Great vibes and interior decor. I love all the plants (you can buy them if you'd like!) The space is also rentable for events. Service was fine. I enjoyed my iced matcha ember (seasonal drink in March 2026) and the donut. Both were not overly sweet but tasted fresh. I like their variety of baked goods and seasonal drinks. So fun, unique flavors! Service was good. Great space on Haight St. They get busy on weekends!
Oh man, even the name reeks of Haight Ashbury, doesn't it? I mean like Summer of Love, "flowers in your hair" Haight Ashbury. Adding to the groovy vibe is the fact that It's actually a plant store. But hey, I didn't even know that when I walked in because I was focused on the industrious barista who was fulfilling all the coffee orders by herself. There was a bit of a line, but it smelled so good that I decided to order the $6.50 Vanilla Latte (Photo 10). She did a nice job, the blend was truly mellow. I was able to secure a small table, a rare occurrence since they don't allocate much space for the cafe portion of their business. An unexpected treat and no need to put flowers in your hair. COFFEE - 4 stars...quite smooth and satisfying AMBIANCE - 4 stars...nice plants SERVICE - 4.5 stars...great attitude for working solo TOTAL - 4 stars...heavy mellow, man RELATED - Exploring the Haight? The Mellow has always caught my eye every time I've been on Haight but this time I decided to stop by since it was raining and a warm drink seemed to be the perfect way to enjoy the vibes outside. As soon as you walk in you're welcomed with greenery and just a very pretty interior. There's plenty of seating inside along with plants, snacks and merch to look at. I ordered a seasonal fireside latte which had orange blossom and vanilla. It was so warming and all the flavors were perfectly balanced. I am so glad I stopped by and will definitely come again. Keep out for their seasonal menus since they seem quite unique!
Love this spot for a quick coffee and maybe a plant to go with it. The vibe inside is so great and cool. It just feels right.
Amazing décor of live plants, one can also buy the plants from what I could see too. There's a great little stage-like area, and as you walk up the lifted platform, you can see the display better! I liked their easy-simple menu and assortment of pastries. They also had some bagged snacks and a cold beverage fridge with some local vendors and healthier choices for drinks. The barista greeted me as I walked in and he bright, welcoming and cheerful! I'll definitely go back!
I was drawn in but the fun aesthic and colors! I'm not a big coffee person so I tried their matcha latte (which was great!) and a fun donut! They have some seasonal drink options too which seemed to have creative flavor combinations. Worth checking out!
The staff is very friendly, and the space itself is nice, though I wouldn't necessarily describe it as cozy. It's a fun, multi-use concept -- part coffee shop, part plant store, and even a barber space. I ordered a matcha; the flavor was good, but it stayed slightly powdery. Overall, I feel neutral about it, though I do appreciate that it's clean, which is definitely important.
Love this place. Plants and coffee. Enough said. Like the variety of plants here and it's okay if you don't buy on every single visit because it's okay to come into the shop to soak up the vibes and maybe some coffee. The pup and I like to drop by on occasion when we go exploring the Haight and Ashbury neighborhood. Peace! Located on the corner of Haight and Masonic.
the place is so beautiful, i love how they also sell plants and it just brings the cafe to life. Their drinks are pretty good and I really enjoyed my iced rose latte which you can't get everywhere. they also had plenty of seating and activities to do while you're there.
The cutest & coolest plant shop in the area with solid drinks! Really cool concept to have a little cafe in such a beautiful plantscape environment. They also had tons of trendy little items on the side to buy as well. For drinks I had the traditional hot matcha latte which comes unsweetened. You can add sugar yourself and I found that two pumps of syrup was perfect for me. It was a light matcha and very comforting. My friends enjoyed their coffees as well. We came close to closing but the workers were very accommodating nonetheless. I absolutely loved exploring the shop! Would return if I'm in the area again :)
Love this spot. Came on a Wed afternoon. They were so helpful and prices were reasonable for the health of their plants. Totally will becoming back and definitely recommend!

