We have been here many times over the last year and never disappointed! The restaurant is spacious and nicely decorated. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The food has been consistently tasty during each visit. I cannot get enough of the Shrimp and Grits! It's such a delicious dish and they get it just right every time. I tried The Mill on two different occasions, both being on weekdays. I love to support local businesses and had been eager to give them a try when they opened. My first visit was on 8.16 which was the first day of school. I ordered a chai tea latte with almond milk which I sent back because it tasted like water. They were offering half off mimosas so I ordered one and it was good. For my meal, I ordered the breakfast combo and chose eggs, 2 chicken sausages, country potatoes, and a waffle. My husband ordered brisket & grits and egg bowl which comes with a mixed green salad. My potatoes were over cooked & extra crispy so half were inedible. I was not a fan of the chicken sausage either but the waffle had a good flavor. My husband liked his food but had to add salt & pepper for flavor. Our next visit was on 8.31. I ordered the shrimp & grits bowl and my husband ordered the burger with fries. My shrimp was not flavorful and even though it looked like it was seasoned, I had to add salt & pepper to my food to make it taste good. The salad was light & refreshing. My husband didn't like his unseasoned burger and said he'd had better burgers at McDonalds. Ouch. Overall, it's a cute spot with lots of opportunities to get your pics for social media. My first time at The Mill I did a to-go order and it really wasn't that bad. I didn't read the reviews before I came cus i didn't want to spoil anything and not be biased in my review. My boyfriend had the B&G w/ cheese grits and he rated it a 7.5 he said the seasoning on the grits are different and different doesn't always mean good. I had the potatoes with egg and cheese and 2 pancakes. The potatoes were actually seasoned just like i like them and not just with salt and pepper it was more spices added. The eggs i ordered soft scrambled with cheese were good but you really can't mess up eggs. I also had the grits which i didn't like, they're just different....the pancakes with alright i prefer buttermilk and i could tell they weren't. The highlight of my experience was the peach Bellini i love me a frozen drank. Really sweet and juicy, i could tell it was made with love. It did seem busy in the restaurant and it appeared to be like there was a wait for customers who were dining in so just be mindful of the time you'll need to spend it's not going to be a quick experience. read more

Lacked some things to give it more stars. This brunch restaurant was OK, but it just didn't have a wow factor or anything to send it to that next level. The wait time was to be expected on a Saturday late morning, and we hung out for about an hour before getting seated. The service was great, and I appreciated the waitress making specific suggestions on what to order. I usually opt for biscuits and gravy if the gravy is homemade, but the waitress didn't know if the gravy was instant or freshly made, so I skipped it (requested a side to try). I opted for the brunch burger, and my husband ordered the brisket grits. The interior is high ceiling (noisy) with a clean modern rustic feel. My husband said the grits were good, a little dry, but he likes them like that. Better than some other places he has had, but a bit overpriced at $19 for the package. Lacked that unique 'mmm' factor, but a decent choice if cheesy grits are your thing! Pappadeaux or Seven Mile is still far better on that end. My burger lacked beefy, juicy flavor to the point I thought at first maybe it was a frozen patty, but apparently not? Maybe a super lean patty? It was not very flavorful, very firm and just meh. My Burger "bar" is fairly high with options out there like Rodeo Goat, JDs, and Jon's Grille, so that is where I'm coming from. The potatoes were under done and feel like Our Place nearby has better ones with the peppers and onions (more flavor). The gravy IS DEFINITELY made from instant, and I'd say if you have a bar for gravy, just know it's no Seven Mile or other true homemade gravy, which was disappointing considering how simple it is to make. At best, it may have a half and half mix in there, half instant and half zhuzhed up? Ultimately, it was good but not great and for the price, Our Place may have some at-par options for slightly less $, without an hour wait (not that our bill was too much at $40 for 2 meals with 2 drinks). The Mill does offer boozy brunch options, so if drinking is your thing, this might be a good spot for you! If you're a foodie with a high bar, you won't find the sweet spot here and Hearth Cafe may be closer your liking for the immediate area. read more

We come in with a party of 6, like decent people, we call ahead, the hostess decide to put a 2 top in the big booth (weird move but okay), so we sat and waited for a table to open up for 45 minutes. Our waitress took 25 minutes to get out water, and when she did she brought out 5, had to wait another 10 for the last one. The food was good, but overpriced. The Managers never came by to see how things were, the alcoholic drinks came out AFTER the food was delivered, our servers swapped after the initial order and we didn't have anyone for 20 minutes. I wouldn't tell anyone about this place. It's not an environment I'd like to ever be in or around ever again. 10/10 would avoid like the plague. Either the managerial staff fix it, or they can just go ahead and close shop early, saving them time, energy and money. read more

New restaurant on East Broad! Its still a fairly new establishment and it is super busy - be prepared to wait 45min-1 hour for a table on the weekend. The wait staff is doing a great job keeping up with all the customers. The only complaint/reason why I can't give 5 stars was the quality of my food. I ordered the egg sandwich with caramelized onions (this is how it is described on the menu), but the onions very only very lightly sautéed. This changes the whole flavor profile of the sandwich. My husband ordered the ranch hand skillet with extra crispy potatoes and an over easy egg. The potatoes were soggy and the egg was over hard. We also had a 10 minute gap in between both entrees being served so my food was cold.
