I love exploring quirky boutiques wherever I go - SF, LA, NYC, London, Paris, Barcelona...you get the picture. The reason behind this is because every time I enter one of these little stores, I feel like one of the characters from C.S. Lewis' characters from the Chronicles of Narnia. You know, when they enter the closet and are in a completely new world? Yeah, that's how I feel. I checked out reviews of the store and overall people raved about the place. It is divided into two stores: one for clothing and one for accessories and home furnishings. I, for one, was not impressed with the clothing store - TOTALLY NOT MY STYLE. I immediately left and went straight to the accessories store. Hallelujah and score! Everything in here was a throwback to another time period and I felt like a little kid again, playing dress up with all the beautiful, antique jewelry. I ended up buying a cute ring made out of an old typewriter key (a "C" of course ;)) I love how they support a lot of local jewelry designers! I could honestly stay in here for hours playing dress up and searching through all the drawers of jewelry. I think you should too.

Beautiful gallery, great for shopping for home decor and gifts. Love the new handmade ceramics on display. The glaze on those pieces is gorgeous.

Terribly dirty store with horrible customer service with cheap items :-( Your local thrift store has a way better selection.

And charged for the more expensive shark tooth when we bought the cheaper one. They don't have barcodes or SKU numbers. So it seems the employees are just guessing what the products are. Super cool store love it here But, my boyfriend and I were on a trip last week. Came for the first time and bought a bunch of stuff. They do not have Barcodes on the items, which is fine but if you're going to do that, make sure your employees know what is what. A easy mistake to make I'm sure, but they should probably fix there system style so mistakes like this are not easy to make. Sadly we didn't notice till we were already on our way home the next day, so there's not much we can do about it. Again all these could be fixed if they had barcodes or sku numbers. Other than that a super cool store, employees were friendly. But wish we were not overcharged for a cheaper item, and charged for something we did NOT get. Wish we could have got our money back but we don't live in San Fran.

Just around the corner in the same building as Tartine Manufactory is Heath Ceramics, located in the chic former industrial district called Potrero Hill. Stroll inside and you will find rows and rows of simple sturdy dinnerware that is thicker than most, and finished in a range of earthy subtle colors that can serve at a beautiful understated backdrop to the food that will be served upon it. Mind you, the prices aren't inexpensive here, but the quality is worth it, even for just a couple of pieces to cherish and take home. It's about $60/each for a dinner plate, with prices hovering around that for most pieces. Heath also makes a range of wall tiles, and their manufacturing facility dominated by a pair of massive kilns is just behind the glass windows. Be sure to check out the simple display area at the entrance that details the history of Heath Ceramics, with a newsstand next door too, also run by Heath Ceramics! A bit of a non-sequitur there, but cool to see also!

This is probably the most beautiful store I've ever visited. Every single tile, vase, cup, glass, bowl, etc. I saw was beyond stunning. The variety of colors and textures in this store were incredible. What's more, every piece seemed sturdily made. This store does fall on the pricier end, so be prepared to spend a pretty penny on your dream set. I really appreciated the store creating mock ups of color combinations for a bathroom, kitchen, or dining table. I was definitely daydreaming about future kitchen sets after seeing these examples. I'll be coming back in the future to invest in some beautiful glassware and ceramics. What a gorgeous store full of remarkable pieces!

There is no signage in the store or on the receipt regarding this policy. We were told we would have to speak with the owner the next day. When we went back the following day, the woman who claimed to be the owner pointed to an outdated, handwritten "HOLIDAY POLICY 2024". I told her that shouldn't apply to this purchase and it's disgraceful to be charging 4X the price and not be willing to refund. I was told that's the price you pay for being able to "touch the items" vs online purchases and she refused to budge on the store credit. DO NOT SHOP HERE! Attached is a photo which discredit's the shop's response and shows both the $76 charge and "outdated holiday return policy".
