It's been many years since I've dined at MP, and boy, did I reminisce. I love the new additions to cooking options. We were a party of 4, so we had the option of 2 different pots for each course. We started with the cheddar and the fig/brie. The fig/brie option was divine. Everyone's favorite. We also love the California salad, and the "select your own" entree. I chose Ahi tuna, duck, and filet. We had the Mojo broth in one pot, and used the new grill option on the other burner. The perfect choices! We had the crème brûlée and snorted pots for dessert. We were visiting one of the local casino resorts and the Maricopa area and we used to have melting pots down in Tucson so we decided to go to the one in Phoenix. We were happy to see that we were getting Priscilla because I had seen her name mentioned on Yelp when I was looking for directions. Her service was just as good as the reviews that I had read. We did the four course meal with the salads that cheese, fondue the meats and a chocolate fondue at the end. It's amazing just how you get filled up eating not smaller portions but little bit longer in between each meal than when it's all brought to you one after the other. Horrible experience. Easter Sunday. My youngest, 12 years old had never been to melting pot and I thought it would be a unique experience and to not cook at home for the two of us. (Typically, I don't like to go out to eat on Holidays because it's always disappointing; should have know better.) My oldest unexpectedly showed up from college, not hungry (and not feeling well from his festivities the night before) but wanted to go with us. They were able to make accommodations for the 3 of us instead of 2. That's all the good I have to say. My youngest and I decided on the Easter special, and my oldest literally wanted a salad and bread. After they served us our first course, the waiter comes back to tell me the chef states everyone at the table has to eat the same menu item. He offered to bring back the menus to choose something else. My youngest and I came here for fondue, not a salad and bread as my oldest wanted. This was not a matter of cost for me; I can more than afford to take my children to have a nice meal on a regular basis. This was a matter of my oldest son's stomach needed settled and wasn't going to be able to eat the full, heavy, multiple courses of fondue. This response from the waiter ensued an argument at the table between us. My son offered to sit in the car until after our meal was over. Absolutely ridiculous that he should be forced to eat the same thing that he didn't want to eat or leave the table and sit in the car on Easter; fondue is not a quick meal. We won't be back and I will share my experience/opinions with others. I ended up paying for the Easter special for 3. My oldest had a salad and a few pieces of bread (plain bread, no fondue; too heavy). That's it. So, shame on this establishment for not being able to provide appropriate customer service. For once in a long while, everyone in our family had a free evening so we decided to have some yummy fondue. We had a reservation (thinking it was for Restaurant Week) and were seated promptly upon our arrival. I made the mistake on the dates for Restaurant Week which hadn't started yet, but that's ok. The whole restaurant was quite empty. We were given a table with two warmers which was great for our family of 4. Our server was super attentive and upbeat. She was great when asked about recommendations for her favorite cheese flavors. We. ordered the 4-course deal for all of us. Ultimately, we opted for the Quattro Formaggia and Classic Alpine. Both were delicious. Be forewarned that the first course alone will fill you up faster than you expect from dipping bread and fruits in the cheese. The salads were yummy as the next course. The meat selection was up next. My son and I chose the Pacific Rim which includes ahi tuna, shrimp, duck breast, and teriyaki beef. My daughter and hubby chose the steak lovers which comes with selections of various cuts of steak (go figure). I didn't care for the duck breast which was more due to my own taste and not owing to anything from the restaurant, but the rest of these were awesome. Last but not least, the chocolate fondue! We chose the Yin Yang and the Flaming Turtle. This was a perfect ending to the meal. Even though we were all pretty full, we finished off everything with the marshmallows, Rice Krispie treats, strawberries, bananas, pound cake, brownie and blondies. So decadent and delicious. We love how the bathrooms were so clean and elegant. They nicely have cute items for your experience including floss, chapstick, hair ties, mini emery boards, hand lotion, mouthwash and feminine hygiene products for the women's bathroom. Nice touch especially if you are out on a date and need to freshen up. This is always a unique way to eat out. We had a great experience. They lose a star because we realized when receiving the check, the server had uncharged our order by charging us for 2 of the 4 course meals rather than just adding the 2 additional people for one of the 2 person meals (which is what I had asked for to add the kids). This resulted in an extra $25 of charges, but it was really too late to complain about this at that point. read more
