This is a nice place but they should honor their posted hours and not just lock the door when it suits them

We had an amazing experience at this restaurant. In addition to the food being amazing, our waitress was very personable. We dined with our 5 year old daughter, who was carrying her brand new Reese's peanut butter cup wallet. Our waitress, Sarah, was so thoughtful, she gave my daughter a one dollar bill to put in her wallet. She made her day and our experience was that much better. Highly recommend if you're in town and want to have a great meal and great drinks. read more

I was very anxious to try this place during my trip and was glad I got the opportunity. Reservations are recommended and having one enabled us to get seated right away. There are two dining levels offering indoor and patio seating. They also have a full bar. During the day they serve brunch on weekends which was the timing of our visit. I definitely had my eyes on the crabcake sandwich and fries which is what the both of us ordered. It took a little while to get the food but it did not disappoint! Portion sizes are generous. My sandwich was so good-made with real crabmeat! I got so many fries that were delicious that I just couldn't finish them. We had great service by a very attentive waitress. The Mill has a great vibe and good atmosphere. The restaurant is located on Old Chocolate Ave not far from downtown Hershey and Hershey park. Definitely recommend! read more

I was so happy to find The Mill on my last visit to Hershey. The staff were SO DARN NICE and competent! The decor was very relaxing and (though I didn't get to sit there) the quasi-outdoor seating downstairs looked awesome! Now I'm a Maryland guy and as such am kind of a snob about crab cakes. Theirs were pretty good but to call them "lump" is a stretch. That's all I'm going to say since I only ordered them because I was in a rush and I knew the kitchen could crank them out quickly. Normally, I only order crab cakes when I'm in Maryland. BUT...I did watch a ton of other food go out to other tables that looked NUTS and I was sad that I didn't have time to try any of them. I'm sure that I will get suckered into driving one or more of my kids back to Hershey and I will be coming back to The Mill to try some of their other items out. If you haven't been to The Mill yet or are in from out of town, try it. It's a very relaxing and lovely place to eat a meal. read more

We came here based on a recommendation from the hotel concierge we were staying at as well as the reviews we saw online. The restaurant is very spacious and has a very nice design. There is two main floors and we sat on the bottom floor at a high table which I didn't really like as it felt like we were seated at a bar and not a nice dining table when there were plenty available. The menu offers a good selection of starters and entrees. We ordered the Mediterranean sampler which had fried halloumi cheese, spanakopita, lamb meatballs, red pepper hummus, and olives. The best part in our opinion was the fried cheese. The lamb meatballs, red pepper hummus and spanakopita lacked flavor overall which was disappointing. Also the starter came out at the exact same time as our entrees which was poor timing and was never acknowledged by our server. I ordered the beef brisket which came with brussel sprouts and Mac and cheese. The brisket was very good however the brussel sprouts and Mac and cheese did not have any flavor. My wife ordered the Caesar salad which was ok but again the dressing lacked flavor. Overall the food was bland and for $100 for two people to eat I would have expected a better experience and better tasting food. I would not recommend based on the price. The staff was friendly overall but could have been better by recognizing the issue with the appetizer coming out at the same time as our meals. read more

The Mill is an absolute banger, yall!!! This is a DON'T Miss meal if you're visiting Hershey. We had 6 different entrees and a couple of appetizers ....all of them were smack your mama two times good! If you're going out to eat in the Hershey area and you're not eating at the Mill, I have to question what you're doing with your life The service was great and the cocktails were tasty and flowing perfectly on time. read more

When my husband and I went there it was a bad experience and I was never back because the food I ordered didn't come out as it was supposed to and the chef was disrespectful enough to send the wait staff with a separate item that was supposed to be on my food in a tin and they brought it out to me. That's all I have to say. read more

The mill has been on my list to try for a while and it did not disappoint!! There is a large parking lot on site which was great because they were very busy. Even with how busy they were, service was great. Very attentive. I got the seasonal Carmel apple mimosa, we shared the donut holes and then i also enjoyed the eggs Benedict. The mimosa was excellent. So well balanced and perfect for fall. The donut holes were incredible. I should have ordered two servings as my main. And the Benedict was also delicious but the really super star was the seasoned breakfast potatoes. Incredible! Looking forward to coming back. read more

