I've been meaning to leave this review for months. My daughters and I had the loveliest time at Senses for Mother's Day. They were hosting a flower crown making workshop - and although we were quite late, the staff was so welcoming and kind. We left feeling like forest nymphs. This was not our first time to the store. Every time the staff has been kind and we have enjoyed lingering. Would not believe the cruel and biased review that seems clearly targeted at the owners of the store. read more

I'm writing this review in response to Sean E.'s review and can whole heartedly say its an attempt to smear this business as being anti-Semitic, which it is NOT. In the past Senses had actually received hate mail from anonymous "neighbors" for expression solidarity with Palestinians who are experiencing a genocide right now. The owners of Senses would NEVER do what this review is accusing them of doing and I think it's a distasteful and shameful act on Sean's part for weaponizing his Jewishness to try to bring down a business that's anti-genocide. I love this place and wish I lived closer to be able to visit in person! I started purchasing from Senses as soon as they launched their online shop. The quality of the items wasn't the best, I'd recommend carefully looking over what you buy.

In a blatant act of discrimination this store saw me wearing a Star of David (I'm Jewish) and told me it's insensitive for me to be wearing that - and told me to leave and that I'm not welcome. I'm disgusted and appalled by their behavior. It felt like 1938 Germany. If you're Jewish, do not walk into this store. read more

I am so obsessed with Senses! What a beautiful selection of pieces to choose from and an incredible message of justice, dignity, and love. The owners are so sweet and make the place very welcoming and comfortable. They also host various events here, giving it even more of a community feel. The trinkets they sell are also the perfect gifts for any occasion you may have or to treat yourself (my personal favorites are the soaps from Avenoir Co and the perfumes from Andalus)! I've been to this shop only a couple of times being that I live a bit further away, but when I'm in the area I love to leave a bit of time to stop by. They have the most beautiful pieces of decor, artwork, and home goods made from different artists in different parts of the world. The inside feels so cozy, warm, and welcoming, and the employees are very lovely. The first time I was there they offered my friends and I some tea as we looked around and we had some really nice conversations, and they told us about the owners and the story behind the store. It was beautiful. There is so much heart in this place -- they put a lot of love into it which can be felt when you're there. I ended up buying a candle that smells delightful, and my one of my friends bought a travel sized perfume that smelled so amazing! I can't say enough good things about this place, the items they offer, and especially the people behind it all. I love returning to this place whenever I can, and I look forward to visiting again :) read more

Hosted a community event here last month and we all wanted to buy the entire store by the event of our event. The owners are very sweet. Ariel (one of the owners) is an insanely talented interior designer and it shows when you look around the store. They've done a great job curating the merchandise, all very elegant looking items with reasonable pricing. Plus they constantly host various events/workshops to attend. I only wish it was bigger so I could get even more goodies from them. read more

Magical spot. I write about North Beach, which has become a great place to wander and shop vintage. This is just three blocks from a vintage shop on Stockton and is a most magical place to stop, have tea, chat, sit and pick up something unique. The shop is owned by two beautiful, inspiring people and is filled with fair trade and Palestinian home goods, spiritual books, herbs, interesting pillows and home design, earrings, local pottery --and more! They even sometimes have evening events -- like a moon circle! I can't resist getting something unique every time I walk my dog there. I buy birthday gifts, housewarming gifts and I've replaced my tired mugs with ones that are incredibly unique. To top it off, they do interior design so if you are local and in need of some ideas, this is the place to stop and chat. If every local business had this amount of heart and filled their shops with goods that made a difference, the world would be a better place. Not to be missed. read more
