A Ruined Birthday Experience. My Reservations were for 12 July at 4pm and I arrived at the restaurant at about 3:50pm and entered. I checked in with the front-end person to inform them of my arrival and reservation. She found my name and informed me that the dining room was not yet open and that it would be open at 4pm. There were others waiting as well. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and upon my return there were others waiting too. A few minutes after 4pm they began calling names. All names were called by last name. Everyone was called and seated, including those that arrived after me. I was the last remaining person to be seated. They finally called me by my first name and took me over to be seated. They attempted to seat my right next to a large party. I requested that I be placed away stating that I did not want to be next to the group. She replied that they had no other servers and it may be a while. Within moments she sat me one table away. Why was I the last to be seated? The server finally came over and began his routine. I didn't like how he made sure to state over and over how the sides are not included and they all cost extra. I assure you that I can afford to eat at your establishment. He was very set on pushing the del monico steak. I had already stated that I wanted the Ribeye. I agreed to listen to the del monico explanation where he shared that the filet had no fat and the ribeye had lots of fat. The del monica was right in the middle. After the sales pitch, I was again set on the Ribeye. Not sure that he agreed with my choice, because he continued by stating that I must like my steak with lots of fat. The order was placed, not to his liking yet I was there for my enjoyment. Along with the steak I ordered a cup of clam chowder and side of asparagus. The clam chowder was not as flavorful as I had hoped for. The asparagus was under prepared. It was as if I was eating them raw, very crunchy. They did have nice flavor though. The server was informed that I was there for a Ribeye and a specialty drink. We had already discussed the steak so now for the drink. When I asked about the drinks, he just showed me the menu. I had already seen the menu on both sides yet I wasn't sure what drink I wanted. I explained again that I wasn't sure, yet I was hoping for a specialty drink. By this time other places begin suggesting specialty drinks based on my liking. That is the case when I visit Capital Grill in Scottsdale. Now when I visit there the server knows my drink. Today this server only stated that they have a full bar so once I decide I can order. So he was not helpful at all in that area of the restaurant. I thought a server would be knowledgeable enough to be able to make suggestions or recommendations and advise & inform me about the bar. What are the customer favorites? What has the bar come up with that customers like most? I saw on the website some drinks that looked interesting, yet I never saw any names attached to them. The server never came back after taking my order unless flagged by me. First, I called him when I had to show him the steak asking if that was Medium well. He stated no. Second was when I called him over to ask for a to go box for my steak. By 5pm I was not enjoying myself, so I decided to depart. The steak had to be sent back two times. The first after asking the server is this Medium well? He noticed how rare it was and took the steak back. When it came back a female in tan brought it back and asked me to check it. I cut it and again it was still rare. She picked it up asking if I wanted her to cook up a fresh steak. Without hearing my reply, she departed with the steak. Upon her return I noticed that she brought back the same steak. I cut into it and it was ok enough. I just wanted to eat. The steak was not as perfect as I had hoped for even after the trip back to the kitchen two times. That was the reason that I was at a so-called high-end restaurant, I wanted to enjoy a high-quality steak prepared perfectly with outstanding texture and taste. That was not the case here. The steak was a bit tough and chewy. I have returned a steak a few times but never twice at the same place. Doesn't the cook know when the steak is prepared as ordered? To order a steak at Texas Roadhouse means you will get exactly what you ordered with a very high 90 plus percent of the time. Not one person stopped by my table to ask how everything was going or how I was. Every place else I have visited at least the server will ask. Wasn't there a manager making rounds checking on their restaurant? This place showed me they just don't care about people or only the select people maybe. As a Veteran I don't ask for much, just treat me with dignity and respect. I remained calm and was trying to enjoy the meal. It has been 8 years since we came here for