We had an amazing experience at The Mill! We had a diner who has soy and dairy allergies and when calling to ask about these issues as well as our server Colin made sure that these dietary issues were dealt with. We were very impressed! read more

Gosh I feel like most restaurants in and around Hershey are expensive. This is no exception. It was the only place that accepted reservations. Ordered: HOUSE SMOKED BRISKET -Mill Mac & Cheese, Green Beans, Black Pepper BBQ, Creamy Horseradish. It was over salted and the portion size for $31 was a bit disappointing. Drinks: THE DIRTY SPICY PICKLE - Tito's Organic Vodka, Fresh Dill, Spicy Pickle Juice - This was surprisingly good. Dessert: MATT'S PEANUT BUTTER PIE - Oreo Crust, Chocolate Sauce - meh nothing earth shattering. Service: she was super sweet but super slow....food took forever. Parking: Plenty in private lot. A solid 3 stars. read more

Food not only looked good when it came out, but was delicious! I will definitely be back!!

Great atmosphere and great food. The calamari was light and delicious crispy and well seasoned with fried peppers. The deviled eggs were also delicious a creamy filling with a sweet pickle relish with micro greens on top a delish bite. The clementine salad was excellent bright crunchy greens with feta pistachios with a great vinaigrette refreshing The halibut was perfectly cooked lightly seasoned so you tasted the mild flavor the duchess potatoes was crunchy and herbaceous Really a great meal read more

I'm a little late in posting my review. My daughter and I went here for Mother's Day dinner in May . It was fantastic! I ordered the filet and it was delicious! The homemade bread pudding dessert with the homemade ice cream is out of this world ! The service is excellent! I don't remember the name of our server but she was so sweet and very knowledgeable of the area. She even gave us breakfast places to try which we did the next day . When I am back in Pennsylvania, I will definitely be making a reservation at The Mill again ! Cocktails are excellent as well . read more

The bar: clearly focused on maximizing profit. This is the worst type of bar - tons of effort and money invested in creating a beautiful bar space and zero effort placed into crafting quality drinks. I am not expecting the Aviary but please at least do the basics well. The absolute worst Old fashioned that I have ever had. Was probably 40% ice, 30% soda water and 30% ingredients intended for an old fashioned. Other members in the group also commented that the cocktails were very watered down. Food: The table shared the sort rib and was very tasty. It had the perfect balance of sweet/ salty/ savory. Everything else we ordered was mediocre at best. Service: average but clearly not knowledgeable Atmosphere: absolutely beautiful restaurant read more

Very nice ambiance with excellent service. The food was fairly middle of the road ... had the brisket which was super Smokey but overcooked. The Mac and cheese was cold and the fried onions soggy. Had a bottled beer that was barely chilled. The worst part was the check ... felt quite overpriced for the quality of the food. Wouldn't go back. read more

I'm not sure why this place has so much hype. I have gone 3 times and two of them, the service has been awful. The food is overpriced. The server actually argued with me over something in the bill this most recent time (and I was correct). I went with a party of 8. They got the order incorrect and also let us know that they would not split our check. She didn't come get our order for 10-15 mins after we were all seated. She dropped the appetizer off without any plates. It wasn't even that busy! She didn't check on us after the food came. It was just very lazy service..I've been a server so I understand. You better bet she got a $100 tip because of the gratuity rule for big parties. It felt like she could treat us like crap because her tip was in the bag. The food was really good. That's the only reason why I give it two stars instead of one. I won't be back. Even if someone begs me. In retrospect, maybe we should have asked to speak with the manager before we left. But I was so mad!! I didn't want to talk to them. The only thing that made it ok was the company and the food food. read more

Went here on a Thursday night with co-workers. There was over eight of us in the group. We sat outside at a big table. Service was good. The orders were accurate and the waiter was friendly. I ordered the shrimp and grits. It was good. I'd get it again. I also got the humus appetizer. That had some amazing flavors. Others liked it as well. I bit disappointed the waiter was unwilling to split out the bill. We all ended up having to fork out our cash. read more

