On our recent trip to Dublin, my partner and I were super excited to find that HappyFood was located almost across the street from our hotel. Their food was fresh and delicious, and very reasonably priced. Tucked away down an alley (not completely unusual for Dublin), and sort of inside a yoga studio, HappyFood provides lunch during the day before the studio starts their classes. You order at the front counter and then they bring the food right to your table. The selection ranges from things like falafel wraps and burgers, to several fresh rice bowls. They mark everything on the menu very clearly with allergen symbols. What was a bit confusing to us, though, was actually how much non-veg options they normally have. We saw some notes about shellfish, but the days we were there, nothing on the menu appeared to be less the vegetarian. Nonetheless, the first time we went, I got the falafel wrap as a meal, meaning it came with a side of chips and a drink. The falafel itself was quite good, as well as all the trimmings inside. The second day, I opted for a bowl that had a delicious corn slaw and sweet potatoes (very delicious and hearty). Would recommend to anyone looking for a healthy-ish lunch, even if they're not exclusively vegetarian or vegan. read more

I'm lactose intolerant and my friend vegan, so when we heard about vegan shakes in Dublin we were so excited. We walked about 30 minutes out of our way to go here and we ordered two 'snickers' shakes which were 5.50 each and sat down outside. The area outside is very nice, with cute tables and chairs and some nice nature elements. Unfortunately, the 'shakes' were very lackluster and didn't taste like a 'snickers' anything at all, more like a banana and cacoa smoothie. I'm giving three stars as the staff were very nice, the place was clean and tidy,it seemed very busy and the drinks weren't bad,just not what they're advertised as. Wow. Really really loved this place. It's definitely a funny feeling sleuthing down a dodgy back alley looking for 'HappyFood'. Really like if you were to ask directions back there, on a rainy day, you'd probably look like you were tripping! It's such a great name though because the Yoga Hub is like a little happy place oasis back there. They've got a lovely little seating area out front, and the inside is all bright white and colours. With the food being located inside a yoga studio, it maybe isn't somewhere you'd totally hang around, although they have a lot of seating inside too if you wanted to, but I just got takeaway. It only took five mins to put together, and was wrapped up all nice for me in no time. 7 euro got me a vegan burger inside a wholemeal wrap with guacamole and a beetroot and red cabbage side salad. I had the happy vibe breakfast, it is the best vegan plant based breakfast I have ever eaten. Everything on the plate was amazing and I would highly recommended that everyone should eat this. The atmosphere is great it is down a small alley way and the outside is decorated very nice. read more

I've been wanting to check this place out for a while, so I'm glad I got the chance on a sunny day! The cafe was down and around a not so welcoming alley, so I would say this is the type of cafe you would have to actively seek out as opposed to being one that you stumble upon. However on entering, it was bright, clean and fresh looking albeit a bit small with both indoor and outdoor seats. I had the vegan burger as I've never tried a non-meat burger, but I think it was more like a tortilla wrap with the burger inside. I wasn't able to pick it up and eat to I used a fork and knife, and the taste was alright, a bit bland. I was expecting a bit more flavor, but if it's super healthy you're after then why not. I was offered a side salad so I chose the beetroot one which was nice! It made me wish I'd ordered a mixed salad plate instead of the burger. They had a few other vegan things on the menu like falafel, hummus, vegan desserts, chia seed cocoa balls, green juices and even matcha latte! There's a breakfast menu from 8a to 11am, and also for sale are yoga mats and flasks! The staff were friendly and the service was pretty quick, my food came in about 5 minutes. I really like this restaurant and the food is delicious. Its very hard to find good vegan restaurants in Dublin and of reasonable value. The only downside that I have to mention about this place, is its closing time. Closing at 3.30 pm is much too early, If you're planning to go here for a quick bite to eat after work? Hands down worth the walk through the slightly awkward weird alley it's located in. The food is downright amazing and has been steadily turning me more and more vegan. The cauliflower buffalo wings, the tofu nuggets, the vegan kebab. The cheap prices, the food, the wonderful people working here, the amazing desserts. Very nice place HappyFood. Pleasant place inside and pleasant staff working here. I had the falafel wrap for 6 EUR to go (you can also get it with salad for 8 EUR), which was very tasty. It was prepared very well after I ordered it. I also got a feta and asparagus tart to go, which I ate later at home. This was also very nice, albeit a bit pricey at 5.50 EUR, for the amount of tart you get. Quality over quantity. Service was rather slow on this visit. There was no queue as such, yet it took about ten mins from the time I arrived to the time I left with my lunch. When you compare that to other similar places nearby, where the queues will be much much longer, you can be out in the same time or less even. But if you have the time or you're not about to eat your own arm off, I think it's worth the wait. I look forward to going back and trying something else from their menu. My mom, brother and I visited here during our time in Dublin. It's located in an awkward spot - kind of tucked behind an alley. We actually spent so much time trying to find the place, that we arrived during their closing time. The next time though, we were professionals at finding the place. The atmosphere was really nice - located near a yoga place. To me, yoga and vegan food go wonderful together. I also like the string lights they hung up around the place and the clean, wooden floors. This a great place for a healthy option, but the food is a little hit and miss. I've had a great falafel from here to come back a week after and have it be mediocre. Same with their Portobello mushroom burger, and with their smoothies. The place is a bit hidden and you will have to venture down a sometimes-smelly alley to get there, but this doesn't interfere with the experience at the place at all. read more

Hidden Gem, Happy food is the perfect place to have an healthy lunch or dinner, good combination of vegetarian or vegan food. I tried there the noodles and the chia burger, very simple but so tasty. They have different smoothies & juices and also some gluten free treats. The big plus is the outside terrace at least if it doesn't rain ;). read more

