Great atmosphere, it was a quite Tuesday night. It was my first night visiting Kelowna and this place was such a great experience. Considering I had salmon the night before at another restaurant that didn't deliver, this place definitely made up for it. I had the panko salmon, my friend had the short ribs with roasted vegetables. Everything was so tasty, if I was more hungry, I'd have seconds. We finished with Tiramisu and Chocolate Mousse. Both were delicious. If I come back to visit I'll be sure to stop by for a fancy night out here. Great service from our server (I think his name was Scott), he also was the bartender if that helps. And the lovely female host (didn't get her name)was so sweet. Such a great experience.

I came to Kelowna for vacation and saw Basil & Mint as one of the top restaurants...but their food says otherwise. We ordered a variety of food including 3 set courses and 1 Spaghetti Puttanesca. 1) The Food Out of everything I had, I would say my favourite dish was the Okanagan Valley Beet Salad. It tasted fresh and the beets were thoroughly cooked. The feta cheese made it a bit more "filling." We also got the other appetizers but they were very average. For entrees, we ordered 2 Mediterranean Cioppino's and 1 Boneless Short Ribs and Onions. During my West Coast trip, my family and I intended to eat all the fresh seafood we could, which is why we got 2 of the Cioppino's. However, I was disappointed with how the seafood did not taste fresh at all. While some people may dislike the "fishy" taste of super fresh seafood, the seafood in this dish did not have that rather, it had an "old" taste to it. It became a bit hard to chew because the shrimps tasted soggy. The Short Ribs were better probably because short ribs taste better after sitting for long periods of time. For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu and the cheesecake of the day, which was a raspberry-rhubarb cheesecake. I was a fan of both, especially the cheesecake because I liked how the flavours were throughout the cake itself instead of just in the sauce. 2) Service Not the best but not the worst. Given that we were sitting on the patio, I felt like our server tried her best to accommodate us. Dessert did take a while to arrive, considering how it was probably the item that required the least effort. I'm pretty sure they were already pre-cut and plated too. Guess we had to wait an extra 15 minutes for the kitchen to put whipped cream and raspberries on them... 3) Ambiance Definitely a good date spot (we saw a couple the night we went). Although you get a view of the street, the area itself is quite peaceful and a short walk to a nearby beach. Family-friendly too... (I think)!

Basil & Mint is an amazing Kelowna dining experience. The food is beyond delicious and the staff is so wonderful and passionate. Basil & Mint literally saved the day when our couple's wedding venue cancelled on them the morning of their wedding day. With absolutely no notice, Basil & Mint catered their backyard wedding and it was spectacular. As wedding photographers, we not only recommend them for event catering but also to dine in at their amazing restaurant :)

Appetiser - meatballs. They were great!

The only imperfection is the absence of a sunset view. Highly recommended this restaurant for small or big groups.

You walk in and it's always bumping and bartender is always making funky and cool drinks and everyone's always having a great time. Lots of conversation between friends or even between strangers at the bar. Service was always great. The best dish is the brussel sprouts - it always has something funky in it - marshmellows or grapes and then cheese. It was so enjoyable and they truly believed in their culinary art. I've always appreciated their evolution of their dishes and it was never boring to come back again and again. I truly hope the owners are able to create another restaurant as creative as this one and make it last. I really truly enjoyed this!

