Hummus/roasted pepper pitta
Logan D.

Pros: -Decor in the house-turned-business is bright and uplifting. I particularly appreciated the various artists' renditions of the storefront. -Free samples of 3 different products distributed to those waiting in line, and additional samples in the shop area! -Vegan/vegetarian options! Cons: -Long line! -No nutrition facts -- Hummus/Roasted Red Pepper Pitta (~4 euro) Ordered sans cheese. It was a perfect snack--fresh, flavorful, and filling! Come to the US, HP!!

Vegan food never tasted so good. Was blown away by this place. I am not restricted to vegetarian/vegan food options but came here after hearing great things & was not lead astray! I got a main dish and two sides and it was plenty of food. Smoothie was smaller than expected (that might be because I was visiting from the US where portion sizes don't exist.) It was such a satisfying meal after doing the Cliff walk from Bray to Greystones (which you should do if you're in the area!) They have a nice assortment of coffee/juices & desserts as well! Bathrooms onsite. Tip: Sit up stairs! Lots of seating and it's very laid back.

This wonderful coffee shop/restaurant/store is the perfect place to catch a break. As an added bonus the Happy Pear is Conveniently located near the cliff walk trail connecting Bray and Greystone. It's also right by the light rail. I stopped here for a bite after competing the beautiful easy hike and catching the rail back to Dublin. The Happy Pear is a gold mine for vegan, vegetarian, and health conscious consumers. Sit out front on the sidewalk to watch folks walk by or head to the back gardens for a quieter spot. Be sure to pick up a sweet treat before you go as everything is made in house and delicious!

I recently did the walk from Bray to Greystones, with the idea of checking out the town of Greystones and getting a bite to eat after the walk. If you are traveling to Ireland or even if you live there...this place is a must. They have the most AMAZING vegetarian menu. I could not make up my mind on what to order...so I went with the Buddha Bowl. I'm so glad it was exactly what I needed after the walk. It's a great place to get fresh fruits and veggies. They also have delicious pastries-I tried the banana bread. I cannot stress enough how much I enjoyed this part of my trip!

I lived for many years in Dublin and for some reason never got the chance to visit The Happy Pear as it's quite far, despite reading their cookbooks and following them on Instagram. I finally got to go with my mum on my birthday and it was worth the journey! We had the Buddha bowel, which had brown rice, dahl, kimchi, cabbage, beetroot, avocado and roast baby potatoes; it was a really big portion but very healthy and filling despite being totally vegan. The dahl was amazing and went perfectly with the brown rice. The prices are very reasonable too, all under €10. They also have other interesting options such as a falafel burger, vegan lasagne, Mexican bowl and a breakfast menu. The coffee here is pretty good too. I'm a coffee lover and have ventured around many of Dublins independent coffee shops, and I can say that I quite liked the coffee here. The cafe itself is pretty big with both plenty of outdoor seating as well as a very spacious indoor seating area upstairs. They have their own shop just beside the cafe selling happy pear branded foods, organic fruit and vegetables, their cookbooks and also some other health food and vegan items such as chia seeds, various types of grains, vegan cheeses etc. The prices are on the higher end due it being all organic, but the quality is good. The atmosphere is casual, and the cafe is bright and lively. Overall, 5/5 for food, coffee, atmosphere and service.

The Happy Pear is a great concept and I admire the two lads' passion and drive but it's in danger of becoming a victim of its own success. In both shops the attitude of the staff is really deteriorating. There's an air of superiority that should never be present in the service industry regardless of notoriety or popularity. Time to remind the team together to remind them to leave the attitude at the door!

The amazing Buddha bowl sampler plate.

What is there not to love here? A beautiful Irish seaside town, an adorable vegan grocery and cafe, friendly people and delicious food. My daughter had the Buddha bowl, a veritable smorgasbord of vegan fare. A sampler plate of sorts and more than any one person could eat. I had the Vietnamese pumpkin curry. It was fantastic and more than I could eat. We packed them up to go and will be noshing on them in Dublin tonight without a doubt!

Such a cute healthy food cafe. The food is all plant-based and absolutely delicious. Prices are on the higher side for a cafe, but the portions are large. I stopped here after doing the Bray-Greystones walk and it was exactly what I needed. Good amount of seating upstairs.