We love The Mill! Theres always something new and different on the menu so choosing is always so hard. The Calamari is light and crispy and the citrus aioli is to die for. Wish they'd bottle it and sell it! The Brisket and Pork Chops are always delicious and don't get me started on the Creme Brûlée! Fantastic! There's been a few aspects to certain dishes that I haven't cared for - but that's not necessarily a knock to the restaurant. Perhaps I just didn't care for vadouvan! read more

This place honestly has pretty good food and you can't really go wrong with your selection, but you might end up paying a pretty penny. Bottom Line: Friendly service and comforting food served in a beautifully restored mill. Thanks to Yelp my husband and I discovered The Mill for lunch on a cold November day. I really enjoy American history so I loved the historic mill which has been beautifully restored and is nestled along side the railroad tracks like any good mill is. Aside from admiring the details of the physical building, I enjoyed looking out the window and watching the dairy trucks pass with fresh milk bound for the Hershey factory. It was very quaint. Everyone at The Mill was very friendly. The hostess gave us a nice history of the building supplemented by written history that our server provided. As first time visitors our server also walked us through the menu with her recommendations. For our meal my husband and I split the fried chicken sandwich with homemade chips and the Mill Burger with sweet potato fries. The bourbon slaw and maple mayo on the chicken sandwich was a nice edition. The burger was draped in aged cheddar and really hit the spot! We had a hard time deciding which was our favorite but you can't go wrong with either. The Mill has a scratch kitchen and it shows. Overall, we had s terrific experience and I would love to come back for brunch. read more

The Mill. This is a cute place in Hershey, Pa. If you're passing through to get to Philadelphia, York, or something, I recommend to stop here for a bit to eat or a drink. Today, I went there for my birthday brunch and the service was great. I started off with a pineapple mimosa and many were to follow. I then had the Berry Pancakes. These were absolutely delicious. it has a berry and cream cheese finish and it was out of this world. If you like something sweet, I recommend that dish. I also had bacon, eggs and potatoes on the side. The potatoes were nice and seasoned. My friends that I went with enjoyed their meals as well and we felt so welcomed by our server. This was actually my second time at The Mill but was downstairs which has a different vibe than upstairs. Again, If you're in the area and want a cute date night or a spontaneous happy hour, visit The Mill. I do recommend making reservations. read more

Party of three. I ordered the cheeseburger which lacked flavor. Was expecting more farm to table taste. Our server was very rushed and unpersonable, focused on the large party sitting next to us and all flustered and crabby. Will not return. read more

We had an amazing enjoyable experience at The Mill. First the decor and ambiance are incredible. If it's a nice night or good weather try to get seating on the lower level. I love low humidity summer or all days when you can eat outside. The service was exceptional. Our waitress was attentive and caring. The other employees were caring and responsive. My son accidentally spilled water everywhere. It was immediately cleaned up and new napkins and utensils brought to us. Even the food runners were polite, greeted you with a warm smile and overall pleasant demeanor. The star of the show was the food! I got the brisket which was one of the best I ever had! Tender and seasoned. The Mac n cheese tasted like it was made by someone's grandma! My wife loved her salmon. The fries were delicious and flavored well. The cocktails were simple exceptional! Great flavor but not overly sweet. I would enthusiasticly recommend The Mill. read more

Finally back at the Mill first time since pandemic. They really expanded their outdoor seating and covered the area it looks great! We ate inside and our server was new, but friendly and had many recommendations. We had cocktails, mine with gin and my friend's with vodka, both tasty. We tried the Queso Fundido which was a very cheesy dip with tortilla chips. I had the curried vegetables which were delish. It was such a huge potion I couldn't eat it all. They also allow substitutions on any menu item which is great. I definitely recommend The Mill when in Hershey, it really is in a unique building and comprises 3 floors of an actual old mill. Can't wait to try their new outdoor patio. read more

My first time at The Mill - the food, the hospitality, and the environment are all amazing. I would definitely come back.

