Ten out of ten. First time ever having traditional ramen and I want to go back already even though I just had it this afternoon. The service was impeccable and the staff were really friendly and attentive. Not overly loud and overall great atmosphere.

Absolutely agreed with others yelpers who gave five stars reviews!! I love their Tiger Ramen a lot, the chicken bone broth is so delicious and carefully cooked. I love the interior as well - very authentic Japanese feels. Cozy.

I had the soy sauce ramen with 3 dumplings. It proved that Ramen can be a great choice for the first meal of the day. Perfect when it's raining out as well. Flavorful broth amd the pork was perfectly cooked. We sat at the bar and had a front row view of the chef masterfully handling the stove. Great food.

Having just come in from Vancouver, we were pleasantly surprised by this place. It was 445 and the tiny place (seats approx 16) was packed and we had to wait. Friendly staff, reasonably priced portions, simple unpretentious menu and the ramen...mmmm good serving size and full of flavor! I ordered the miso pork ramen with extra noodles, kids ordered the soy ramen with pork and wife ordered the vegan ramen with a spicy factor of 2. The first thing I noticed was the temperature of the ramen broth came out piping hot! Usually its warm to hot, but this one was hot and stayed so for quite a while. Secondly the ramen texture was fantastic! It had a great chewy texture and are thicker than the ones in Calgary. My only "complaint" would be that they served lean pork on the ramen and I would have preferred a fattier cut, plus the pork seemed like it was just boiled and sliced it, therefore it lacked any real flavor, unlike calgary and Vancouver where most places I've been to they roast the pork. 4 bowls came to $45, in calgary this would have easily been a $60 meal. Great place to stop in kamloops!

My husband has been raving about this place for so long so when we decided to attend his office Christmas party and drive up to Kamloops, we made sure was part of our agenda. The place can accomodate about 25 people max. It opens at 11.45 am. Very odd opening time I know. We were there by 11.30 am and there were at least 7 people waiting outside. They probably also thought that opening is 11.30 LOL As soon as it opens we were greeted by a very friendly staff and seated us by the bar. The menu is not overwhelming. The ramen is divided into 3 types, a) soy sauce b) miso c) sea salt. My eyes wondered at the description for each type. I chose miso as it says creamy pork broth. How can you go wrong with creamy? Right? I chose the Tonkatsu (hmmm pork) in Miso and upon recommendation from my husband asked for a spicy ball as add-on. Spicy ball is a type of spicy paste that is scooped out like a ball and placed on top of your ramen. Now the moment of truth. I mixed the spicy ball with miso broth to create this so creamy soup base. First sip of the broth takes you to miso ramen heaven. It was delicious! First bite of the thinly sliced pork and it was soft and tasty. The ramen noodle was cooked to perfection, al dente, just the way I like it! If you happen to be in the area this is a must place to try. If you love ramen like I do then I highly recommend this place.

After looking at all the reviews, we decided to drop in for an early supper before checking in to our hotel. The kitchen staff/servers were friendly, attentive, and efficient (the tables turn very quickly here). The ramen bowls(soy, vegetable, and miso) range from $9-11. I ordered the tonkatsu soy ramen (fish stock and pork bone base ). This was the best ramen broth I've had in a long time; it was steaming hot with great depth of flavour without being too salty. The sliced pork(not your traditional Chinese style char siu) was so tender and juicy that you could cut it with your chopsticks. The handmade ramen was firm and delicious--our son ordered extra ramen for $1 and was slurping his soup contentedly. Tiger Ramen is well worth the drive from Calgary. We are definitely looking forward to our next visit here when we pass through Kamloops!

First time coming here in the Kamloops area and was scoping out the area and stumbled on this place. Was in the plaza pretty early in the morning and so just happened they were just opening up for the day. I was the first one to go in before the lunch rush. I had ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen with extra noodles. For a small city like Kamloops, this ramen place is very good for the area. The soup base was very flavorful, the noodles had good texture and was chewy and not too soggy. The pork wasn't bad either despite I was hoping to get larger slices but the overall meal was delicious. I highly recommend to get extra noodles which only costs $1. I know that whenever you eat ramen there is always leftover soup base so it's best to try to finish it up. Just wished they had more selection on the don bowls since they only have one and everything else is ramen. But definitely comes back and try other ramen bowls.

Ordered green tea and Tonkatsu Ramen. The green tea was VERY nice, rich in flavour and pipping hot !! Menu is divided into three sections of Ramen - soy, vegetable and miso. After I ordered I heard people talking about spice level - shoot cause mine now won't be spicy - well that's ok, gives my an opportunity to really taste the broth. They had no black garlic (what a shame). But the Ramen arrived and the homemade noodles were very nice and in my Ramen Bowl was a beautiful piece of cooked pork and two pieces of seaweed and a little bit of spinach there was nothing else nothing. I was used to an egg included so I didn't realize when I ordered that you had to order everything else that you wanted in your Ramen. No big deal it was still a very very good broth and the pork was cooked beautifully and the soup was amazing I really enjoyed it ! Small place, seats about 18 people, top 10 music plays and on top of that people talking, laughing, the kitchen noise of plates/bowls and the ding of the cash register; the place is not quite.

Tiger Ramen Special, this is a regular menu item now. Great choice! 5/5.

Black Pine Social - Miso and mushroom ramen with added egg and pork belly

So, this place is like a bar and bistro with a full menu. We came to eat and was one of the first…read moreones but by 7 there were many more people. Not loud or rowdy at all, and felt more like a restaurant than a bar honestly. I'm writing this review because it's spring and this ski resort is mostly empty, and a ski resort in the middle of the Okanagan is not where I would have expected to find a ramen menu in a bar-bistro. Yet they reassured me the chefs were trained properly. So I decided to be brave and give this place a chance. I was pretty glad I was open minded. Myself and 2 of my kids had ramen. One had chicken broth which was not bad. Mine was a miso and mushroom garlic / "black oil" broth. I added egg and roasted pork belly. My summary is - I'm satisfied with this ramen. It's pretty good considering where it is. It's not the same as Vancouver ramen but it's still good in its own right and I would have it again. Pork belly - this was EXCELLENT. Crispy and full of flavour. Wow. Egg - decent ramen - thick, it was ok. Doesn't stand out but good enough. Broth - it's thick. It's not miso. It's not tonkatsu either. It's kinda like curry but not spicy. I mean curry like in consistency. However it's interesting enough. Stuff - bamboo. Green onions, though cut kinda funny. Anyways, give this place a chance. The burger according to my burger fan daughter was really good, and my wife's winter vegetable torte was really good too.

We sat for 20 minutes with no service . Keep in mind the place was nearly empty . There were only 3 other tables with people . There were 4 servers just walking around and socializing at the bar . We got tired of waiting at the table so I went to the bar where the service was equally poor service . I ordered 2 salads and instead they brought 2 drinks even after he repeated our order . The wait staff seemed more into themselves and socializing with one another over serving customers . Once they do take your order they go right back to ignoring you . Took 4 times asking to actually get water. I don't often write reviews , I hope they improve their service because the food is worth it . We don't care about the low cut shirts and hiked up skirts on the waitresses , just provide good service please
