My first time visiting Dublin and Glas. Here's my honest review. Food: The flavor and food was very mediocre and unbalanced. The quantity was on the lower side. The presentation of the dishes was amazing. We ordered king oyster for mains and risotto for breakfast. Service: Amazing service, very attentive servers and hosts. Ambiance: Very beautiful restaurant, beautiful decor.

wow!!! Incredible experience. Service was outstanding and the food was better than Michelin starred vegan restaurants we've been to. Can't wait to go back :) super cute interior as well!!

TLDR: "It was good, for vegetarian food. I left still hungry." 7/10 A great entry into vegan and vegetarian fine dining. Fantastic location, service and food. Omnivores & Carnivores beware. This isn't the kind of place I'd take my dad. I really wanted to like this place. No single dish really blew me away. I did not want to discount them too much because I do not think I am their target audience, a meat lover. THE DETAILS: It was a cold and dark and stormy night in December. We were hungry, tired and parched. Glas was our restaurant of choice. ATTIRE: Leave your crop tops and chanklas at home friends, this is business casual. PRICING: Simple and elegant fixed price menu- 2 course menu: 40 euros 3 course menu: 49 Euros With drinks, water, and tip we spent around 150€ for two. DINNER TIMELINE: 9:15PM: Reservation 8:56PM: Arrived 9:04PM: Seated 9:20PM: Ordered drinks and food 9:27PM: Drinks served 9:37PM: Appetizer 9:56PM: Mail course served 10:02PM: Main 1 finished 10:05PM: Main 2 finished 10:06PM: Cleared plates 10:07PM: Served new dessert spoons 10:31PM: Served dessert 10:45PM: asked for check 10:52PM: Paid THE FOOD: Drink 1: Coconut Margarita (not on menu) ** 10/10- amazing texture and flavor! Drink 2: Irish Spritz ** 3/10- Made well, but it really tasted like Robotussin. Very watery Robotussin. Appetizer 1/2: Smoked Cheese Croquettes ** 9/10: Warm smoky taste, braised chicory paired nicely. Stay away if you don't like mustard. Main 1: Miso Parsnip ** 8/10: what a perfect combination of flavors and textures. I am not vegan or vegetarian, and the words "carrot risotto" slightly terrify me. But it was executed well. Main 2: King Oyster Mushroom ** 7/10: Umami packed, hearty choice. A great choice, but the mushroom was slightly rubbery. I surprisingly did not enjoy this as much as the carrot risotto (never thought I'd ever write that sentence in my life). Dessert 1: Turnip Cake "I'll have the turnip cake for dessert! yum!!!" (Sounds great right?) 6/10: it was an interesting concept, I could definitely tell it was a fancy turnip. Dessert 2: Honey Panna Cotta 7/10 it is more of an art piece than deliciousness. The tart fruit overpowered the cream below. When eating the dish, I suggest eating it right side up, with the cream hitting your tongue first, to reduce the fruit from overpowering the dish. Plating was fantastic. Other great detail about Glas: - the changed silverware at every course - dimly and artfully lit - chic jungle modern aesthetic - staff is diverse and friendly - they take your coats and shopping bags for you to store. The staff members even help you with your coat as you depart. Noise levels: - it's a busy restaurant, but noise levels were fine for conversation. The background music is just that- background music.

The interior is so cute with dim lighting and plants everywhere. Would be a wonderful date spot. The menu is easy to navigate. The burrata appetizer was amazing, best thing I ate all night. The squash main was good but nothing special and the desserts were not my cup of tea. This spot is still worth a visit, check it out.

I've been to many vegan restaurants and this place is truly exceptional. Reminds me of restaurants similar to Matthew Kenney. Truly artful dishes made with plants, not fake meats. I really appreciated this meal. I had the fennel fritters with tomato jam and dill cashew cheese for starter, Swiss chard with risotto balls and pickled grapes (recommended by the waiter and great suggestion, and I normally wouldn't have chosen but it was a great one- the chard was interesting, grilled and tasted amazing), and chocolate mouse for dessert. Wow. It was a beautiful meal. If you go, keep in mind what you're getting into - this is a fine dining restaurant with multiple courses of small to moderately sized plates that are levels above any other vegan/vegetarian food around the city. If you're looking for that, I highly highly recommend it and it's deserving of the Michelin rating.

