Great staff and great food. Loved the Amanda's Burger, and the French fries were excellent!

My travelling companion and I officially visited and ate at the only Burger Baron outside Alberta. This one is located in Kelowna BC. We both ate a regular beef donair and large poutine, which was made with crinkled fries, shredded cheese and beef gravy. The donair was very tasty, of course made with donair meat, onions, tomatoes and tangy sweet donair sauce. Service was good and quick, and the ambiance is very traditional, like any other Burger Baron you would visit elsewhere. A must if you are in the area of Kelowna!! read more

A cute little local Rutland staple. A hole in the wall which are sometimes the best little lunch spots to explore. The burgers are pretty average but they do have unique styles of burgers on the menu. An absolutely enormous portion of fries! The huge list of milkshakes available will blow your mind. You can eat in or order to go and have a picnic at one of the two nearby parks. Bonus is they have a drive thru. Definitely a good value for your money. read more

Went here a few years ago and wasn't too impressed with what I got. . However, new owner and changes to the menu. Still a small burger dive but so far my son loves the burgers here. We usually get a cheeseburger for him with just the baron sauce ( he's 8) and lettuce. So far he's not disappointed! Keeps wanting more. Ordered drive through a few times and had beef burgers and chicken burger. The chicken was a deep fried patty and wished they had grilled. They also offered a veggie burger but haven't tried it yet. So decent sized burgers, hot and wrapped in foil. Locally owned and prices are in the $5-7 range per burger. Oh, if you want to splurge, get a milkshake- huge variety of flavours and my kid loves them. They're pricey but to him it's worth it. I havent tried the milkshakes since I'm lactose intolerant so I will take my foodie kid's word! read more

Came here today for lunch. Before arriving I looked at the menu and noticed they have a veggie burger with a falafel patty -I thought that was pretty unique and I was excited since I love chickpea patties. Was my first time and the other person I went with had been before. Arrived just after 1pm and the parking lot was super full and only had a couple spots left in the very back. Inside all tables were taken except one and there was a car at the drive thru as well - it was pretty busy! Interior has an old fashioned, slight diner feel to it. There were only 2 girls working the front and we waited a bit but the one girl was very nice and said she would be right with us so I didn't mind at all. She apologized for the wait and We were greeted with a smile and "Hello! Welcome to Burger Baron!" We ordered: Cheeseburger, Veggie Burger & Small fries Food arrived pretty promptly. But unfortunately I was disappointed with my burger after my first bite. I was expecting the falafel patty that I saw on the menu online but it was a Morningstar farms black bean burger patty, the same ones they sell at Costco right now. I've purchased those patties at Costco before and wasn't a huge fan of the flavour and if I would've known it was the same patty I feel like I could have just made that at home. I was excited to try the falafel patty. Maybe they recently changed it or I saw an old menu? My friend said his cheeseburger was so good. I noticed the patty was quite thin, I won't say if that's good or bad because some people like either. The fries were okay, they were just fried and still hot & crisp but they were suuuper oily, shiny and wet looking(hard to tell in pic but if you zoom you can kinda tell). If they change the patty back to falafel or something else(that's not soy based), I will come back and try it. I want to mention something about the service though. One of the girls working is an exceptional employee. I am a very observant person, and this girl has an excellent work ethic and great customer service skills. It was very busy but she kept on top of everything: didn't forget to greet, taking orders, wiping tables quickly, clearing plates(baskets) for people once they were done, communicating with people when their food would arrive, telling the kitchen that people were waiting for food, and even quality checking food(at a burger joint!). read more

Was just there this weekend as part of a camping trip to Lake Okanagan and on the last day before our drive back to Vancouver we decided we need to grab some burgers. A quick scan of Yelp yielded the usual fast food chain suspects, except for one curious place call Burger Baron. Now it only had one review, a positive one by Orpha C. but there was still a lot of scepticism and accusations that I had 'bet the farm' on this joint. I held the faith though... We took the rather longish drive into east Kelowna and found the most broken down, dilapidated burger shack you could ever imagine. All of my friends started their "I told you so" mocking, but we carried on. Once inside though I knew we had hit gold. This place is a burger dive and the menu is filled with amazing options for both burgers and sides including milkshakes in more flavours you could imagine, breaded mushrooms, tots, and crinkly fries!! I ordered the double bacon cheese, while my friends ordered the double supreme and a bunch of single cheeses. They also have this deal of 3 burgers for $4.44...Crazy!! About 10 mins later we were all chowing down on burger goodness. Nice charred patties, great sauce, not too greasy, and the biggest bonus, nice toasty hot buns. So hot in fact that we had to wait a minute or so until we could hold them! Now don't get me wrong, this isn't gourmet. There isn't any blue cheese or artisan buns. And that's the point! This is an out of the way, honest to goodness, burger shack. They serve them hot and fresh, and they hit the spot. What else could you ask for? read more

