We all know Moxies is a chain, so the experience can be fantastic to not great. We feel the chains get a bad rap, because typically you know what you are getting. Our lunch at the Kelowna Moxies on Cooper was great this afternoon. The place was renovated in January 2022, so it's quite new and up to date with all the modern look you'd expect. Turns out, you can also expect a great meal with very good service that doesn't take very long. Our server was engaging, funny, and a Leafs fan. I guess you can't have it all lol. My Avocado Bacon Cobb salad was a departure for me, and excellent. The lovely K had the Pork Miso Ramen, which was also great. Only drawback for me, was that menu illustrated the dish with a runny egg, which was not the case. A small quibble perhaps, but a little detail like that tells you how close they got to making it perfect. We'll most certainly be back! read more

Wow! Had a stellar experience being served by Sarah C who rocked our birthday party of 8 people and a baby. Service was absolutely amazing and the food and drinks great. The space is huuuuge and very clean and posh looking. I got a watermelon sangria and the chicken lettuce wraps and loved both. The watermelon sangria was definitely on the watermelon side which was nice from tasting the deep notes of a red wine sangria. Refreshing! The chicken lettuce wraps are from the appetizers but I was full by the end of it and they were so flavourful even without the sauce (but I'm a sauce boss and loved the sauce on top too) We ended on a great big slice of mocha ice cream cake and lemme tell you this cake rivals my favourite Dairy Queen ice cream cake read more

Here's the rub. You're grumpy, you're hungry and you had the worst service from a neighbouring establishment in recent memory. What do you? Well, you gamble and I will admit. It paid off. Food is an adventure and it's what brings people together. That's the whole point, give your eater a story, a sensation and Moxies did that. On this lazy Tuesday afternoon I decided I needed a steak. Doesn't have to be amazing, but it does have to be crafted with attention and respect. Pretty much what I got was that. There is a way to order a steak when you have been completely defeated by the days culinary jaunt. You just admit defeat and put your faith in a good chef's capable hands. Lets start with the view. Usual modern flair, wicker furniture outside, comfy lazy seats. Somewhere between a casual lounge and a resort style eatery. Clean, open and well designed. Wasn't stuck up it's own ass. Knew what it was and who it needed to be serving. Crew: Professional and casual. Mariah, my server, was polite and cordial. She had a crinkle in her nose when she laughed, showed character but also maturity. ( it was endearing ) This is what you want in a waitress. Friendly, easy going, seasoned and focused. Engagement was very good. Well trained staff that trust their food. So if you are expecting a waitress to ask you how everything is every 15 minutes. This isn't the place, they allow you to enjoy your food. If you trust your food and service staff, easy peasy. Well done staff , thank you. Food: Here it is. I went with the signature Mushroom Sirloin w/ bleu cheese butter and it was well, great.Paired with a Moxies Lemonade and amber ale. I loved everything about it. It wasn't overly done up and you could tell Chef had a bit of fun with their work. All of which was appreciated. There is a trust between Chef and the eater. Sometimes it's a win, sometimes it's a bust. The steak was done as requested but allowing some free creativity. This time it was a win and I am glad I took it. Presentation was neat and concise without going overboard. Simple but with just enough flair to keep you interested. Drinks: Usual fair, lagers, ales, cocktails and wine. I had the Signature lemonade made with Tito's vodka. Good, not insanely amazing but did the job. Conclusion: Need a casual place to have a smart, clean lunch or resort style dinner? Moxies. Not over priced but not under priced. It knows what it is and who they are catering to. It's a place where you can hear people talk about pickle ball or what's next in their respective industries. It's a place that adores mingling but has enough casual appeal to leave you alone. It's smart, it's self aware and not gonna lie, that steak was fucking good. Well done. read more

This is definitely our new favorite go to place! We went for the 1st time when we came to Kelowna on vacation. Everyone extremely welcoming and following strict Covid procedures. Our waiter Kazuya was awesome, coming at just the right time for drink refills, etc. We started with nachos and wings, best nachos ever! We had the Sirloin, New York steak, Fettucine and Beef Vindaloo. Everything was cooked to perfection. The manager Kalen stopped by to make sure we were happy and treated us to a $10 off for our next visit. We loved it so much that we went back for our last night. We all had the steaks this time because they were SOOO good. We had Aariana for our server this time. She was also excellent. Kazuya and Kalen also remembered us from before and stopped by, treating us like family. Great job guys! read more

Nice modern decor. I ordered half a rack of baby back ribs. Pretty good. Standard box restaurant food. Nothing to complain about. Service was good. Very attentive. I guess cuz it was a Sunday night the restaurant was only half full so she had more time for us! The message here is if you're not a risk taker, Moxie's is a good safe bet! read more

Our experience the other night was mixed. Our server Stef was good but everything else was not worth the money. Rubber calamari, super overpriced salty nachos with cheese and not much else. Ribs were average, but my side of coleslaw was bitter and underdressed and my side potatoes were hard. My daughters ordered the alfredo with linguine subbed for penne. Those dishes were good. The teriyaki stir fry and the fish tacos were ok. If the prices were better, i could have given it a three star...but higher prices = higher expectations. read more

