First visit to Stuff by Luxe. Walked in and was immediately smitten by a beautiful mid century modern credenza of walnut sitting to the left of the entrance. It was in pristine shape. Went home and pondered it, researched it, and decided it was too good to pass up. This has got to be the worst antique store I have ever visited in my entire life. I assumed that because this is in a world famous city such a San Francisco, that it would contain amazing antiques and hidden gems, but all it had was insignificant items and things you can find in a low quality thrift store. What made things worse was the indifferent person at the front desk whose tone and attitude were utterly abhorrent. I walked through the entire store and I can honestly say I've seen much nicer antique stores in Arizona. They also advertise that they have a second floor, but when I went up the stairs, there was just a small room with more garbage. I don't know how they have so many reviews online but this was the most pathetic antique store I have ever visited. I don't even think you can call this an antique store. This antique store epitomizes San Francisco, an inferior damaged broken city with damaged residents who desperately want to appear classy but are broken inside. I have never been more disappointed after visiting an antique store and I'm not the least bit surprised that this experience happened in a twisted ghetto like San Francisco. Pathetic!!! read more

Beautiful mid-century wood furniture made with good quality materials and craftsmanship. There are also many home decor items, as well as Knick knacks, clothing, and accessories. Take your time to browse and also to know what to return to buy once you get a sense of the shop. Prices are on the higher side and items are in good shape,hence the price. Pros: - Overall, nice space! - Friendly staff (though I haven't had much interaction with them) Cons: - The items are generally priced too high. I know it's an expensive neighborhood, but people often go to vintage/antiques shops specifically to find good deals. - The inventory (esp. clothes, wall art and decor) doesn't change all that much; I see many of the same items month after month. I wonder: if the prices were more reasonable, would they have more luck getting inventory in and out the door? - Bargaining is often unavailable. STUFF works with 3rd party vendors, so they may not be able to bargain with you (I tried). - The store front feels a bit stale. They painted the building a fun, bright orange, and they have a great little entry outside, but there's nothing there. It's pride this weekend as I write this, and I did notice a fun rainbow outfit inside, but it's hidden way in the back....not out in front. Consider having more fun with your display space! Neither a Pro or a Con: - STUFF's primary focus is Mid-Century Modern furniture and decor. If this is your style, great! If not, there's not much else, furniture-wise. read more

Pleasantly surprised to discover an SF version of this store (there's also another one in Albany in the East Bay). I purchased a vintage Coach crossbody bag in excellent condition. This place has a great selection and a really good curation. However, the prices are way over market value and it seems you can negotiate on certain items but it's unknown on which. Prices are very high and the print I got was dirty. It's just frustrating to pay so much for a print/painting and I have to take it apart to clean it myself. Stuff is one of my favorite places to go and look at all of the items curated so nicely. I haven't been in a while, so when I pulled up on Valencia and saw that it was empty, my heart sunk. I had a friend google it and a new location came up. I was back in the game. The new location is brighter. It is smaller but I understand that they will be expanding in the near future. Everything here is mid century, a beautifully curated collection, very fair prices and great deals for really amazing finds, gorgeous furniture, this place is like a mid century museum that you can buy from. Stumbled upon the huge grand opening sign with the word "antique", so I wandered in. Wonderful range of "stuff" ranging from knick knacks, arts & paintings, furnitures and decors, glassware, jewelry, toys..... you name it. It was a great store to dial down the city pace and just explore random things. They have a great selection here so if you're in the neighborhood, highly recommend stepping in! Ha and Fred are the lovely owners of Stuff by Luxe and so far I've purchased 2 MCM marble top, teak end tables and a glass top teak credenza from them. Ha and Fred are super friendly and the store is filled with MCM gems at very reasonable prices. Fred helped me load the end tables into my car and Ha arranged same day delivery for the credenza for a fee. Ha communicated via text with me thoroughly about the delivery details up to and after delivery to make sure everything went well. The credenza was wrapped protectively and delivered by two very friendly people. I've only had great experiences with everyone at Stuff and I cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

They delivered it up to my apartment for a fee, but it was so well packaged and taken care of. I purchased this without seeing it in person but it looked just as good as it did in their photos. I was thrilled to see how much the new store has maintained that Stuff "special sauce" of high quality vintage pieces in great condition or beautifully reupholstered/restored, reasonable prices, and incredible, personable customer service. The vendors and owners clearly are so passionate about their wares, and it brings me so much joy to connect with them every time. I ended up seeing a teak dresser and set of dishes during my visit and then calling a couple days later to make the purchase over the phone. I spoke with Fred in the store and then Ha over the phone and they were both so lovely and helpful. Ha arranged for me to have the items delivered same day for $100, and they arrived within two hours of placing the order! An absolutely amazing store!! Lots of really nice furniture and the staff were very friendly, especially Ha! I've seen some reviews about them being pricey... It's a vintage/antique furniture store with very nice pieces so definitely don't go in expecting thrift store or secondhand prices but there are still many pieces that are very reasonably priced. They also deliver for a fairly small fee and with how hard it is to move furniture in the city, it's definitely a highlight of this place! read more
