Funky little place with great atmosphere. We have to say the staff was top notch. Everyone greeted you (in a not over bearing way). Our server, Meaghan was delightful. You just felt that you were appreciated that you were there. Our group of four had mixed reviews on the food. None of it was bad, some was just okay. We ordered some staples- fried calamari, crispy chicken wings- and something I hadn't tried before: the S-Wagyu Sushi Press. The S-Wagyu Sushi Press was standout, the best thing we ordered. It was salty and savory, with an umami taste that paired incredible with our bottle of Malbec. Honestly, I wish we had just ordered the S-Wagyu Sushi Press x3! The fried calamari was soggy and bland, the braves dipping sauces did not pair well with the fish. The salt and chilli wings were nicely seasoned, but we're quite small did not have a lot of meat on them. I would still return for that S-Wagyu Sushi Press. read more

A great experience! The dinner and service were outstanding. This locally founded establishment I found a bit pricey but very enjoyable and busy. Interestingly they are inside a building with a sports rink and get many patrons before and after games so schedule accordingly. Their crispy chicken wings comes with your choice of house made sauces. I chose the BBQ and honey garlic. $14 CAD for ten or $10 during happy hour. Meaty, moist and tasty. Even better was the "black and blue" pizza $23 CAD. The caramelized onion, bacon, blue cheese, jalapenos and chimichurri may sound like a strange combo but it works! For me the kicker was the garlic aioli on top. It complimented these eclectic ingredients perfectly. I see no reason why I wouldn't return when in town. read more

Super small but chic pub/bar in downtown Kelowna. It feels like a smaller version of Joey's and way less options. But it's a cozy place for you and a few friends to hang out after a hockey game or finished playing volleyball on the weeknights. Their poke bowl was not really unique but it was good. I am truly amazed at the quality and the taste of their burgers here. B and I came here for lunch. We knew that during Covid, we would require a reservation to dine here. However, they do have a few tables for walk in. We got lucky and showed up at around noon. We ended up sitting outside at the patio. This place is always super busy. I did call before heading over and I was told that there are no tables for reservations over the labour long weekend. What can I do but just count on my luck. Well anyways, B and I really enjoyed the food here. B got the Bahn Mi and I got the Tuna Tataki burger. B said the bread was made on the day. The bread was nice and soft. He did noticed that the Bahn Mi was not made with Asian spices. Don't get me wrong the Bahn Mi still tasted amazing. I really loved my Tuna Tataki burger. It was very flavorful and super juicy. All the sauces paired very well with the burger. It was slightly messy to eat but it didn't bother me. The bun was freshly made on the day. All their burgers and sandwiches came with fries and served with ketchup. The ketchup was homemade. It had a really nice kick to it. Super flavorful. Overall, the food was amazing and we left very full. B also got a glass of Cerveza Negra. He said it was good. The beer and wine option is pretty good here. WOW. What an amazing restaurant. I'm so impressed. Right at the door, the hostess was so kind and actually apologized that she couldn't get us in any sooner than 10 minutes (we expected to wait a while). Once we sat down, we were at a table in the bars section. The bartender was great with many suggestions on both drinks and food. Margaritas were on special so obviously, we had some. To start, we had their vegan cauliflower wings which were to die for. I had a salad with the BEST cooked crispy tofu I've ever had while my mom had the vegan mushroom Alfredo. Server was awesome, Megan, if I remember correctly. She asked us our names and used them throughout the meal. 6 people and she remembered all of them! As for the menu, very extensive. Lots of cool new things. I had the Sweet Georgia Peach Pizza, which had peaches and prosciutto, amazing. It was one of a few things I wanted to try. Overall excellent experience. We ordered to go to eat back at our resort after a day at the beach. What we swallowed: CENTRAL BURGER: Intense charred flavor (but not burnt) on the burger itself. It was nicely offset by the pickled onions. This was a hearty burger. Came with a side of fries that were heavily salted but soft on the inside but super crispy in the edges. Just perfect. FRIED CALAMARI: These had some curry undertones. Maybe I didn't read that on the menu. These were just OK. Maybe not a good to-go option as they were cold and chewy. Interesting side dipping sauce (?). SZECHWAN WINGS: These had a really great spice to them. The outside was super crispy but the insides were nice and juicy. Just a