Went for happy hour which they have at the bar upstairs and downstairs, and the downstairs outdoor patio. We sat downstairs at the outdoor patio and it was perfect for a summer day! They have a 1/2 select cocktails, beer and wine specials, and specials on appetizers. I got the lychee mojito ($8.50 on HH) which was sweet but potent. For food, I got the brisket nachos off the HH specials menu ($8) which was perfect for sharing between 2 people or for you to indulge in by yourself. The staff was also attentive and sweet. Overall a great happy hour deal. read more

First of all, let me start by saying this pains me to write this, as The Mill was our favorite restaurant in Hershey for the last 10 years. Within the last 2 years, everything has gone down hill -- the food is very inconsistent - for example, why would you change the go-to brisket at all?! The quality of the dishes doesn't line up with the price increases (at all). The bartenders are a joke - they are completely incapable of making a quality, classic cocktail. They seem to just throw things together to make something "look nice" on the Facebook posts, and when you order the actual drink, it is awful and ridiculously overpriced. Certain servers push you into ordering the $14-$17 cocktails, and shame on me for falling for it and hoping it would be worth it again and again. The ambiance is still great - both inside and outside p, but the decline in the quality of food and drinks, and the recent staff hires over the last 2 years is disappointing and ruining a once great thing. read more

Food was very good had the pork chop. The glaze was very good and made the dish. Atmosphere was nice and relaxed. They did struggle with any substitutions, plus they had no specials. Ran out the night before waiter said. Will give it another try. read more

Went here for a team dinner of 11 people. They easily accommodated us in the stone and thick wooden beamed adorned dining room. Through sharing, I tried a variety of cocktails including their version of a dirty martini with a house made pickle, briny and clean, the jalapeno margarita, herbaceous and slightly spicy, and the elder garden, a gin based drink with bitterness contrasted by St. Germain. They are famous for their low and slow brisket. Most of us ordered it. Serving sizes vary depending on how much fat is in the cut and they are happy to compensate if you want a leaner slice. It has a more pot roast feel and flavor rather than a BBQ one, but the texture was spot on with large shreds of moist, flavorful beef. Great and friendly service, delicious food and drinks. Well worth a stop in. read more

Terrific atmosphere! This restaurant is very charming with beautiful decor. Service and staff are second to none - - - very accommodating, friendly and a classy team. The appetizers were delicious, especially, the cheese (queso) dip and brisket flat bread. The main entrees were good but the steaks and chicken were quite bland. The chef needs to put some salt or glaze in the meat with some sort of wine sauce - - - more flavor is a must! read more

Decor/service: very nice decor with very friendly staff. Multiple floors as well as an outdoor seating area. Plenty of bar seats on each floor! Food: not a bad bite was had. The chorizo queso was excellent and had a perfect flavor. All it needs is better possibly homemade chips and it would be an amazing appetizer. The scallops were cooked well which is always a plus as most places struggle with that. The chicken dish was also good but the outside of the chicken was a little to tough but the flavor was there and the sauce was amazing but there wasn't enough of it. Mashed potatoes were good but the carrots lacked anything special. For dessert the peanut butter pie was excellent and I'd say a must get. This was a tough review as it was very tough to being 5 stars but not quite. Will return for sure! read more

This place was a great choice that my boo had picked for us to eat at for lunch after we went to the zoo. When we arrived it wasn't crowded so there wasn't a wait to be seated. The restaurant has three levels and we were taken downstairs to the first level which seemed to be a bit dark and had a romantic feel. The waitress was very friendly and told us about the specials of the day- but I already knew what I wanted cause I worked up an appetite doing all the walking at the zoo. I ordered a black and bleu burger and it had not only hamburger meat on it. It also had brisket on it, with bacon cheese and a sauce. It came with fresh cut seasoned fries and I ordered an iced tea. The burger was dripping and tasted delicious and the fries were even better. By the time we were done eating- we were too stuffed to get dessert. And the burger was so big I had some to take home to eat later. If I'm ever in Hershey again- this would be a spot I'd go to. read more
