We were in Kamloops during the labour day weekend and this space was highly recommended so we decided to try. It is one of the best Korean place in Okanagan. The table looks normal but is induction so they just place the grill in the middle, don't waste space with the induction and the controls are off to the side. Given the great reviews for this place, I'm baffled at what caused our experience to be so different. There was a fairly large group that arrived shortly before us, but it otherwise wasn't very busy. But the service was probably the worst I've ever experienced. We waited quite awhile to even get menus and again to order, but we weren't starving and were ok with that. But it got worse, not better, including simple things like the servers not knowing which dishes came with miso soup. When we placed our orders, the server indicated that the large group may have taken all of the barbeque chicken and pork, but she never returned to say they were out, so we assumed all was ok. And when they only brought the other two dishes, nothing was said so we continued to assume the other dishes would arrive shortly. They didn't. We decided our server must be new and seemed confused, so we finally got the attention of the other server. By then, two of us had finished our meals. Neither server returned to update us, but the food never arrived, so we left with two in our party unfed nearly 1 1/2 hours after we arrived. We weren't at all sure that the servers could understand English, but they were totally unattentive. The experience ruined any potential enjoyment of the food. read more

Probably the best Korean BBQ place in the Okanagan! We got one of the Korean BBQ combos along with the seafood pancake (my go-to for any Korean spot) and edamame. To start the meal, a series of banchan (appetizer dishes) were laid out. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety. I can't remember exactly how many dishes there were but it was more than five. The kimchi was great - another indicator of a top notch Korean restaurant. The BBQ meat was well seasoned. The pancake was crisp and delicious. Service was good. Delicious dinner in kamloops. We stopped here on our overnight stay traveling from Vancouver to Jasper. Food was flavorful and delicious. We all loved the pork dumplings, kimchi, miso soup, and pickled radish. We got an assortment of main dishes that didn't require cooking at the table (we were tired and feeling lazy) - short ribs, spicy pork bulgogi, beef bulgogi, and spicy chicken with noodles. Everyone loved their meals. My husband threatened to take an extra order to go just so he could eat it again later. Extremely flavorful and tasty. I got the spicy pork bulgogi and can not say enough about how much I enjoyed it. Just the right amount of spice - a nice medium without overpowering. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. It's definitely more of a laid back atmosphere. It did seem that they take reservations if you are coming during a popular time or with a large party. We can for an early dinner (5pm) and had no problem getting a table. read more

On our 9 hour drive from Vancouver to Jasper, we decided to make a pit stop for lunch. We saw Korean BBQ and made an exit off the freeway. Although it's not an AYCE, that was no problem. It still made it hard for us to decide what to order without overordering. We decided to share the Spicy Pork Bulgogi Entree that came with rice and the Korean Fried Chicken (Soy Garlic). I was expecting the chicken to be like wings and drumsticks, but it came out like popcorn chicken. I would probably pass on it next time. Our family was en route to Vancouver and we always make Kamloops our overnight stopover. This time, the boys and I had a hankering for Korean food! The restaurant was fairly busy for a weeknight, so we were glad that we made reservations when we checked in to our hotel. All tables are cleverly fitted with an induction coil underneath -- for Korean barbecue, your server places a grilling pan in the middle of your table and you're all set to go! Our servers were friendly, helpful, and attentive. We ordered Combo B (for 3 people): marinated pork, BBQ chicken, beef bulgogi, spicy pork, and fresh pork belly. Deep fried sweet and sour chicken, house salad, and rice are included. Last but not least, there are always 4 or 5 ban chan (little appetizer dishes) that are served with all Korean meals. The boys and I enjoyed our dinner immensely; all the meats were seasoned perfectly, the sweet and sour chicken was flavourful and juicy, and the ban chan(free refills) were delicious. While in Kamloops for one night to visit my cousin, we arrived and wanted lunch. We were so fortunate to find Gui Korean BBQ. The food is amazing. As we left town the next day we had to come back for a second lunch! We had Special A for two people. ($50 Canadian) 5 Meats to BBQ - three styles of pork, beef and chicken. We were on a road trip and stopped by Kamloops for two nights. We found this restaurant and liked it so much that we went there three times in two days. I was very impressed. I am from Seattle and was in Kamloops on the way back from Sun Peaks. First, I was impressed with their prices, their 2 person combo is at an amazingly reasonable price. Second, their flavors, everything was perfectly marinated and portions of meats was just fine for two. We were very satisfied with the amount and flavor of the food. Third, their inductive cooktops are a safer, easier and cleaner way to cook the meats at the table. I really liked the fried chicken side dish that came with the combo. I wish we had something like this here in Seattle. I can get Korean BBQ here but it is $70 USD (90 Canadian) for two and I don't think it is as good. You don't know how good you have it there in Kamloops. Nice people, too. Try it. read more

I love this place. We've eaten here a few times now and its always great. We usually order the combo B cause it comes with all the meats. And I mean that. Literally all the meats. But as a word of warning don't try to finish the combo if you don't have a partner that will pull their weight. The wife tapped out early the first time we went and I had to go it alone for the rest. It was a mistake... a delicious mistake. Paid for at 2am with the most intense meat sweats of my life. So next time we split it between 3 people and it was still lots if food. Food was great but the waitress's attitude was terrible. Besides, the way of cleaning up the pan was disgusting, they did not even take the food out when they were cleaning the pan with a tissue! Some burnt black parts were remained upon the food either. What's more, after we paid our bills, the waitress did not even say "thank you" and they just walked away. Food is prepared with with thought and care. My 5 year old daughter loved the fried chicken. It was the best Korean fried chicken I had ever had. We ordered the Korean bbq for two. My wife has celiacs and they accommodated her. Little known fact but the process of brewing soy sauce destroys all the gluten. They were worried about their bbq sauce for my wife but she eat all the bbq without a reaction. And it was delicious. Chef Eddie Kim has done an outstanding job with the menu. As with all Korean restraints, the service was poor. No one should go to a Korean restaurant for the service. The people were great but they were under staffed.