little bit of kick that made them highly addicting. They look as good as they taste. CHICKEN FINGERS AND FRIES: Tasty chicken, great fries. Can't go wrong here. We had an absolutely amazing time here at the Central Kitchen + Bar. The food here was delicious and the drinks were really good. The staff are amazing, we let them know that my wife has a cilantro allergy and they made sure everything was clear and one thing that did have it in the sauce, they re made it so that it wouldn't be a problem. They were extremely accommodating and the food menu all looked so good it was hard to pick what to eat. The hot cauliflower bites and fish tacos were phenomenal. The Wagyu Aburi which was delicious. I had the Classy Boozy Racket cocktail which came in a tea cup, so good. I wish we had known about this place sooner in our trip so we could have come more! Had amazing truffle fries however their ELOTÉ salad was not impressive at all. It was heavy in texture and dressing and looked like a cat's breakfast.... What a great find! A hopping little place located inside the large white/blue sports arena near the north end of Ellis Street at Clement. Neat to watch part of a floor hockey game while we were there, and the kids were able to go out to the arena and watch while we were waiting for the food. The restaurant is relatively small - maybe 15-17 tables. They have 2 booths that sit 4-6 people and they also put tables together for groups, like the stream of floor hockey players coming in after their games. The ambiance is comfortable yet classy; lots of wood and leather, a casual upscale feel. The service was great; friendly, helpful and efficient. We were welcomed, briefed and taken good care of. We liked the smaller menu but given the excellent choices it was still hard to decide. All sauces are made in house, they grind their own meat for hamburgers, etc. We were mostly pleased with the food. The fish and chips had a lot of batter - and I like batter but it was too much and slightly soggy in parts; the fries and homemade ketchup were excellent! The fried green tomatoes were nice and crunchy, we really enjoyed the combination of tomato jam and goat cheese it was served with. The chorizo and pesto pizza was very well flavoured - lots going on there! The crust of the pizza was thin and delicious, and it was cut into small enough pieces that it was perfect for sharing. The chicken wings were our least favourite - they were soggy, lukewarm and the ranch dressing was slightly spicy, sweet and pink which didn't offset the heat of the hot wings we ordered. The music at one point was loud to the point that we almost couldn't talk which we did not care for at 12:30ish on a Sunday afternoon - but they did turn it down after a while. They have excellent daily drink specials, Sundays are $4 Casaers - served with a chunk of pepperoni and pickle! We will definitely go back, the service is excellent and the food very promising - looking forward to trying the pasta! We were in Kelowna on vacation and visited Central as it came highly recommended. Unfortunately it missed the mark for us. The burger bun was cold, the pulled pork mac and cheese was not cheesy and it was as if like they missed and bbq seasoning at all for the pulled pork. Also the booth they seated us in was very small. Best beef dip ever! I don't ever recall eating at the same restaurant twice in one day...until now. We went for weekend brunch, I had Central's Bacon Benny. Great taste, generous portion, and I loved their hash browns! We mentioned to our server that we originally meant to come later on for a burger as we heard they were one of the best in town. She immediately said we had to come back before leaving town, we wouldn't be disappointed. So, we went back later that evening, I'm so glad we did. My partner had a burger (which was excellent), and I had the short rib beef dip. It was the best beef dip I have ever had, I would recommend to anyone! Oh, and the service was excellent on both visits. It's obvious that the staff know what they are doing and enjoy working there, and that the restaurant is very well run. Wow, the signature burger is the best! The patty is a mixture of beef and pork which makes it extremely flavourful. Served on the fresh pretzel bun with avocado and goat feta - melts in your mouth! This was probably the best burger I've ever had! I had "The Vintage" which came with white cheddar, BBQ sauce, bacon, red onion, tomato, lettuce and pickles ($15). It came on a pretzel bun which kinda fell apart but I don't even care because this thing was SUPER DELICIOUS. Holy crap, the beef patty was so juicy and flavourful. We had ordered the dirty truffle fries to start (delicious, btw) so I opted to get a side salad instead. Even the SALAD WAS DELICIOUS. It was a house salad with vinaigrette dressing and came with string beans and brussel sprouts. They have a really DELICIOUS Caesar too.
