Welcome to MPK. First timers here. My 88 year old mom and me. Let's start with... Great service. At 1 pm on a Thursday. You can order from tablets stationed on table near the entrance. Or you can order from the nice young man behind the counter. I opted for the personable and helpful young man. You get a beeper once you have ordered, the thing started buzzing and lighting up after 10 to 12 short minutes ...I was about to get up from my seat to retrieve the food trays but the same fella who took my order delivered our food to our table. Nice. Patty Melt. My mom loves them and she knows a good one...this sandwich made her eyes light up with joy. Also the French fries, crispy thin...quality ingredients you can taste. I personally tried the patty melt later as a late-night leftover...I agreed it was good, but a bit salty to me. Mom disagreed. The burger was a juicy medium well...I would have preferred a medium. It had a good texture, it was cheesy too. But it was kinda buttery/greasy as a leftover. When she ate it fresh, it was perfect though her napkin did wick up a bit of grease/butter. She was happy and told me to give the food a 5/5 star score. I saw how huge the burgers were, so I decided to order a cheeseburger off the kids meal...it was a single patty, bun and cheese...done medium well....definitely a cut above most fast food. I asked for a side of crispy onions....which ate like the French's salad topping you can buy from the nearby supermarket. My burger was 4/5...probably I could have added some more free fixings, next time. We had the lemonade and strawberry lemonade, you help yourself from the open frigerator in front of ordering counter...I thought the drinks were too sweet so it went better after I added the water from the soda fountain. There is also a craft soda fountain dispenser, and plastic cups at the condiment station, if you wanted water. It's filtered water and it was ice cold. Yay for the cold water!! I loved they provide compostible to go containers, I hope they transition to compostible utensils eventually...and exit all the plastics. But A for the effort, much appreciated. Overall, a spacious dining area. Seats not so comfy but the interior is well designed and the exterior al fresco dining day or night was inviting, but not on a 90 degree humid day. We really enjoyed our experience at The Melt. And we loved the samples of chocolate chip cookie fragments, associates showed up tableside, twice, to offer us a sampling of a very chocolate-y cookie. 5/5 for the free sample, and for the texture and taste of the cookie!!

Monterey Park have a new burger establishment called The Melt it's located where the old Boston Market used to stand there. I heard of the Melt from Goodday L.A. they notice they opening a Melt restaurant in Monterey Park. Now it's open my wife and I decided to try out the food to see it's worth it about the hype. The outside of the restaurant look very nice but the inside is very marksble with great invasion to more modern from other restaurants. We're greet it by the staff say welcome to the melt,we look at the menu display and also have menu you look at. My wife decided to order the Meltburger single with a side salad comes with pickle and spicy pickle some sort. I order the melted sandwich it's called the Three cheese classic it's a classic cheese sandwich then I order tomatoe soup by the side to make the childhood classic. We're surprise there no Coke or Pepsi machine but new competitor to soft drink war the new competitors is called Almeda soda Craft soda made with pure cane sugar. The craft soda were very impressive taste that blow our taste bud away amazing good. Then our buzzer alert us our meal was real to pick up. The food was looks incredible good especially the cheese sandwich and tomato soup. I took a bite of cheese sandwich wow very cheesy with intense flavor in the three cheese that all three in incredible bite with the dip tomato soup it open my eyes so much goodness bring back old memories. The tomato soup it hard to explain it's so good. My wife love her Melt burger she incredible good so much flavor in the burger and she also enjoy the side salad. One the staff of Melt was passing sample of thier freshly baked chocolate chip cookie,we love the cookie it feel like freshly baked at home. Overall we enjoy the food and thank the staff of Melt being friendly and a smile.

While I'd prefer to see the old Boston Market back, it's great to see a new business breathe life into this space. It's a welcome addition to the neighborhood, especially for those of us looking for late-night dining options beyond the usual spots like Raising Cane's or The Hat. I stopped by on a Wednesday night around 10 p.m. to grab a quick bite and tried their #1 fan favorite, the Meltburger ($10.79). Given the current economy, the price point for a 1/3 lb burger made with Angus and Wagyu beef felt very fair. The flavor profile--featuring aged cheddar, Melt sauce, and a mild jalapeño-pickle mix--was solid, though the burger itself was a bit too oily for my personal preference. The service was friendly, though the kitchen seemed a little slow considering the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. I'm sure they'll find their rhythm as they settle in, and I hope they have great success here in Monterey Park. I'll definitely be back to give them another shot!

