post.script. (not to be confused with the now closed Postscript Coffee in Jackson Square - currently rebranded as Loveski) is a woman-owned gift shop in the Fillmore District. This cute and curated shop was was established in 2019 and mainly focuses on San Francisco-themed items and sells unique tote bags, pins, stationery, greeting cards, mini print vending machines, original artwork, home goods (e.g. scented candles), accessories, etc. This small shop carries items from 100+ brands and independent artists. This shop was quite an unexpected find and it really reminded me of some gift shops in Los Angeles that rent shelf space to independent artists and creators to showcase their work. Overall this is a great gift shop to stop by for anyone who's looking for a one-of-a-kind gift. I was so excited to come to this store. I have been seeing it online and anything to support women in business I'm there. The store is simple and a blank canvas to really let the products shine through like little works of art. Unfortunately we didn't end up purchasing due to an encounter (or lack there of with the employee working). Upon entering we said hello and were ignored, we thought maybe it was a fluke but we were the only ones in store and there was no acknowledgment even after walking around a bit. We decided to leave at that point, we said thank you as we normally do when leaving a smaller store and left and again ignored. I went into post.script. knowing that there were trendy little art vending machines inside, but also aware that I'd be completely enveloped by adorable and useful items which might've or might not have been out of my price range. I was correct and also so glad I took the time to stop in. Firstly, the store employees: Tiara and Janielle were immediately and incredibly helpful, knowing that I'd likely want quarters for the vending machines and accepting my silly $2 bills (which my father put in my stocking at Christmas because he's a prankster like that) and handing me a cup full of $6 worth of quarters while explaining the vending machine limit of 3 prints per person very kindly. I asked if it was ok if I filmed and they assured me it was totally fine! This was really cool later on, as the shop's account commented on the video that I posted and that felt very interactive! After I had used up my last quarter and gotten my 6th mini mystery print from the vending machines, I started my search for a birthday card for the previously mentioned prankster-father of mine. The selection was delightful! Perhaps not massive, but still delightful as every option was by a local artist and priced really fairly for that privilege (about $6-6.50 per greeting card, which is actually a great value). I found four birthday cards for various people in my life and two "get well" cards for a friend and my mom who are both about to have surgery. After that I started to search through the other items in the shop, of which there were MANY and the options were so incredibly cute and kitschy as well as being very usable. I didn't end up getting anything other than the greeting cards, mostly because of the pricing, but I can respect a high price-tag when it's on a locally made artisanal item. I just couldn't personally afford any of it on that particular day! My six greeting cards totaled out to $46 including tax, and I'm ok with that! I've already used one and it was appreciated greatly! I have to say that the highlight of this visit wasn't the items or the super cool mystery art vending machines, although all of that was incredibly fun and exactly what I was looking for going in.. but the staff really made me feel welcomed and hyped up and I think that the soul of a store is sometimes made or broken by it's employees and how obviously they like or dislike their jobs. These individuals obviously enjoy working here and I felt welcomed by their energetic and thoughtful interactions with me. I will absolutely return! read more

Tucked away off of busy Fillmore Street, there is a wide range of offerings packed into this small spot. The selections are well-curated and can be both practical and wonderfully decorative at the same time. During a recent trip, I picked up several of the Baggu brand reusable bags, as they carry a good selection of these bags. I also found some lovely glassware and whimsical geometric coasters for the perfect birthday gift. The staff was also helpful and courteous, as they have been on all my trips there. I saw this store on my IG back in 2020 when the world was still shut down. I immediately pinned it and said- if the world ever opens back up- I gotta go to San Fran and check it out. In 2022- I actually got to go! The store is absolutely darling. It's on the cutest street with so many adorable restaurants and cafes around it. When you walk in- it's like walking into the Moma. Everything is beautiful and high designed!!!!! It feels like a museum but a really cool one. The space is cozy and absolutely filled with some of the most unique gifts I have come across. I also loved it because it is woman owned and I got to meet Chandler when I popped in. She was so kind! I bought a bunch of chunk hair clips that I had only seen on Pinterest. It is the perfect place to pick up a unique little gift and greeting card for someone. They have a small, yet mighty and delightful selection of greeting cards designed by local / independent artists. They even have a dedicated (also teeny but I'll take it!) section with Chunks claws and clips and Baggu bags. Then of course, there are random things like candles, kitchenware, hats, socks, coasters all also by local creators. And though the store is only two aisles short, it's such a delight to peruse their carefully curated selection. Oh, and they're also currently doing a loyalty program in which for every $10 you spend, the get a stamp and when you have $90 worth of stamps you get a free gift.