our 44th anniversary. We are now celebrating our 52nd. We arrived and the restaurant has the same high-class look on the outside as well as the inside. Our server, Jessie, greeted us and welcomed us back after hearing our history here. We were served water as we looked over the menu. Complimentary bread was brought as we reviewed the menu. Cocktails were offered and appetizers. Colossal shrimp appetizer was our choice. It arrived and tasted wonderful. Our salads were brought as we finished our shrimp cocktail. Small house salad and the AG salad. Both were fresh and each had a very tasty vinaigrette dressing, different for each. The servings were large, we decided to leave room for our entrees. Entrees were 8oz filet mignon, med rare with loaded baked potato and the 14oz Delmonico, med rare with caramelized mushrooms and onions. Both were cooked to perfection. Tender and seasoned great. Delicious! Since we were celebrating our anniversary we were brought their infamous butter cake, with ice cream and assorted berries. Our experience this trip was as wonderful as our first. Went for my wife's 40th bday and the experience was just, meh. For the 4 of us, with tip the bill came out to almost $700, which is expected for this type of restaurant, but the service was just ok and the food wasn't by any stretch worth that price. We showed up early and told the hostess it was our first time and we wanted to stop by the bar and grab drinks, she mentioned there being no seating in the bar, but I didnt realize that also meant at the bar top. We said that is fine, we will go to the bar top and she reacted like we insulted her family name, the gentlemen up front must of realized it and apologized and explained what she meant, but still, it was an odd reaction. The filet my wife got was comparable to one we get from our local butcher, their specialty bar drinks weren't great either. I dot their specialty steak, the Delmonico, medium rare, it is a center cut baseball sirloin. Meaning really thick, which was fine it ended up being a tougher piece of meat than I expected and was actually cool in the center, which is probably expected given the thickness. I added the Cajun shrimp, what they don't explain on the menu is that adding the shrimp means they will bring the steak out in a cast iron boat floating in about a pound of Cajun butter. The shrimp was over cooked and hard, and I didnt expect to have my steak soaked in butter. The sides were also soaked in butter and mostly flavorless, outside of the brussel sprouts, those were pretty good. We did enjoy our desserts, outside of the butter cake, which is a cake soaked in butter, you have to eat it warm, I made the mistake of eating a partial bite and left my fork out for a few min and ate the rest and it was like chewing a stick of butter. I have never had butter cake, so lesson learned. The ice cream cookie and the brownie cake was good. The restaurant is very dark to the point nearly every table had to use a flashlight to read the menu, it is also very loud, but maybe that was more where we were sitting than anything. Overall, we won't be back and will go someplace else for our special occasion dinners. For the price I shouldn't get home feeling a family steakhouse would have been better. read more

Dining experience was wonderful. The decor is what you would imagine of a classic steak house. The food service was fast for our party of 11. The portions were generous for the appetizers and sides. We had a few tomahawk steaks for the table, the steaks were tender and juicy. They were a little under seasoned but was still delicious. The prices are on the higher side as it came out to be about 120 per person. Would definitely make a great spot for date night. We discovered this place through an online review video, and overall, our experience was very pleasant. Many of the items were quite good, and a few were truly great , just as described in the reviews that initially brought us in. The calamari was very fresh and practically melted in your mouth. We did wish, however, that the calamari and the squid/baby corn had been a bit crispier, as the exterior felt slightly soft for a fried dish. The Filet Mignon was excellent , well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Each bite was incredibly tender, breaking apart effortlessly and remaining very juicy. The AG Mashed Potatoes were also delicious: smooth, rich, and buttery, with the perfect balance of bacon and cheese mixed in. We also tried the Porterhouse, which was nicely seasoned and had a beautiful char. The ambiance and overall energy of the restaurant felt intimate and classy, creating a wonderful first impression from the moment we walked in, especially with the fountain wall at the entrance. One small area we felt could be improved was the service pace. The waitstaff was kind and