Solid addition to Monterey Park! And I believe currently the only Melt in the 626. I was lucky enough to score a $10 voucher for our meal from the Monterey Park Library (thank you literacy supporters!) and it made our $27 almost $30 meal to $17, but it is a quite a pricey burger for a casual fast food restaurant (not even a sit down), so just keep that in mind. BUT! They are some fine, delicious burgers and quite easily shareable and sizeable too. They just opened and we came on a Wednesday around 7 PM, so it was quite packed and busy. I'm assuming growing pains, so be kind to the workers, Lots of trash in the dining room and overflowing trashcans and the utensils and soda fountain area can be a bit cleaner, but, again, growing pains and it was a packed house. Hopefully they'll have more staff and things will calm down eventually. You can order from the kiosk, they have an app for ordering ahead, or you can order from the cashier. They have a screen showing order status from EVERY source (in person, various food delivery apps, etc.). If you're dining in, they give you a buzzer. For our dinner, we got the: 1) Swiss 'n' Shroom Melt Burger: -This is a 1/3 angus and wagyu beef burger (we got this medium), chopped and grilled with 2 slices of Swiss cheese, spinach and grilled mushrooms, crispy onions, ranch on an artisan bun. Comes with a half pickle spear. -We also got the free add-ons like lettuce, tomato, onions. -Friend devoured this and we were eyeing the last 1/4 that we were saving for a friend who was going to show up. -Regardless it's a huge burger, more than enough to share between 2 people and if I had it by myself I would only be able to finish 1/2 of it, 3/4 at best, and save the rest for later. Tender and juicy beef patty. Not too salty, which is great. Nice mushroom flavor without being too "earthy", and not overly greasy or oily either. Went great with the other toppings and textures too. 2) Sweet Potato fries: -Solid sweet potato fries. Decent amount of fries. Went great with ketchup. Needed carbs with our meal, not mind blowing. We also got a soda cup and the fountain drinks are craft style sodas. Ginger beer, root beer, black cherry soda, and much more. Pretty good stuff. Wouldn't mind coming back and trying more of their menu when I want to splurge on a nicer burger in the area.

The Original. With lettuce and tomato

The Melt has been open for a few weeks now in Monterey Park, replacing what used to be Boston Market. The restaurant has been heavily marketing its burgers and sandwiches to SGV locals, so I decided to give it a try. As a brand new establishment, the staff is super nice and welcoming here. I got to try a cookie sample and the cookies here are tasty. The restaurant is also very clean and modern. I ended up ordering the Original with lettuce and tomato. The burger alone was more than enough to fill me for lunch. I find smash patties to be way too popular these days, so I was happy that The Melt did not use a smash patty. The burger, as marketed, is just the slightest bit pink. The patty is super juicy. The overall sandwich is just slightly too greasy for me, but packed with flavor. I'd rather it be a bit too greasy than to be eating a dry burger patty. Overall, amazing burger that is close to me.

    CHEDDAR BACON RANCH FRIES
    Brad D.

I had a craving for cheese fries, which might have been the first time having that craving. I stopped by to get them to go. I ordered "cheese fries" and noticed the register show "CHEDDAR BACON RANCH FRIES". I started to say I just want cheese, but thought I might ask we'll try them. They were okay. I like flavor and seasoning, but this was intense. IMO these are for sharing with other people - it's just too much otherwise. I know, I know - it's in the name, but even fries themself have green flecks of whatever. I'll probably come back and try a burger, but likely won't order the cheddar bacon ranch fries again.

Our first time trying it. After getting a good taste of what we ordered (a double burger, fries, a patty melt, mini Mac & cheese.. can of Coke and a strawberry lemonade for $48!?), we concluded that the theme was: too much. The patties were HUGE (1/3 lb) and everything just felt greasy. The mac was soupy with large noodles. The best thing out of everything was the strawberry lemonade. Would definitely go back for one of those, but otherwise the food wasn't something I need in my life. The inside was beautiful, but I do miss the Boston Market that was here. The staff are young and nice, but I didn't feel the welcome you get at neighboring Raising Canes. Had to try this place, nonetheless, but nothing really jumped out at me to hook me in. On to the next taste someplace else!

I was super excited to know that the melt was coming to Monterey park! I love their cheesy sandwiches and tomato soup! But since it was so hot, I opted to skip that and get their other sides. My toddler loved the Mac and cheese here, and that bbq bacon burger was so good. My father got a fajita melt, which was also pretty good, but not quite my jam. But if you love fajitas, that one is definitely calling your name. The bacon ranch fries were also delicious. I loved how cheesy they're were, and made for the perfect side. Can't wait to go back!

