If you need convincing of the bare food ethos (explained on their website) then just try their scone. It's vegan and made with dried fruit and nuts to replace the refined sugar that you'll normally encounter. It's definitely more nutritious than a regular scone and also won't result in a sugar crash. Anyway, the food and coffee at Bare Food don't disappoint and staff members are always friendly. Café seating, both inside and in the laneway, is comfy. A good place to spend some time. I'm giving Bare Food 4/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact for the following reasons: · Lots of vegan and vegetarian options (veggie sausage, tofu can sub for chicken in most dishes, vegan pastries, vegan butter). Eating a mostly plant-based diet is the #1 thing you can do to save the planet. · Tea is from Tea Pigs (a B-Corporation, plant-based packaging, member of ethical tea partnership) and coffee is from 8thCorner (sometimes organic) · Kombucha from SynerChi, made from organic tea in Donegal. Smoothies are made fresh, to order. · Compostable cups, but I do wish they could provide ceramic and glass for customers who sit out in the lane (A strange rule for Covid, I guess, even though it's not spread by touch). · Would like to see organic food, or some info about sourcing on the menu.

My porridge was excellent-- chocolatey, but not too sweet, and I loved the hazelnut drizzle, banana and see topping (we've replicated the recipe a couple of times since coming home). My husband's meal was also good (although not great, hence 4 stars instead of 5). The cafe's atmosphere was lovely and our server was kind and very attentive. If we're ever in the area, we will be back! It's a worthwhile stop in Drogheda.

If you are vegetarian or vegan, this is fantastic food at a great price. The folks behind the counter give very generous servings, so honestly the small plate is more than adequate. It's a no-frills place, cafeteria style, rather than a place for table service. There is no set menu, they cook what is fresh, seasonal and available, and in the evening after 7pm, they stop cooking any more food and what's left is what's available. From the dinner items I had, the rice & yellow dal was fantastic, as was the turmeric potato bake. I didn't like the chickpea + spinach dish wax much, but that cause of a personal taste preference for creamed spinach rather than boiled, as was the case with this dish. They have takeaway containers (foil) which I availed myself of, as couldn't finish everything on my plate. Overall great food at a great price, so recommend! Yelp 119 / 2019

The menu isn't all that complex--they have the usual meal with rice, lentils and a few vegetables and all you have to do is tell them if you want the small, medium, or the large plate. I went for the medium one (pictured below) and trust me, it's so filling, you'd find it difficult to walk back home. What's even cooler about this place is that they have really beautiful artwork all around you'd particularly relate to if you grew up in India. They're also super affordable at 5 euro for the small plate and 9 for the medium one. Solid 5/5.

Their food was fresh and delicious, and very reasonably priced. Tucked away down an alley (not completely unusual for Dublin), and sort of inside a yoga studio, HappyFood provides lunch during the day before the studio starts their classes. You order at the front counter and then they bring the food right to your table. The selection ranges from things like falafel wraps and burgers, to several fresh rice bowls. They mark everything on the menu very clearly with allergen symbols. What was a bit confusing to us, though, was actually how much non-veg options they normally have. We saw some notes about shellfish, but the days we were there, nothing on the menu appeared to be less the vegetarian. Nonetheless, the first time we went, I got the falafel wrap as a meal, meaning it came with a side of chips and a drink. The falafel itself was quite good, as well as all the trimmings inside. The second day, I opted for a bowl that had a delicious corn slaw and sweet potatoes (very delicious and hearty). Would recommend to anyone looking for a healthy-ish lunch, even if they're not exclusively vegetarian or vegan.

We walked about 30 minutes out of our way to go here and we ordered two 'snickers' shakes which were 5.50 each and sat down outside. The area outside is very nice, with cute tables and chairs and some nice nature elements. Unfortunately, the 'shakes' were very lackluster and didn't taste like a 'snickers' anything at all, more like a banana and cacoa smoothie. I'm giving three stars as the staff were very nice, the place was clean and tidy,it seemed very busy and the drinks weren't bad, just not what they're advertised as. They were definitely not shakes or snickers like at all, more like overly expensive smoothies.
