twice and they have done an amazing job both times. Their prices have always come in lower than other movers in the area and they have completed the job quickly, efficiently, and without damage to our home or major items. We had only one ceramic lamp that broken in our move, which was our fault due to not packing it correctly. Both times the movers were friendly, checked in with us frequently to make sure they were loading items where we wanted, and were able to get the items in one load. Additionally, quotes and booking were easy. They ask you for specific info about the number of items you have in order to assess the time, truck size, and number of helpers you need. The process was efficient and the booking assistant was helpful. Quotes are generally fairly accurate if you give them the correct info. My advice is to overestimate the number of boxes you think you'll have (both times I ended up having more boxes than I thought I would) because they can give you more accurate info that way.