Ordered food here via Deliveroo, not really knowing what to expect, and oh my god it was fantastic!! Both myself (veggie) and my friend (vegan) got so excited by the amazing sounding menu that we ended up ordering a massive feast! Between us we got a burger, chips, some salad boxes, tofu nuggets & cauliflower wings. We were just so excited to have so much choice! We had thought it was quite pricey but actually it's totally worth it as the portions are HUGE. Everything we got was so full of flavour and delicious. I particularly loved the chips! The cauliflower "wings" were basically pieces of cauliflower with a kind of bbq sauce on them. Not what I was expecting but still really nice! Loved the salads- they were very large for the price we paid and we ended up having loads left over which tasted great the next day. I would definitely recommend ordering from these guys if you fancy something tasty, healthy and filling. I will definitely be paying them a visit soon to eat in! read more

This place could not be more out of the way. Even knowing the directions and address I was still unsure where I was going until I found it. It's down a dingy alley with stale kegs being collected and questionable graffiti everywhere. As soon as you walk through the gated terrace though, you're in another world. The café is super minimal and clean with some well chosen bright decor in all the colours of the rainbow, fresh flowers on the tables and comfortable but functional wood furniture. T All the options sound amazing but I had to go for the protein burger. The service was pretty good though we had to clarify what we had ordered a couple of times-- it seemed like the end of a long shift for the girl who was serving us. We went for takeaway and brought it back to the office. I was once a veggie for a few years so I'm no stranger to good vegetarian food, but generally I do love my meat these days, so I was very pleasantly surprised by the amazing flavours, texture and quality of this food. The protein burger was just delicious, totally unreal and just filling enough to leave you wanting just one more bite when you've eaten it all. The perfect portion if you ask me. I didn't eat a lot of the Asian Slaw salad that came with it, I didn't want to ruin the lasting flavour of the delicious salsa/guac combo in the wrap. I'll definitely be back to get more of this style of food, and some of the incredible looking cakes and sweets which I held back from on this occasion. read more

A lot has changed about this place over the last year and a half. It's gone under new management who have hanged up the menu and offered dinner time hours and weekend hours. This little place is set inside of yoga studio so you can get some exercise in and then fuel up on fresh juices, vegan milkshakes, chia seed burgers, etc! Their falafel wrap is my go to lunch treat! For 8.50 you can also get a side salad. It's a great size and very flavourful! Every week they have a special - pad thai, chia seed burgers, vermicelli noodle bowl with veg, etc. The noodle bowl and the chia seed burgers were top notch and definitely made my week. One thing that has changed under the new management are the treats which are also vegan. They have gotten very small, sad looking, and just expensive. Their prices have gone up, yet the size has gone down. So I haven't had a treat since because it's just not worth it. Treats aside, the service is decent! I've been for lunch and dinner and enjoyed lunch more. Dinner was slow and they forgot about us a few times so I had to go up to the counter to get extra forks, napkins, sauce, etc. Not a big deal, but I did try flagging them down a couple of times and asked for the same thing over and over but no one delivered. Overall very decadent entrees. The happy yoga breakfast and the diablo burger were both very filling. What I felt that both dishes lacked was balance - there were hints of a kick, but the overall food was very bland. Also, the burger patty was dry, as were the "bangers". It was my first time here, having known about it from a while. I had the sloppy joe burger which was €10, and it looks hearty and impressive while its just a burger on its own with nothing on the side. I found it to be very bland and stodgy and I couldn't finish it. The bread was very heavy and flavourless, I couldn't tell if the burger bun or 'burger' has the sweet potato in it because it tasted of neither. The tofu bacon could have been marinated for flavour, but it wasn't. The other condiments were` a vegan mayo and caramelised onions, and they didn't help the bland burger along. It was a lot of bland things in a burger that needed a bit of spice to liven it up. Not impressed for the price. Doesn't give one a good impression of vegan food, could do a LOT better. I wouldn't go back for the food but the location is very calm and chill, and I can't comment on the yoga studios upstairs. read more

The only reason I am giving 2 stars is became of their milkshakes other than that the restuarant was incredibly hard to find and local businesses didn't even know where it was located! When me and my 2 vegan friends showed up after walking in the rain for over an hour we were instantly greeted by unwelcoming and ignorant staff as we tried to close our umbrellas. When we finally got our stuff together we ordered their sloppy joe burger and a milkshake, the milkshake would be the only reason I would return here. Went there because of the great reviews online about their burgers but unfortunately they were out of the burgers for the day so i decided to try "day special" - falafel wrap. That was the weirdest and poorest wrap I've ever seen. It was a cold wrap completely stuffed with cabbage with few pieces of falafel. Honestly it looked like they were just out of everything and just scraped whatever they could find in the kitchen. For 10€ i expected more than just cabbage. Staff and atmosphere also not the best. We stopped here after landing in Dublin after a loooooong flight from the states, we couldn't check into our AirBNB yet and we were starving. I found this place on HappyCow and we decided to walk in the rain through the semi-awkward alley, it did not disappoint. I tried the full breakfast, my husband had the sloppy joe in wrap form. Mine was delicious and waaaaaay filling, so filling that I ended up wasting 30% of my plate and leaving feeling a bit sad about it. My husband's was really good, just a bit messy - the wrap isn't really wrapped more than just folded into a tortilla so it still required a fork and knife. The place is a bit small and felt a little cramped but again, it was raining so everyone was inside. Overall, our experience was great, I do wish that we could go back and try something else, maybe from the lunch menu next time to get a better taste of what this cute little place has to offer, and who knows, maybe we will! read more
