And instead of saying, Sorry let me fix that or even let me solve this mistake the server got defensive. She made the excuse that the kitchen was backed up and it would take a long time to fix. She did not care to fix the problem. We could have talked to an manager about it, but my wife would not make it a bigger problem. Our service went downhill from that point quickly. Our server stopped coming by or checking on us until it was time for the bill. On the way out someone asked how dinner was and I said it was just ok. I told him there had been a problem, but it wasn't resolved. He didn't ask for more details, and said sorry. That's it. I can't say it was good service was good, it wasn't!

We weren't starving, so we decided to share the moussaka (and hopefully save room for dessert!). Their cocktail menu looked fabulous, too, but we really wanted to save our appetite for the entree. (We've learned our lesson in the past, not to over-order!). When the moussaka arrived, the portion was very ample, and it was perfect to split in half. And we both agreed: it was probably the BEST moussaka we had ever had. Seriously, perfectly cooked, deliciously seasoned, perfect ratio of all the individual ingredients, just DELICIOUS and perfect. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! My kid loved the accompanying potatoes and carrots and lemony rice too, but I was too full from the main meal. And unfortunately, we were too full for dessert. Our server was lovely and attentive. My kid and I agreed we definitely will come back here when we next visit Penticton. For starters, they take five minutes to seat you with a reservation, then you wait another TEN for your server to come to the table. The Manager dresses like she ready for a night out at the laundromat and can't be bothered to help the servers run food or clear a table or hire a busser to help the servers. What a joke especially at these prices. The residents of Kelowna don't know what a good restaurant, so this explains why they get away with this. It's an embarrassment to the industry. The only saving grace was the food, which was 7/10 okay, but delivered before the appetizers were even half-way finished. read more

Being Kelowna, restaurants can get away with having mediocre food because their isn't as much competition particularly in this case for Greek food. If you're coming from a bigger city, and are hoping that this fills your Greek craving, it's just an average place, the lamb chops were good, but if they served food like this in Vancouver or Calgary it wouldn't last. Lamb Chops were just okay despite other reviews of glorifying them, the rice, salad, dressings, yogurt, potatoes and so on are below average. read more

Not very good at all. Went Saturday night, place was packed, very noisy, left with a headache. Calamari was mush, sauces were over powering, rice was covered in butter. "Can I get some rice with my butter!" Dirty Debbie the belly dancer finished off the evening by parading around with a fat stomach and a slutty outfit, and getting tips from old men. Yamas Greek restaurant is such a good place to eat! I went with my family and we enjoyed it a lot. We all got very nice meals with rice, potatoes and salad. Our server, Amanda was very kind, friendly and respectful. She told us what to order and what was recommended and we really enjoyed the food. All in all it was a very enjoyable experience. I totally understand she may have those tables reserved but during the whole dining experience I observed that there are at least 3 or 4 empty tables along the lake front and was not occupied ... (Bibimbap) and some true Italian (Gnocchi and homemade Pasta) with the rest being slight variants of both. We had the Burrata salad with greens and roasted and fresh tomatoes (nicely skinned) with Pesto, Pune Nuts and a balsamic dressing. It was beautiful but needed more salt and acid to tame down the Burrata. Still a nice salad. We split the Patate Fritte which was fried potatoes and gnocchi with a really flavorful Chipotle Mayo. The whole dish didn't work. The gnocchi were over fried and too small to eat with the much larger potatoes which were also underdone. The Tuna Poke Bowl was very nice (and a good deal) with all of the usual components. The Salmon was cooked perfectly (crispy on the outside slightly translucent inside ) and came with a wasabi cream, lots of roasted veggies (potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans) and somewhat random things like cornichons, caper berries, and beets. The whole thing worked but would have been better with some editing. I personally wanted more wasabi in the cream and wished that it didn't get watered down by all the veggies. They have a nice cocktail list and a decent list of wines by the glass, several local all fairly priced. The place is modern looking with windows overlooking downtown streets in two sides. The place is very modern with lots of metal and concrete and consequently lots of energy and lots of noise. I see this as a great space for a bunch of friends, less so for a romantic dinner. Overall I liked this place. It could be better and I would return. I love what they are aiming for.