My first time having the chance to try The Melt. It was a great experience. They are still getting things more smooth as they open September 1 for their grand opening. Since it has been so hot they were offering everyone in line waters and tried to get the line if people to try to wait inside to get some ac. Really nice if the staff and manager. I tried the portabella double, w a strawberry lemonade. Both were great, the burger was huge, I think I could just get a single next time. The strawberry lemonade was unique, the strawberries reminded my of the strawberries you eat from the Marie Calendars Strawberry Pie.. I also got a side of the loaded fries, quite a lot of food but I finished it all. They were giving some samples of their cookies, crispy outside w a gooey inside. This brand new location was clean and had plenty of seating. Thanks for making my first Melt experience a great one will def be back. Until next time.

This location of The Melt just opened, and I believe they are still in their soft opening. It's located in Monterey Park. The interior is modernized, and everything looks clean and well-kept. The menu is pretty much burgers or cheese sandwiches, and overall, everything is pretty good. I tried out a few items, and these are my thoughts. MeltBurger - It's a solid burger. It's quite greasy, but it had tons of flavor. If you like heavy cheeseburgers, this is worth a try. (3.5/5) Steak & Cheese Sandwich - I liked this one better. It was slightly lighter, though still pretty heavy. Pretty cheesy, but no cheese pull. Overall, we liked it. (4/5) Cheddar Bacon Ranch Fries - Unique and tasty. Pretty loaded, and the flavors were nice. Solid. (4.5/5) Mini Mac - The mac and cheese was solid. A good mix of cheesy goodness without being overpowering. (4.5/5) Strawberry Lemonade - Quite sweet, but it had huge chunks of strawberry. Tasty. (4.5/5) Strawberry Milkshake - Creamy and not too thick. I personally really enjoyed it. Tasty. (4.5/5) Overall, a delicious spot if you enjoy eating cheesy things. Personally, it's a bit too greasy for me to come here often, but the flavors were good for a once in a while eat. Nice spot to try.

First time at The Melt, recently opened. Ordering was a breeze, simple menu and lots of choices for burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries and mac-n-cheeses. My wife and I ordered the spicy burger and a double melt burger with garlic parmesan fries and 2 sodas (self serve at the dispenser). Food came out rather promptly and we sat in the dining area to eat. The double burger was super juicy and cooked to medium as requested. The burger normally comes with just meat and cheese so you have to add any other toppings, which I did. I added tomatoes and lettuce and raw onions. My wife's spicy burger came with jalapeño slices (not spicy at all). Both burgers came with a slice of pickle. The garlic parmesan fries were large enough to be shareable but I could have easily finished them myself, and I'm not a large guy who eats a lot. But they were very garlicky and pretty delicious and crispy. I will be back to try the chicken sandwich and the Mac-n-cheese. The service from the staff was friendly and they all had pleasant smiles! One server even walked around the dining area and offered diners some chocolate chip cookie samples. Thank you! Ambiance was rather calm and quiet. Only negative note I have to add is that the ice machine at the soda dispenser wasn't working/had no ice in it, so no ice for our sodas.

Service 1/5 Food 4/5 Ambiance 4/5! Ok service was definitely a miss today, we waked in, and there's two registers open and we waited, cool one person in front of us, both registers were being used, so we were the 4th in line while 2 being serviced, one ahead of us. When it got to us only, the girl in front of our register didn't acknowledge, didn't look up, saw us and kept us waiting. Instead of taking us, she just kept looking over the other register like she can't do this on her own. After two kind of us patiently waiting, her other coworker, that looks like a supervisor, tells her very he'll these guests (us), then she proceeds to help us with an apology. Really weird. I then asked how many days are they open, she says day 2, (the supervisor) Ok I'll give them that. But some of their staff definitely needs some service training! No exaggeration, we stood there while the worker was completely free but just wanted to wait for someone to stand next to her to take our order for some reason. Other than that, food was decent and wanted to give this place a try! Will come back and give them another chance! I do like their fountain drinks selections, stuff I've never had before! The three cheese grilled cheese sandwich was pretty good, Chinese flavor was there and wasn't over salted. I liked the mac n cheese in a cup cuz it was like Al dente pasta, a good decent chew and it was not soggy at all. Cheese wasn't over powering. My son killed the kids burger before I even got a bite lol. Their fries are laced with some green powder. Kids still ate it all, all food items were decent! Bummer they also couldn't serve us any ice cream milk shakes, they said they ran out of the powder. I actually came just for their shake.