No bottled water here :)

I love this place! Maybe it's because they offer free cake samples when there's a big queue. Or because a lady working here actually hugged me with an extra blanket so I wouldn't be cold while eating outside, but if anything, it just goes to show that some places really live up to the "above and beyond" ethos. Oh, and did I mention the awesome grocery shop they have just beside the café/restaurant? Go there, buy some yumminess, it's worth it. You may recognize some of their products, particularly the sprouts, as they're sold in certain chain stores like Fresh, all across the city. But here you'll find some really delectable vegetables from their farm, and you should take the chance to buy some. We visited for lunch on a bank holiday and got there just as it was starting to get crazy busy. But that didn't deter us and we pressed on. The menus looked good and were good value - they offer various combos, with soups, wraps, salads or hot dishes. We were hungry after a brisk walk from Bray, and we were craving something both healthy and filling. Their food more than ticked the box, plus it was quite tasty. We liked it so much we stayed for some good coffee and a (almost) guilt-free cake. Part of me wishes they'd have a central Dublin location, but I know I'd just be disappointed because it's so good it'd be always overrun. But hey, enjoy the beauty of local products and businesses, right? P.S.: The map marker on the yelp app is wrong and places this business some doors down further away from the train station, so just beware of that.

Don't let the long queue out the door put you off, it moves fairly quickly and there's plenty of seating inside (or outside, for the brave) I love the concept of this cafe, healthy, hearty vegan food at affordable prices. Even the biggest carnivores won't have any complaints During lunch you can pick between two types of soup and two main courses. And plenty of different salads for on the side. On this occasion I had a soup and two side salads. The soup was a bit bland and lukewarm which disappointed me, but oh those salads truly made up for it. I might just have a huge plate of salad next time I go. Because I felt like a true glutton I had to have dessert as well, and had a slice of carrotcake. All natural ingredients and gluten free, so no need to feel all that guilty. One of the owners was handing out tasty bites of a chocolate granola bar...whoa, so good!

Well. If ever there was an oasis of a food establishment, this would be that establishment for sure. The happy pear really couldn't be a happier, more positive place to gorge on some goodness. The food is top quality, nearly totally organic, and so wholesome that it almost feels wrong. Serving the widely-rejoiced Roasted Brown coffee, they succeed in keeping all caffeine connoisseurs happy. Offering a whopping FIVE different types of milk to accompany your cup of Jo, though, well all dairy-phobes can only be left thinking "Is there such thing as too much choice?!" I think non. All-in-all this is a great place, my one criticism would be that a plate-of-joy here does not come cheap -€8.50 for a salad lunch feels a bit like a "chinese burn" to my humble student budget..

The happy pear serves Yummy scrummy homemade food like hummus and roasted red peppers salads and fresh soups and the coffee is just purrfect. As you go into the shop it seems so small but there is tons of seating upstairs and more seating outside. The menu caters for all, there is plenty for vegetarians and i think i noticed gluten free options the last time i was here but can't be sure. There are so many lovely ingredients I don't even miss meat in my meal. They really try to be original with their soups which is a big plus for me as most places just settle for the boring vegetable soup. The portion sizes are quite adequate and they have some specials on the board such as soup and salad for around €7.

The Happy Pear is a natural food cafe, juice bar and fruit'n'veg shop located on Greystones' Main Street. It offers mainly organic and local vegetarian produce and it's on a mission to create 'happier, healthier and more sustainable communities'. However, if you're not all that concerned about the ethics of the business, the only thing you need to know is that The Happy Pear serves delicious food. The salads - butter bean and chickpea, couscous and potato etc - are filling and akin to those in Avoca/Cornucopia. There are usually only two main courses on offer and these alternate on a daily basis. The soups are exotic and creative - think Roasted Red Pepper & Butternut Squash or Thai Cashew Nut & Coconut. If you are interested in where your food comes from, The Happy Pear staff will be glad to talk to you about their suppliers and their ethos. They also offer classes, screenings and special events promoting sustainability and a healthy lifestyle. Don't worry though, you won't be preached at if you're just interested in having a coffee! Oh yeah, it's run by twins hence the name!

The food was fantastic, but the portions a little small for the big price. Great atmosphere.

I went to meet my elderly parents, my uncle and his partner who were already sitting at the table. My mother had kindly already paid my drink (as a credit) which was a hot tea. When I arrived at the branch, the two male members of staff were not aware of any credit as the female staff member who previously served my mother was on her break. She hadn't communicated that there was a credit due for my drink. Therefore, there was some confusion and the staff attempted to look up on the cash register for a record of the credit. It wasn't until my mother had to leave the table with great stress did they insist that the drink was already paid and the staff actually acted with any care. They admitted there was a free drink due as they confirmed with the female staff member. No apology was issued. Indeed he preached to me about "store policy". He also was a store manager or assistant manager which made thing incredibly more worse. To top it all off I asked if I could exchange the tea (which had not yet been prepared) for a small americano coffee and he charged me an additional 20 cents.
