They always greet with such kindness and they make mini drinks that make you hooked and get the real one - sometimes you can't even get the big version of it. This korean/italian fusion is fun and really represents the food well. The way they make it balances out and it just makes total sense. The Tofu is my favorite dish and it's usually the one I start with. Their pastas are fun to get and it's very consistent. Sometimes, it's nutty and sometimes it's salty. We had a nice dinner on a cool Saturday night and generally enjoyed things. The food is a bit of a mishmash as others have said with some true Korean. (Bibimbap) and some true Italian (Gnocchi and homemade Pasta) with the rest being slight variants of both. We had the Burrata salad with greens and roasted and fresh tomatoes (nicely skinned) with Pesto, Pune Nuts and a balsamic dressing. It was beautiful but needed more salt and acid to tame down the Burrata. Still a nice salad. We split the Patate Fritte which was fried potatoes and gnocchi with a really flavorful Chipotle Mayo. The whole dish didn't work. The gnocchi were over fried and too small to eat with the much larger potatoes which were also underdone. The Tuna Poke Bowl was very nice (and a good deal) with all of the usual components. The Salmon was cooked perfectly (crispy on the outside slightly translucent inside ) and came with a wasabi cream, lots of roasted veggies (potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans) and somewhat random things like cornichons, caper berries, and beets. The whole thing worked but would have been better with some editing. I personally wanted more wasabi in the cream and wished that it didn't get watered down by all the veggies. They have a nice cocktail list and a decent list of wines by the glass, several local all fairly priced. The place is modern looking with windows overlooking downtown streets in two sides. The place is very modern with lots of metal and concrete and consequently lots of energy and lots of noise. I see this as a great space for a bunch of friends, less so for a romantic dinner. I'm visiting Kelowna and would like to try this Korean-Italian fusion restaurant. In front of the door, there is a showcase displaying various types of liquors. It seems they focus on pairing liquor and wines with their food. We ordered the Korean Beef Tacos, Gnocchi Fritti, and Salmon Wasabi. The Korean Beef Tacos were bigger than I expected. The beef was soy-marinated, and the taste was okay. The use of Korean beef was a unique ingredient, which I really enjoyed. The Salmon Wasabi was an outstanding dish. The wasabi cream was incredibly delicious with a strong flavor. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and the vegetables--especially the crispy potatoes--were amazing. The beet paired beautifully with the other ingredients. Simply amazing! The Gnocchi Fritti was decent. The creamy rose sauce was delicious, but I was expecting some Korean ingredients to add a fusion twist. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed the flavors of this tasty dish.If you're looking to enjoy a simple yet flavorful Italian dish, I recommend this one. We ordered Honey Whipped Cream Cheese for dessert, and it was truly unique. I've never had anything like it before. The whipped cream cheese was incredibly soft, drizzled with honey and balsamic vinegar, and topped with a variety of nuts and dried fruits. It was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating it. I'd definitely order it again. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience at this restaurant. YUM - at first I wasn't sure how to feel about Korean Italian fusion, but this place hit the spot! My husband and I came on a Tuesday evening without a reservation, and was able to walk in to sit at the bar. The restaurant is cute with a low bar and modern decor. Food is really good. Very interesting Korean-Italian fusion take. Amazing beef tartare, gnocchi especially the sauce on it, and fried tofu. The only thing that could have been better were portion sizes (some of the appetizers were almost the size of a main dish), and maybe a warning to folks that it's more family style sharing. Each dish is basically exactly what it says. The pasta had nothing else, no vegetables, etc. The salad was oddly an entire romaine that you had to cut up yourself. Excellent service. What the heck -- 5 stars! Gather in downtown Kelowna is hands down one of the most impressive restaurants I've ever been to. My fiancé and I decided to stop by for lunch after hearing a few recommendations, and by the end of our meal, we were so blown away that we made reservations to come back the very next day. We were only in Kelowna for three days, and this place was so good, it took up two of our meals. Honestly, I would've eaten there all three days if we'd had more time! Gather is a Korean-fusion spot, and every dish we tried absolutely hit the mark. There's this effortless blend of Asian-inspired flavors with dishes we all know, and it just works. We ordered a bunch of different things to get a full feel for the menu: fried tofu, Gather caesar, beet & ricotta salad, honey garlic bread, spaghetti carbonara, and gnocchi fritti. It was almost impossible to pick a favorite because each dish had its own unique twist that made it special. If I had to choose, though, the spaghetti carbonara was the one that really stood out. I don't think I've ever had anything like it. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, and the sauce was so creamy and rich without being heavy. What made it unforgettable was this amazing Asian twist--our best guess is there was a hint of oyster sauce or some kind of umami flavor in there that elevated the whole dish. It was so beautifully plated, and the flavors were both familiar and unexpected at the same time. Every bite felt like a new experience, and I just couldn't stop eating it. I'm still thinking about that pasta! The fried tofu was another winner, with a super crispy exterior and soft, pillowy interior, paired with a sauce that had the perfect amount of tang. The Gather caesar was a great take on a classic, with bold flavors and a crunchy texture that I loved. The beet & ricotta salad was fresh and vibrant, with that perfect balance of sweetness from the beets and creaminess from the ricotta. Our group of 14 had one of the most uncomfortable dining experiences we've ever had at Gather. The way we were treated by Paolo felt outright discriminatory, and we left feeling humiliated. We originally made a reservation for 14 but were told that groups of six or more had to order from a set menu. Since we preferred to order à la carte, we were advised that booking three separate tables (6, 4, and 4) would be fine. We even arrived at different times to accommodate the restaurant. However, when we got there, Paolo greeted us with immediate hostility. He lectured us about having separate tables--even though it was previously approved--and even forbade us from interacting with each other. It was uncomfortable and completely unnecessary. Then came the issue of gratuity. Paolo first stated there would be an 18% auto-gratuity per table, which already seemed odd for smaller parties. But minutes later, he suddenly changed it to 20% without explanation. When the bill came, one table was randomly charged 19%--completely inconsistent. It felt like he was making up rules as he went. While the food was okay, the service was so hostile that it ruined the entire night. As a group of Asian diners, we couldn't shake the feeling that we were being treated differently. The attitude, the arbitrary restrictions, and the condescending way we were spoken to made it clear we were not welcome. I wouldn't recommend Gather to anyone. No one should have to pay to feel discriminated against. read more

Creative take on the Korean dishes though I think the lunch menu is slightly overpriced. The chef has put a lot of thought into the menu, I'll give him that, and the dish looks beautiful. The service is decent and the décor matches well with the overall experience. The taste of the food can be improved. Even as a fusion dish, I still think it's possible to integrate the stronger, spikier taste of Korean food.
