Speakeasy in the basement of Crown & Thieves Winery!…read more This speakeasy transports you back to the prohibition era. The servers are dressed in flapper attire, and they offer cabaret performances after the winery closes (see events calendar)! Their simple menu consists of classic cocktails, I ordered the Bees Knees. Snacks include pork rinds, fries, and other nibbles. Happy hour is half off bottles of wine from 3pm- 5pm. They also have events listed on a monthly calendar posted in crown &thieves and all of their sister wineries (ie. The hatch, the hatchery etc). Definitely worth a visit during your trip to the Okanagan!

BEST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!…read more Tiana was an amazing server, she explained all of the dishes in depth and seemed genuinely excited about everything. Service 10/10 We got 8 different dishes to show amongst 5 of us. The ribs were phenomenal, so were the pot stickers, dumplings and fried rice. Everything was to die for. My family was raving about this meal and we all agreed it was the best we've all ever had. The tiramisu was amazing. We sat outside and the patio was beautiful. The music was amazing; which is rare. I would recommend this restaurant to everybody who comes to Penticton.

Their interpretation of ceviche was beautiful, they offer it with a Thai twist, coconut milk and basil. The drinks were great. Our server Maria was phenomenal, classy and professional. We also ordered the Asian Greens which we also highly recommend. We also tried the soy chicken, which was prepared sous vide style, and made for a very interesting and creative dish. The other main we tried was the ginger scallion crab, which was Italian inspired but with Asian ingredients, such as black bean paste, a lovely dish. The portions were huge, so consider sharing. The tiramisu was also very. We highly recommend this spot and will return when back in town.

We like it so much we went back the next night. It was late, but the server went in the back to see if the kitchen would still make us food. They did! We have the chicken sandwich and the fried tofu. It's a fairly small space, most of which centers around the bar, which suits us to a tee. The service was really great, the vibe what we had hoped for, and the food was fantastic. The cocktail selection is varied and fun, if maybe a little pricey. The Pork Mushroom pate with the Crostini was amazing, and something we will try and replicate at home for sure. We also got the blackened Shishito peppers with a verde mayo and lime. We'd not had those peppers before, and they were delicious. The Pumpkin seed pesto Spaetzle and the elk steak went well together as well. Not our first spaetzle as we make it at home quite a bit, but our first exposure to elk, and it was excellent. It consisted of a winter salad ($5), linguine carbonara ($25) and toblerone mousse ($5) for a total of $35. The starter salad was delicious, it consisted of gorgonzola, hazelnut, pear dressing and fresh pear. There was the perfect amount of gorgonzola, I actually want to take notes and make this salad at home in the future. The dessert was delicious, consisting of pear butter, fresh pear, hazelnut sponge and chantilly. Together, they were definitely worth $5 each. However, the Liguine Carbonara missed the mark. It was supposed to have Gunaciale, a rich, fatty cured italian pork product. However, I had a SINGLE small piece in my carbonara beneath the arugula. My cousin who ordered the exact same thing had 8+ pieces. The linguine itself tasted house made.. however the carbonara was extremely bland. I didn't taste any salt, pepper or cheese. I was very disappointed to pay $25 for a small portion, that didn't have any flavour nor meat. For me to be disappointed with food while drunk speaks volumes. I think this restaurant has potential. Service was great. I would be willing to return again and try something else.