Great food and chic ambiance. The service was incredible and the flavors were delicious. The cocktails are yummy!

Magnificent experience from the moment we arrived. I've had vegan food all over the world and no one is making vegan food like this- fresh local ingredients, dishes presented like art, layers of flavor that are as interesting as they are delicious. Not your run of the mill vegan offerings, these chefs know what they're doing and do it exceptionally. Wonderful service and ambiance as well. Highly recommend! Will be back anytime I'm in town.

The one on Abbey Street in Dublin is a no frilld but clean and pleasant restaurant. You have options on the size of your meal, ranging from a bit under ten euros to 13 or so. Meals are rice, dal, veggie curries and vegetables. It is not gourmet but it is nutritious and relatively cheap for dublin. Menu does vary s bit. Given that Irish food is very meat heavy, this is a good option and cheaper than most South Asian restaurants I saw. Central location makes it s great lunch option.

If you are vegetarian or vegan, this is fantastic food at a great price. The folks behind the counter give very generous servings, so honestly the small plate is more than adequate. It's a no-frills place, cafeteria style, rather than a place for table service. There is no set menu, they cook what is fresh, seasonal and available, and in the evening after 7pm, they stop cooking any more food and what's left is what's available. From the dinner items I had, the rice & yellow dal was fantastic, as was the turmeric potato bake. I didn't like the chickpea + spinach dish wax much, but that cause of a personal taste preference for creamed spinach rather than boiled, as was the case with this dish. They have takeaway containers (foil) which I availed myself of, as couldn't finish everything on my plate. Overall great food at a great price, so recommend! Yelp 119 / 2019

Usually, the dining room comprises an underground hideaway that is quite sleek and intimate. However, due to the lockdown measures, we had to do outdoor seating directly on William Street while we were there. The experience was still beautiful, thanks to the surrounding scenery. The cocktails were grand between the P61 Signature Cocktail and the Hugo -- both prosecco-based cocktails. The former was delicious between the peach puree and prosecco, while the latter was a little more tart with the elderflower cordial. For dinner, we kicked things off with gluten-free bread with a trio of dips that were quite tasty. The Tortellini I ordered was exquisite and scrumptious with how it was prepared between the goat cheese, asparagus, red onion, wilted spinach, cream sauce, and bacon. I applauded this lovely dish with the last bite. I devoured the warm almond flour brownie for dessert, served with chocolate sauce and gelato, which my wife could also enjoy since the dish was gluten-free. Overall, Platform 61 was a great way to conclude our second Irish journey. We will return, especially to enjoy the underground dining area.

Fortunately, it turned out there was ample to choose from, including Sova Vegan Butcher (a quick walk from our hotel, near the Iveagh Gardens). Sova Vegan Butcher is a slightly higher dining experience than most of what you'll find in Dublin. This doesn't mean that you need to get too dressy, but rather that the presentation is a higher game (and dishes are a little higher in cost). We made reservations when we first arrived on recommendation from a couple sources we looked into. Our last day in Dublin, we headed to the restaurant and were seated on the second floor. Their space is about average size for Dublin, and they were busy but with pretty regular turn over in tables. Seeing a caesar salad was available, I of course had to try that as one of our shared dishes. We also got the soya schnitzels, and the split pea soup for a starter. The soup was good, but about your standard flavor profile. However, the caesar salad was excellent. It had a really large portion of avocado, tempeh rounds, and a good rendition on the dressing. The soya schnitzels were quite good as well. They were served with a duchess potato and delicious tartare sauce. While we were quite full from all of this, we decided to treat ourselves to dessert (it being our last night out in Dublin). That night, the dessert was a cheesecake with strawberries and blueberries, served in a cute mason jar. It wasn't the best cheesecake I've had, but I appreciated the presentation that went into it. Would definitely recommend Sova for someone traveling through Dublin, especially if you're getting tired of some of the standard (burger-type) vegan fare you'll often find elsewhere.