Claro's Italian Market originally opened in San Gabriel in 1948, delivering an affordable array of Italian ingredients, deli goods, and baked treats. After 5 generations, Claro's now operates locations across Southern California. At the San Gabriel location, you can easily park across the side street in Claro's dedicated lot. The first room is dedicated to checkout, baked goods, and wine bottles. Further down, the back room triples a pantry, a refrigerator, and a deli. The chatter among staff and customers mostly drowns out the soft background of Italian tunes. The imported Italian grocery selection is excellent by LA standards, but don't sleep on Claro's made-to-order sandwiches. Grab a slip from the ticket dispenser and browse the well-stocked refrigerator section until a staff member shouts out your number. My fiancee and I love the Spicy Mike, which immediately hits your palate with a punch of flavor. The Great Grandpa Joe is solid as well, nostalgically recalling my memories of when Subway used to be good. The Large size sandwiches are the length of your forearm, and the sauce is perfectly proportioned to ensure that the sandwiches are neither dry nor soggy. My only critique is that I prefer a seeded roll to Claro's standard crisp-and-chewy Italian roll. Nonetheless, Claro's prove that a good Italian sandwich doesn't have to be overly complicated or gimmicky, and they set a good benchmark for what a hoagie should be. In contrast, Claro's Italian pastries were "fine" at best. The cookies were dry and muted in flavor, while the Cannoli Tart missed the satisfying crunch of a classic cannoli shell. As such, I'll be sticking to groceries and sandos.

From what I've tried, it's much better quality products than the usual, less processed and fresher. I have yet to try more of their pre-packaged pastas, but I did like their pizza crust a lot but not so much the ziti (needed more salt for my taste). Their cookies are pretty good and the gelato is yummy! All in all, highly recommend Claros!

Scanned the menu and went with the crowd-favorite #56 Big Kahuna Cheese Steak. Since I skipped breakfast and was starving, I ordered the Giant size. When I got it, I was completely stunned--this thing was literally bigger than my face Quick thoughts on how it tasted: No weird sauces, and the flavors worked surprisingly well together. They went super heavy on the cheese. The beef was thinly sliced; while it wasn't super juicy, it hit the spot. The bread was toasted crispy on the outside while staying soft inside. Packed with melted cheese, onions, peppers, and mushrooms, taking a steaming-hot bite was surprisingly addictive. Was it mind-blowing? Not really. But for someone with a Chinese palate, getting something hot with no funky flavors was more than enough to satisfy me. About the price: $23.15 after tax. Given the Giant size, though, it's easily enough for two meals. My friend ordered their most famous #13 The Original Italian! As their most popular cold cut sandwich, it was packed with various Italian hams and salami. Watching the employee constantly slice meat at the counter and seeing the oven loaded with sliced bread gave off such a bustling vibe, making us guess it had to be a solid pick. After about a 5-minute wait, we got it, and my friend couldn't wait to take a big bite! The taste was pretty unexpected, though--there was some hard-to-name, strange spice inside. It tasted pretty weird and I really didn't like it; definitely not as good as the #56.

So very disappointed. Not only have I been eating here for decades, but continued to order from…read morehere pretty regularly... until they continuously messed up our order. The last 3 times they've at least attempted to rectify their mistake... meaning we had to make a 2nd trip to pick-up whatever it was they forgot. So we took a break... sad because we always enjoy the food. Foolishly, we decided to try again... and again they messed up our order... this time they didn't put chicken on our pasta. It seems whoever took the order didn't write it down... wish I could say this was a big surprise! So we were fully willing to pay the difference and make the 2nd trip once again. But because it was near closing that was not made an option... just a sorry and goodbye. So now... after 6pm on Sunday, we are thinking of what 2nd meal we will have to purchase and pick up.... because this plain pasta is just not going to feed the 2 of us. We have so few options already in Montebello and we always prefer to support local small businesses.... but REALLY??? How do you consistently get it wrong??? Well I guess quantity is more important than quality... so unfortunately now we have 1 less option.

Saw the reviews and had been recommended to check it out so I finally went. Safe to say I was satisfied. Good amount of food for what you pay. Fresh and tasty. They have some seating area inside. I walked but it seems like they have parking in the back because people were entering through the back door. I ordered the Mombo plate which is a choice of sub and 2 sides. For sub I ordered THE 58 CLASSIC and as sides I had their Garlic Pesto Potato Salad and Purple Cabbage. Both good but very garlic centered, I love garlic so I don't mind but maybe next time I'll get something else to balance it better. Service was good. They greeted and answered any questions I had and offered their advice or recommendations when I asked for some.
