    Korean in Kamloops

This Update is for our experience with their BBQ offerings... On our way back from Calgary, we are so looking forward to come to Gui again! This time around we ordered their BBQ Combo A! For CDN$45.00 you are getting a fair amount! BBQ Combo A : Starter: Mixed Green Salad KFC - Korean Friend Chicken ( with a tangy lemon sauce ) Main: Beef Bulgogi Beef Short Ribs Pork Picnic Cut Pork Belly Boneless Chicken Thigh Pineapple Rice & Banchan Their cook top is flameless, electric induction with a non-stick Korean BBQ cooker. We also ordered a Sapporo Draft & a Korean Jinro Soju ( a Korean liquor made from rice / barley or potato starch ). Soju is traditionally a perfect drink with Korean BBQ, its smoothness, goes well with all the grilled meats and or seafood. We are also very happy with their service, staffs are all very friendly and particularly Yun, he even recalled our visit about a year ago!! Thanks again guys for keeping your establishment in such good standard and offering delicious Korean cuisine.

Probably the best Korean BBQ place in the Okanagan! We got one of the Korean BBQ combos along with the seafood pancake (my go-to for any Korean spot) and edamame. To start the meal, a series of banchan (appetizer dishes) were laid out. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety. I can't remember exactly how many dishes there were but it was more than five. The kimchi was great - another indicator of a top notch Korean restaurant. The BBQ meat was well seasoned. The pancake was crisp and delicious. Service was good. They also have fancy induction grills. We will be back!

On our 9 hour drive from Vancouver to Jasper, we decided to make a pit stop for lunch. We saw Korean BBQ and made an exit off the freeway. Although it's not an AYCE, that was no problem. It still made it hard for us to decide what to order without overordering. We decided to share the Spicy Pork Bulgogi Entree that came with rice and the Korean Fried Chicken (Soy Garlic). I was expecting the chicken to be like wings and drumsticks, but it came out like popcorn chicken. I would probably pass on it next time. This place also does not give out any banchan (at least not during lunch when we were there). Even though it was only 2 plates, it was enough to fill us up and ready to hit the road again.

While in Kamloops for one night to visit my cousin, we arrived and wanted lunch. We were so fortunate to find Gui Korean BBQ. The food is amazing. As we left town the next day we had to come back for a second lunch! We had Special A for two people. ($50 Canadian) 5 Meats to BBQ - three styles of pork, beef and chicken. Then a crispy chicken nugget style dish, salad, rice and a slew of condiments. Every bite was an explosion of taste in your mouth. I hope you enjoy this restaurant as much as we did.

Solid Korean BBQ! We were worried that the food wasn't going to be enough for two people but they included many side dishes and rice! I was surprised they weren't more busy. Overall really good value and good service!

The best place for hangover soups in Kamloops If you had too many brewski's Saturday night. Do yourself a favor and order the spicy kimchi pork soup or the spicy seafood soup. Plus, Christina the server is the best! If you become a regular you'll maybe even get to see pics of her dogs. 10/10

Tasty Korean bbq meal cooked my ourselves. The combo A came with meat and we supplemented it with Jap Chae. Food was very tasty, service was pretty good. They helped us with the grill as well. Thanks for a great meal.

Sounds like this may be an unpopular opinion but I would say the Noble Pig was mid at best. We came…read morein after a long day at a nearby hockey tournament so it was definitely a full house, but based on rave reviews we were expecting much more than what we received. The ambiance was chill and the booths were roomy and comfortable but sadly that was probably the highlight of the meal. The server was ok but not overly friendly or attentive by any means. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich, a pulled pork "bowl" and a small pizza. Nothing too crazy or over the top so we figured it was pretty simple and would be relatively fast. To our surprise it took a solid 40 minutes. We figured that one of the dishes may have taken a bit longer so we stayed patient, but when the food was served it was lukewarm nearing cold. The food was nothing special but maybe could have gotten another star had it been served hot. Sadly disappointed to be quite honest, the best part of the actual meal itself was the side of French fries that accompanied the pulled pork sandwich. Sadly, the menu prices definitely did not match the quality of food or rave reviews.

We were seated right away by a friendly host and our server who was super helpful throughout our visit. While we dined, the place got much busier and had a nice buzz to it. It had a distinct theme inside that aligns with its name and its selection of flagship brews. As I mentioned, we were hungry after a long drive so we obviously over ordered. We started with the Triple Threat Pull Apart Bread and the Crispy Pickles. Both were amazing! The bread was so soft and delicious and the pickles were savoury, but also spicy! Be warned! My partner ordered the Stuffed Yorkies because they weren't something we'd seen on a menu before. He loved them! The dish was three Yorkshire puddings stuffed full so it was also HUGE. I got the Flagship Mac and, honestly, for a place with multiple macs on the menu, it was remarkably unremarkable, unfortunately. Don't be discouraged, though! The quality of the rest of the food was so high that it made up for that tiny miss. If you're in Kamloops, check out The Noble Pig. They also have a great patio!

My best friend was here from the coast and we've eaten sushi at numerous restaurants there. Wanted…read moreAYCE so decided to try this one. Mistake! The interior was clean and well lit. We were seated quickly and given our menu papers to order. VERY surprised to find that items that are standard at other AYCE sushi restaurants were a 'charge added' at this one. In addition, many items like chicken karage, were not even on the menue. Given the lack of staff (no blame here-we let it go) it took quite awhile for the server to pick up our order sheets. The Sunomono Salad was the first hint that something might be amiss. It came in a glass cup and the vinegar was yellow. Apple cider vinegar instead of rice vinegar, I think. My friend, who LOVES Sunomono salad couldn't eat hers. Then our items came in dribs and drabs. A California Roll and a couple of Inari (even though the menu said 3 pieces per order, and we ordered X2 (which should have been 6 pieces) we received 2 pieces. Then came the Tempura (sans the 2 prawns that comes with it EVERYWHERE else-prawns were an extra charge) and then the Yakisoba. Finally, the teriyakis come. 2 beef and 2 chicken. Teriyaki? A pile of fried cabbage and onion and 5 measly tiny pieces of chicken and another pile of fried cabbage and onion and 2 pieces of beef. NO TERIYAKI SAUCE!! Even though we both love cabbage, neither one of us could eat all of it. Then there is this-if you do not eat all of each dish, you are charged for that dish separately. So, my friend was charged an extra $5 for her unfinished Yakisoba (more cabbage mixed into lukewarm noodles). We complained about the huge amount of cabbage for each of the hot dishes and I felt that they should have not charged extra for the yakisoba. All in all a very disappointing AYCE lunch. The rolls were fine-nothing special. The Inari was fine. Everything else was sub-standard or non existent and having to pay extra for items that are standard at other sushi restaurants is a money grab. I will never eat here again and I will encourage my friends not to as well.