We booked a Happy Hour reservation for the long Sunday Easter long weekend at 4:30pm and we were the first to arrive. As Salt & Brick has an evolving fresh sheet menu, you never know what's on the menu but they usually have a few staples like their Brussel sprouts. As this was my boyfriend's first time here, we ordered the Brussell sprouts with popcorn and the Rigatoni. We were given the regular menu but did inquire about Happy Hour and the Brussel sprouts, pastas, and charcuterie board were on special. Unfortunately, they didn't have any oysters available that day. Small cozy atmosphere with a cute front porch. It's a small bar and kitchen that you can see and wonderful that you see and hear all the food being freshly made to order. Our server was friendly, chatty, and attentive but also gave us our space too. The Brussel sprouts served with cheddar popcorn, grapes, and ripped beer cheese is a bit salty, sweet, and so satisfying! My partner doesn't love Brussel sprouts but really enjoyed this dish. The Rigatoni was a bit rich with a nettle became sauce but served with the earthy lily spears, it was a well rounded dish altogether that we also enjoyed. Cute restaurant on the Downtown main strip that isn't a major chain, which is refreshing. Will continue to visit next time in town and hopefully they will have oysters then!

No kind hosting convo, which at 5:30 pm shouldn't be too difficult. She handed us a children's colouring sheet menu for our little one but when we realized she wasn't going to bring us crayons we got up to ask for some to be told they've been breaking them In half so they are out. When we ordered a couple of the 'famous fish and chips' it was so disappointing, no seasoning, just a bland fish with a crispy coating. how in the world is this order so popular!? I had to ask for malt vinegar to get some sort of flavour besides the lemon I squeezed on it. We also had ordered the pizza for the table to share and it was so overly chewy and hard with again, no seasoning that the 4 year old couldn't eat it and that was a huge sign that the dinner was an epic failure. It was my choice to come to that restaurant as it was my birthday but we definitely agreed it was a waste of birthday dinner and will not be returning. I spoke to the server and she saw the food left at the table and that we weren't going to stay to even have a birthday dessert (...and I always get dessert when I'm on vacation!) she gave our bill a discount which was helpful bc we still had to go get our little one a meal she would enjoy. If you want a great tasting meal for you and your family, go to Black Diamond, the service was amazing and friendly, they even walked us to our table. The signature ribs were delicious and they even brought out our dessert with a little candle celebrating our daughter's special day. If you have a cold you may enjoy this spot, but if you like flavour, I do not recommend you wasting a reso on this spot.

Not complaining about families, just not something you want to sit beside all the time when there's just two of you. Our server, Madison, was great - attentive, helpful and friendly. We tried the Korean Cauliflower, it was mostly crispy and tasty - recommended . The Patatas Bravas were good - basically a large bowl of roasted fingerling potatoes - they are best when mixed as the tomato sauce at bottom of dish. We tried the daily bread expecting delicious homemade crusty bread - it was corn bread and was ok tasting but lame for the price. None of the food we tried was bad but it wasn't excellent either - we'll be back to try some other menu items. The winner here is dessert and something I would recommend you go here for = the S'mores. They are great. Cook the homemade marshmallows at your table, yes I just said homemade marshmallows - this was the best marshmallow we have ever eaten. Kids love it, adults love it. Go here, you'll love it. It's ridiculous, messy and awesome. Enjoy!

They offer a happy hour menu, which is something not many winery restaurants do, and that's one of the things I like about this place. The restaurant has a fantastic view overlooking the lake and the winery, with a sophisticated ambiance and a super-nice patio. My partner ordered the fish tacos from the happy hour menu. I chose the smoked Lambwich, which featured smoked lamb shoulder, Kentucky BBQ dipping sauce, pickled pepperoncini, lettuce, and mayo on a soft, delicious bun. The fish tacos were made with salmon, lettuce, peluvian dressing and topped with tempura bits. Using salmon for tacos was unique, and it was very flavorful and tasted great. The Lambwich featured pulled lamb and plenty of spicy pickles. The sauce was quite thick, and the side of fries was a bit too salty. To pair with wine, I would have preferred a lighter taste. However, since it's a casual meat sandwich, I think the robust flavor was fitting. We had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, which was just great. It had a nice crispness with a lovely fruit flavor, pairing perfectly with our meals. I really loved that wine. Overall, I can't fully judge this restaurant based on the casual dishes we ordered. We'll definitely go back to try other main dishes and appetizers. I'm already looking forward to returning.