Such a classic little spot. Has a unique "mom and pop" feel. The whole experience made us feel like we had gone back in time to when fast food was actually good. Make sure to have a milkshake - they are the real deal. The crinkle fries were perfectly crispy and the hamburger bun was tall and fresh. My number one favorite thing about this place is that the food is always served piping hot, especially when the drive-thru has a line-up. My favorite is the mushroom/swiss, along with their spicy fries. Quick, hot and good. That's what I want in a fast-food burger. read more

Don't waste your money here go anywhere else...even go to mc Donald's. Ordered the cheese burger and fries...came with half a slice of plastic cheese...everything was completely tasteless except the huge amount of onion piled in the middle. The chips were old and hardly warm. The girl cooking the foods hair was falling out and possibly she should be wearing a hair net. It was a massive disappointment and we won't be going there again, it's not that hard I don't know how people can stuff burgers up so much. read more

For one burger short in my drive thru order, a disgrace to Canada for a so called poutine, at the price I paid I should have gone to McDonald's at least their food quality is consistent. Double check your order before leaving drive thru. We drove not even 5 min up the road to home. Burgers were soggy and I ordered them plain with all toppings on the side so there was no need for the soggyness. Fries were cooked well, gravey was good, there was maybe 1/8 th of a cup is shredded mozzarella. Apparently for almost $8 you get a wanna be poutine. Poutine is made with cheese curds not shredded cheese! Nothing like ordering out just so you have to cook when you get home! read more

Unfortunately this was one of my favourite burger places but after tonight's dinner I was so grossed out both my husband and I lost our appetites. Two bites into my Burger I found not one but three very long dark hairs knotted up in my Burger. I almost puked. It turned my stomach we threw our meals out! Not my hair it is grey and short. Buddy had been telling me about this place for a while from his childhood and we had decided to try it out. We each got a double burger and a milkshake each. The decor was nice, 80s style. We sat down and waited for our food, got our milkshakes which were not bad at all. The burgers came and the first thing I noticed was the edge of the patty was glossy. When there is a glossy edge, you can tell it's frozen right away. It had the smell, look, and taste of the cheap frozen patties from the grocery store, which is something you can easily notice. When I was asked how our food was I said that it was "kinda ok". The lady asked me what's wrong and I said that the burgers were frozen and she said: "That's why they're $5.75" very irritatedly. After that she was friendly. My buddy couldn't finish his burger and had an upset stomach when we got home. I have run a restaurant and it's not all that hard to make a good burger. There is a save on right nearby and you could buy any of your ingredients in bulk from Sysco if needed. Ground beef kneaded into a ball and pressed on the grill just to get the shape. A little bit of salt and pepper. Fresh buns, make some mayo, shop your veggies, Use a mild cheddar cheese added to patty right before done on the grill. Simple, doesn't need to be expensive either. The reason this is getting 2 stars is that the decor was nice and the milkshakes were not bad. If you go here, grab a milkshake but I would pass on a burger. read more

we ordered the 3 burgers deal for 5$,two small poutines, mushroom caps and a mushroom burger. My husband enjoyed the mushroom burger but found the burgers similar tasting to saw dust. The fries were very dry and almost tasted not cooked. A new cook may be in order. When the gentleman is in, thats when you order food from the rutland location. Without having a 10$ dollar burger, you get a dry patty with tons of ketchup. read more

Well I won't be going back here again. Tried Burger Baron for the first time today. Waited 10 mins in the drive thru line for a Double Cheeseburger...(which ended up being a single when I got home) a poutine and a Jr. Fries. The place was not even that busy so I have no idea why it took so long to make this small amount of food. Poutine was ok but had very little cheese on it and was not even kurds... just some cheese melted on top... Everyone seems to rave about their fries but to me they are nothing special...really they are pretty much fries that you can buy in the frozen foods section of a supermarket. I would suggest to anyone thinking of trying this place... DON"T BOTHER. It's a total waste of money for what it is. read more

We went to this place for milkshakes. Big mistake. Waited in line behind a kid around 12 - 13 years old on a pedal bike. microphone was broken, but there was no sign to indicate it. After 15 mins or so no one had moved, but someone had pulled up behind us so we were stuck. Got pissed off. Decided not to get anything and just expected the kid on bike not to get served but he actually did get served! What a shithole. Pulled out of drive thru as fast as possible and noticed guy behind me do the same thing. Terrible! We live in the area and thought we'd try it out. A waste of time and a waste of money. Cold fries, plain and thin tasting patties, and the milk shake "made with real fruit" was ridiculously sweet, syrupy and definitely no real banana.