attentive, checking in on us and offering recommendations, which we truly appreciated. At times, though, interactions felt a bit rushed , almost as if they were in a hurry to step away before we could fully respond. This is completely understandable on a busy night, though we were told it was a relatively slow evening. Still, we do want to give credit where it's due, as our server was helpful with menu suggestions and answered our questions well. Overall, this experience was very close to a five-star visit. My cousin took me here for my birthday. The steak and the sauces were amazing. So was the bread, the asparagus and the deserts. We were outside on the patio and because that area is directly off the road I was concerned it would be loud from traffic. It wasn't. The decorative barrier wall also buffered the noise. Came in for Mother's Day today and left underwhelmed by the food. To get this out of the way: the service was incredible, the staff were helpful and amazing. We started with a crab cake and we're a bit disappointed. It had none of the firmness I expect from a crab cake, it just crumbled immediately. Our salads (Caesar and house) were very tasty and made fresh. For entrees we had the Delmonico steak (med-rare) and salmon. The salmon was truly flavorless; there were plenty of herbs on it, but they didn't taste at all like dill or anything flavorful, and zero butter flavor. The steak was an amazingly tender cut and cooked well, but it definitely needed more seasoning (the menu spoke of a "crust" bit there was no such thing). We also ordered a baked potato and the creamed spinach. The potato was massive and tasted quite good, but it was definitely nothing special, but the creamed spinach was truly delicious. For dessert, we had the butter cake and brownie, both with ice cream, and each was phenomenal. Overall, I would look to give this meal 4-stars, but I have to take into account that we paid $340 for this meal; there's simply no way I can give 4-stars for this food after paying that amount of money. read more

I ordered the 8 oz filet medium rare and I have to say it was cooked perfectly it was so beautiful and tasted fantastic it was really the star of the show. I also had the Macadamia crusted halibut which also tasted great, however it did lack something when I mentioned it to Jen the manager she was so accommodating and brought over a very nice Blanc sauce that paired beautifully with the fish. Our family went to lunch there for Mother's Day and the service and food were superb. The warm bread service was delightful and just right: airy with the right crispness in the exterior and soft in the middle. The crab cakes are delicious, plenty of crab, light, and not dry yet also not mushy. Fresh, sweet tasting crab, and in substantial enough pieces that you're not searching. Not bready, bricky, or crumbly. Delicate, delicious. As East Coasters we are super picky about our crab cakes and we always get them when dining there. No joke, I sometimes dream about them! We shared the rack of lamb as our main. Well seasoned and juicy. My mom, my 3 year old, and I had plenty to eat. This particular portion size is a full rack so plenty for all of us to share. We really appreciate that they don't rub down the rack with mustard like some places--just a great spice rub. The creamed spinach and mashed potatoes were both excellent sides - solid for a steakhouse experience. Same with the iced tea - solid. Back to the kiddo: I noticed she wasn't the only young child there. This place manages to maintain a classy, elegant atmosphere even with all the kids. (There weren't nearly as many when we went for a birthday earlier in the year). But we loved that, even with the vibe of the place, they still offered children's drinks in nicely sealed cups. Relief! Restrooms were clean, hostesses and management were as pleasant and lovely as the server, food runners were prompt and thoughtful. Had dinner here previously when we came to Peoria for Spring Training. The meal was excellent again. I ordered the New York steak and my wife ordered the signature Delmonico steak. Both were cooked perfectly. The seasoning on my steak was perfect. We ordered the kumamoto oysters for appetizers (can't go wrong with Kumamotos). We ordered the artichoke appetizer as a side dish along with a loaded baked potato. We were kinda stuffed but couldn't pass up the signature dessert of Butter Cake with fresh fruit and vanilla ice cream. Megan, our server, was the best. The prices are reasonable and the menu has a wide selection. The ONLY ding I could give them is that most of their appetizers are seafood. Our server was on it with constant refills the bus guy (didn't catch his name) made sure our table and others were squared away and kept them good for the next person to come and enjoy, he was also polite and welcoming.
