I was passing through Kelowna on a work trip and this location and golf course was near my hotel. So I decided to walk over as I was excited since I frequent driving ranges and courses. When I walked in the door, immediately I was stared at like I didn't belong there. Of course 95% of wait/hostess staff were white/white passing. I asked to sit on the patio because there was a great view. There were multiple 2 and 4 tops available. I was sat at a huge table at the very back away from the view as not to be intermixed with all the white diners that were all seated forward towards the view. I was there drinking and dining for almost 2 hours and none of those tables had diners. So the excuse that they were "reserved" isn't valid. I was gawked at by wait staff and just stared at. It was not a great feeling. When I spoke to friends and other locals of the area. They all confirmed that's exactly what was happening as they had heard the same from other people. If you're a person of color STAY AWAY. This was absolutely the most uncomfortable I felt within the entire western half of Canada. As I've gone through A LOT of cities and Provinces. I didn't event get a chance to do the driving range on the property because I was so uncomfortable with it all. I would've preferred to be turned away versus sitting there being treated this way. Locals then recommended multiple other options where I may be more accepted. Again food was tasty but seeing myself and the only other table of color being tucked away out of site truly left a horrible taste in my mouth.

First off excellent service from our lovely server Sawyer, her cheerful & professional service saved the day ... we made an online reservation but we did not know we have the option of making waterfront table ( as it was not clearly stated on the website ) upon our entrance I let the hostess know that we brought our visitor from Paris, France to experience the amazing lakeside dining and if she would kindly fit us to one of the tables right next to the water ... after a few minutes she gave us a table right outside of the dining room and told us that was the best they can do ... I totally understand she may have those tables reserved but during the whole dining experience I observed that there are at least 3 or 4 empty tables along the lake front and was not occupied ... I feel my request was being ignored and not valued ... luckily the food also saved the day along with warm Kelowna weather for our Parisian visitor!
