Food Coma Alert: you have just about a 100% chance of going into food coma after eating at the Melting Pot, and that's a good thing every so often! We went there this week with two friends at the VIP dinner experience, and we really enjoyed it. We were well taken care of from the moment we arrived to the time we stumbled out after that food hangover! If you've never been, it's worth checking it out. You get options involving many items to dip in melted cheese, as well as various meats and vegetables to dip in hot broth options. Then, after that's over, it is time for dessert items dipped in hot molten chocolate. No one at our table drinks alcohol, but I enjoyed a couple of mocktails that were delicious. The Melting Pot is an intimate dining experience which is reminiscent of hot pot. For those new to this like myself, you basically get a pot that sits in the middle of your table that is constantly heated. The 3 types of pots are cheese, soup, and chocolate. You choose the type of cheese you want and then they put it in a pot for it to melt hence the name of their establishment. Each type of pot will come with dipping options. For instance, my cheese pot came with vegetables, bread, and nacho chips. For the soup, you choose one of their bases and then it will come with various options from beef, seafood, vegetables, and chicken. And lastly, the chocolate pot will come with fruits, and various snacks. My personal biggest issue is that a large majority of the dipping options are either average or below average quality. Basically, they just feel like things you would buy at an Albertsons. The best parts of this whole endeavor were the cheese and the chocolate. This is one of those places that really suffers from a plethora of choices but almost all of those choices are not of high quality especially when this whole thing cost me around $65. If you've never tried hot pot, I think this might be worth trying just for the novelty since most other hot pot places are just soup dishes and here you at least get cheese and chocolate but one can argue you can get great nachos and chocolate somewhere else. And finally, service was quite amiable but inattentive. read more

The melting pot was never a place that appealed to me but after being gifted with a certificate, here I am! The food itself was underwhelming. I didn't try the cheese fondue, the main course meats weren't particularly flavorful, and for the cost, the portions felt small. Drinks were extremely watered down. Servers were polite and responsive. Overall this is an experience that you're honestly paying way too much for. If quality of food matters, this is not the option for you. read more

I stopped by The Melting Pot for the first time and tried their special "Down to Fondue" happy hour, which offers 50% off cheese and chocolate fondue in the bar area! Our server, Emily M., was fantastic and provided excellent recommendations. We started with the Fiesta Cheese Fondue, which was absolutely awesome and packed with flavor. For dessert, we went with the Flaming Turtle chocolate fondue. It was decadent and delicious, though slightly on the sweeter side due to the sweet sides provided. My friend and I had a lovely experience visiting Melting Pot last night in wanting to enjoy the national cheese week promo. Jade, our server, was lovely, friendly, informative, and attentive. Super appreciated her, and her manager Melissa was such a warm, cheerful, friendly face as she stopped by our table to check on our experience. All-over great experience by service, 5 stars for the people! Overall I'd give food 3-4 stars as the flavor profiles blended together and did not hold their taste as well as I hoped at first. We went with the Alpine cheese which was tasty but didn't love the consistency as much as we tried to adjust it to preference. Would probably try cheddar next time to compare. Went with the combo of teriyaki-glazed steak, peppered steak, and duck. The steak were flavored well but quickly seemed to dry up once in heat. The duck was flavored with something like a rosemary or thyme that I wasn't keen on. I find the price point too high for the culinary experience. Was definitely an interesting one. First off I need to note that dinner was about 3 hours long from start to finish. I'm not sure why, even the drinks took a long time to come out, and everything else was not cooked... The food was decent- it really isn't anything amazing, but it's an experience and easy for a group as everyone gets to make what they would like. We had a few pots and were able to even try the vegan cheese which had the weirdest texture- def do not recommended. I did LOVE the dessert pot- I would come back just for that alone! Love how the food comes out in courses, but it is plenty of food. it took us about two hours to get through everything but the made for a really nice experience where you get to try and enjoy everything. We were seated in a private booth with curtains to ensure privacy for our anniversary dinner. As new members of Club Fondue, we also received complimentary chocolate dipped strawberries. Foodserver lady was great, wish I could remember her name. WAY too much food, I might almost suggest to see if four people can split one of the "4-Course meals for 2". A bit on the pricey side; but it's valid that we had a couple drinks and added the lobster. We have been here a few times before over the years on special occasions. Our servers (they team up) who are sisters were fantastic, attentive, friendly, and gave us tips and tricks to move through the multi-course meal at a quicker, yet enjoyable speed (for the kids).