We did not have reservations but went in and the seemingly friendly staff said it would be a 20-25 min wait so we said we'd wait. After five minutes of waiting they came back and said there was an unexpected change and it would be 45 minutes. And the employee said, "and even when you get to your table it will be a long wait for food because the kitchen is so busy". I understand if they were understaffed but the restaurant had many open tables and I felt like they decided we were not the people they wanted in the restaurant. Who undersells their business like that? The owner/employer should know that staff literally encouraged us to leave. It was extremely insulting. I chose this place for a date night with the lady of my dreams. This chain never dissapoints. The food is always top notch. The service was friendly and the waitresses take the time to check on you and your needs as they pass by, even if it isn't their table. I was pleased to see the atmosphere had not changed much as it was a favorite years ago when I lived in a different city. Although the waitresses are easy on the eyes, it is my opinion that they should not all be made to wear the same skimpy clothing. A bit more coverage and diversity would have been nice to see. I had a burger with lettuce instead of a bun. Not only did it taste fantastic, I must also applaud the ingenuity and creativity of the menu. The drinks were also very satisfying. Food, service, drinks, environment and staff are outstanding! The patio and the misters are perfect on a hot Kelowna day. I have allergies & sensitivities and they take care of those issues well. The staff were great when I brought an issue to their attention and went above and beyond my expectation to correct it. I have brought in a party of 50 & a party of 2 and will do that again. On Fridays they have a dj spinning. Its a great venue to host a celebration - reserve the private room. My dinner recomendation would be to order the ginger & jalapeno calamari, the seared ginger tuna salad and have a tequila with lemon, lime, mint & soda. read more

Moxies is one of those pervasive franchise type of restarurants. They've been open in Kelowna for several years. Found ourselves there last Saturday (Nov 20). It was fairly busy but not entirely unexpected on a weekend at 6 pm. We took the hostess' advice and had a seat in the bar while we aited for our pager to ring. I think its the first time I had to pay the bar bill separately as opposed to just having it added to the total bill at the end of the night. Inconvenient but not the worst of the experience. My wifes beer glass was dirty enough that you could feel the dried up grunge on the outside of the glass. I guess that explains why we noted a server use her finger to wipe clean the inside of a wine glass as she took it and a carafe on a tray to a customer. but still, that's not the worst, I think they forgot about us, we must've waited 45 minutes in the bar, even the bartender thought it was too long and went to check. Moments later we were offered a table...in the bar! WTF! No, we'd like a dining room table we informed them, That took a few more minutes.. Eventually seated we perused the menu which honestly, isn't very exciting mainly burgers and steaks. My wife noticed the sandwich part of the menu and was dissappointed to see that it was only active until 4pm so she ordered some sort of chicken mango thing that was ...meh, lets just say its description was better than the product. I had the veal and bocconcin meatballs on linguine which comes with garlic bread, nothin' else. But as we waited we noticed plates after plate of meals from the sandwich menu getting delivered. We asked about it and were told that we could have ordered from it. So, the 4pm thing is there just to fool the customer? At any rate it was literally two and a half hours we'd love to get back. Inexcusable for the type of place that Moxies is. If you want appies and expensive drinks in dirty glasses, go for it, party on but if you are looking for value and expected service pass on this place. read more

Nice modern decor and patio, tasty well portioned food. The serving staff was friendly, but unorganized and confused. Twice a waitress brought the wrong food to our table. All of my cutlery was cleared from the table prior to my meal. I had to wait several minutes after my food was delivered to receive a new set of cutlery. read more

Had a Birthday Dinner there last night for six people. The service was great and attentive, but not in a constantly bugging you sort of way. The food was alright and the portions were big. I gave three stars as overall the meal was pricey and really did not stand out taste wise. But I would recommend it for a date night. read more

We went at about 8:30pm. Waited a long time to be seated. Finally seated server went over drink specalials. Awesome. Then another lady wanted to tell us again we politely stopped her and said we just were told. Then she continued to tell us. I guess she didn't understand us. Then made us wait way to long to come back and order our drinks. We also made food order then. Then when our food came we had no steak knifes. By the time she came to see how it was all we each had on our plate was a steak. She did apologize but still it was dead and no reason to be treated like This. My steak was cooked correct. To much salt on it. As well since we had to wait so long for the knife our mushrooms were a Lil soggy. The visit before we order the skillet of mushrooms and totally forgot my friends bread. Wasbt a biggie to him but we paid for it. The food is great and service is good a popular times and days but outside of that everyone but cooks really need improvement. The food was good but the service was terrible. I normally am not one to complain or write bad reviews but I was appalled at how we were treated. The waitstaff very obviously would gossip about our table right in front of us. We did our best to be a good table and make it easier on them serving us, but it didn't seem to help. They rolled their eyes at us, snarled as they spoke to us, were constantly glaring at us, and just seemed to make an effort to make us feel unwanted. One of the members of our party was greeted by them pointing at her and snarling, then they both rolled their eyes before seating her. It was like we were brought back to high school again and we're surrounded by the mean girls. I was disgusted and don't even think the kick-ass lettuce wraps are worth coming back for. read more

We've been to Moxie's a few times and the food quality is very hit or miss. Last night I tried the Prawn and Lobster Linguine and it was ok but for $23 I got 3 small prawns and a baby lobster tail. Service is also hit or miss at Moxie's, sometimes great buy unfortunately not so great last night. Our server was not all that friendly and made us feel rushed even tho Her section was about 2/3 empty. For this price range there are a few other chain restaurants around town like Cactus Club and Milestones. Probably won't visit this location for a little while. read more