Matcha was not it at all. $7 for a ton of milk and a little bit of matcha. Will not be back... read more

My best friend and I wanted coffee and we came across this spot by walking around the area and I'm so glad we stopped by! It's so cute with all the plants and the high ceilings! Very aesthetically pleasing. We both got an iced matcha latte but I forgot to take pictures because we were in a rush to leave but definitely check this place out! read more

i stopped by this place on a rainy day while waiting to meet up with a friend. i've wanted to check out this place for awhile so it was perfect! i got a matcha latte and perused the shop. i asked one of the staff about my plant (i purchased it elsewhere) that seems to be struggling but he talked me through it and assured it was fine. he even said i could come back and inquire further if i was still having problems - so awesome! i appreciated the advice. the shop is so calming and mellow, true to its name. i *wish* they had a couple of chairs or small tables to hang out and enjoy the beverages, but maybe they just want folks to grab and go instead? either way, i'll def be back to get some new plant babies! read more

GORGEOUS!! This is the perfect place on Haight to browse beautiful plants, take a breather and grab a coffee. I had the rose latte and the flavor was not overwhelming at all. The focus was definitely the coffee, but the subtle rose elevated the drink. The coffee is pretty good so definitely recommend checking out if you're in the neighborhood. Nothing beats a warm latte on a cold day! Can't wait to come back to try more of their drinks and admire the plants :) read more

Environment is nice, very beautiful. My Girlfriend asked for a signature drink (iced), they gave it to her hot. She asked politely to change it because she wanted what she asked for. The barista put the hot drink into a cup of ice and called it a day. It was gross and grimey do better. She sad she wanted to like this spot. read more

I received a gift card for Christmas so I came here to get a new plant for my house. I asked for help and the gentleman behind the counter was so nice and friendly. I explained to him that I wanted a small, low maintenance plant. He was extremely knowledgeable and was able to show me a few different options. I picked one I liked and after I paid he wrapped up the plant and further explained the best way to take care of it. This place is so cute! They have a coffee kiosk inside and also have music performances on certain nights. Would definitely come back for that! read more

Just moved back to SF and since I had to leave all my plants in TX, I needed to fill up my new place. Bookmarked a bunch of plant shops and Mellow was my first stop and boy did I get lucky. My fav tree is the money tree (and olive tree) and I was thrilled to see that Mellow had really big, strong looking money trees so I picked one up. It was super affordable at only $120 for one that'll grow up to 6ft tall (Leon & George sells it online with a pot for $800!). I've only had the tree for a couple of weeks and she is thriving with amazing growth! The shop was so cool and the staff was extra helpful and friendly, carefully packaging her and placing her in my car. I also went to the Mellow in the Mission and there's just no comparison. I wish they had more locations with even more inventory. The shop is such a vibe and I'd love to see more plants, more products and it would be so cool if they had a seating area for their coffee bar to just hang out, drink coffee and plant-watch. I've since been to many top plant shops in sf and Mellow's vibe is one of my top favs. read more

Definitely love how much variety of plants the store has to offer. You can expect to see all of the usual snakes, pothos, some monsteras and cactus. Unfortunately, they don't have much pots and other plant tools. They have a coffee bar here as well, didn't try so I can't tell you if it's good. Pretty solid plant store if you're just looking to pick up a new plant. I took away 4 stars because the two guys working here were extremely unfriendly even when I said hi to them when entering the store. They practically ignore their customers and can careless if you have a question. Overall a nice selection and cute plant store but the employees really killed the vibe. read more

Day visited: Sunday Items ordered: Cortado & Iced Mocha Price (total for 2 drinks): ~$9-12 Parking: Scattered throughout the area, first come first serve with metered options available. The Mellow is a wonderful example of leading by example in terms of living up to its name! The delightfully decorated space has equal parts calming demeanor scattered throughout pockets of curiosities that excite and amaze. You feel as though you're walking through a neighborhood greenhouse that also happens to serve some delightful coffee. Despite the small bar layout (ModBar setup for those coffee folks), the drinks flowing out of there are big in flavor. The cortado was delicious, albeit a bit on the hot side, while the iced mocha had a wonderful chocolate taste that still managed to stay creamy and soothing even minutes after the initial sips. Overall, a great place to check out once in the neighborhood and somewhere to stop by on your way to the other shops along the street! read more

Such a cute plant shop, with a coffee shop inside! They had a variety of plant options and the staff were knowledgeable/helpful for plant care as well. The white chocolate mocha surprised me- it was extremely flavorful and had the perfect amount of sweetness. They also had lavender and rose lattes there that I'm looking forward to trying next visit. Overall super cute store to grab a cup of coffee and plant shop if you're around Haight Street. read more

Is there a lot of seating around?
Sorry we do not have seating as this is mainly a retail store :)
