This is more a watering hole than a pizza and pasta place: that's what one immediately concludes looking at the food menu vs the drink menu. Nothing wrong with that. First time here with friends and couldn't wait for the pizzas and meatballs to arrive. Expectations were high and I was a little let down by the quality of the pizza. The crust is super thin and so very likely to get burned. Which is what happened to two of the three pizzas. Big round blotches of burnt crust. Other than that the pizza was quite good. The meatballs were delicious. Small place but great vibe. Service was fast and friendly. I would give it another shot. read more

My bus drops me off across the street every day, and I find it difficult to stay away. I love this space, it just feels really comfortable. I love that they play records in there, and when they're not super busy, it's nice to hang out and talk to everyone working there. Some names are escaping me, but Daisy is a really rad lady. :) I really enjoy the large list of rotating taps. I love my beers, my good beers, and the Masonry has plenty to choose from daily. I also like their glasses which I think you can purchase from them? Neat! The wood fired oven keeps it nice and cozy in there, and also cooks a mean pizza! I love the super thin crispy crust. They change up the toppings on their pizzas, and they have just a few to choose from. Next, my absolute favorite item that I have to order isn't pizza, it's their meatballs. You get five or so big tasty (and slightly spicy in the best way) meatballs in a rich tomato sauce. I love these meatballs so much! There's also some wonderful salads, soups, and a few tasty baked dishes. I enjoy the simplicity of the menu, and can't wait to try more items from it if I can skip the meatballs one day! :) read more

LOVE this place! This place should not be missed if you're in lower Queen Anne. - The BEST service I've received from restaurant staff or bar in YEARS and I dine out a lot. - Fantastic vibe...very cool without any of that Seattle freeze nonsense - Great music - More importantly, they make excellent wood-fired pizza and tender meatballs with a sauce I wanted to drink by the laddle. Tips: - Give yourself plenty of time to get a seat...I don't think they accept reservations...but they do have a variety of seating options, bar, booths, communal tables. - Dip that leftover pizza crust in the meatball sauce...I'm salivating just writing about it - Definitely come here before or after a game/show at the Key read more

What kind of restaurant has to basically close down to prepare for supper? Came here for a pizza as the reviews state are great, only to be told that they only serve crappy snacks (pic below) in order to prepare for supper. We had the meat pie and it really sucked. Very disappointed in this place. Hopefully supper is better, but i guess we will never find out as there are so many other places in Seattle to check out before darkening this door again. read more

The Masonry - Pizza Near Me - Seattle, Washington

I love putting balls in my mouth at the Masonry. Meatballs, that is. They are a little spicy and delicious and I could eat 50 of them. The pizza is solid if not earthshattering (definitely add the pancetta to the mushroom pizza, totally worth it). I've almost always enjoyed the seasonal salad specials. And as many have mentioned, the beer selection is excellent. This strip of LQA just NEEDED a restaurant like the Masonry after years of suffering through Quiznos/crapola restaurants nearby. Definitely recommend it if you're in the area and in the mood for great beer and good wood-fired pizza. read more

Great new addition to lower Queen Anne. Unique brew selection and fantastic service. I tried the meatballs and the Sausage pizza. Pizza was extraordinary and prepared perfectly. The meatballs were pretty darn good, although I didn't get the 'spicy' as noted on the menu, but still worth trying. Very happy this place opened up. Will be visiting again soon. read more

Pizza are not excellent, bottom Fully burned and still not fully cooked A bartender took the order "to go" and messed up the order, and gave me an $18 pizza instead of a plain margarita for $11 hours They were a little rude and pushing on selling me an other drink even though I ordered "to go" and had already paid. He told me the pizza were gonna take a little while, but after I said no, not even a minute passed before I get my (burned) pizza. One of them was eating at a table and was talking loudly with other coworkers, some were burping without much shame. Not I place I'll go back, and not a place worth spending time and money. Worst $45 for 2 pizza and a beer I have spend. Upside, place seemed cool... read more

Not bad but also not somewhere I'd be rushing back to if I lived in the area. Total before tax for one pizza, meatballs, and a single glass of cider was $34.50; insanely high for the atmosphere and the overall execution of the food. If you're nearby and need a quick bit late, it's not a bad option, it just wouldn't be my first choice in the area. Service: The two bartenders working when I was there were great. They were efficient and friendly. Food: I had a Hipster pizza and meatballs with a glass of cider. The crust on the pizza was very good; the wood burning oven really makes the difference here. It had a good amount of toppings on it but the kale was extremely chewy. The kale either needs to be cut smaller or put on in a way in which it will crisp, rather than wilt. For the price, it was really disappointing and I would not recommend it. The meatballs were good. Meat was flavored well and the sauce was nice, although they were swimming in sauce (I dipped my pizza in it). Maybe a bit pricey but given the quality I'd recommend them. Drink options are good and they feature some great local options. Atmosphere: Very laid-back. They have a very good mix of bar and table seating options given the relatively small size of the restaurant. I wasn't overly fond the decor but I think it fits for the more hipster environment of Seattle. Warning for those of you (like me) who like to wash their hands before eating, the bathrooms are located in a separate part of the building. In order to access the bathrooms, you need to grab a key, walk down a hall, and then you'll see them. They were clean but I found the amount of things I had to touch basically defeated the point of washing my hands. read more

In Seattle for the long weekend, and this place was the perfect first dinner stop! Music playing pleasantly in the background (courtesy of their killer vinyl sound system), interesting beers, and pizza so good we ended up ordering a second! Great atmosphere, great food, great drinks, great location. A win all around! read more

One of my favorite neighborhood spots! They have a wonderful beer selection that caters to all types of beer drinkers. On tap there are plenty of IPA's, a good selection of wheat beers, some stouts, and always a few sours and saisons; really, something for everyone. If they don't have what you're looking for on tap they have a huge list of bottled beer as well. I love me a Neapolitan pizza and they have a really good one. The margherita and pepperoni are staples and they have several rotating seasonals. They also have a few good salads and snacks. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the ambiance is fun and laid back. read more

this saddens us to write this... because of all the good vibes and reviews we read too.....maybe it was an off nite? but ..i don't think so. we ordered and picked it up and ate it right away at the brewery...so...the first piece we picked up..was the soggiest mess! ...everything slid off. we asked and paid for more sausage..? um.....i should have known when we saw the pizza guy spreading the dough...it is WAY too thin. the sauce..was from a can...nothing cooked or added ..tasted like paste at best. the crust itself was good and blackened..but.......so I'm sure they could do better...but comparing this to pizza in Italy or East coast..isn't even stretching it...its ): and Yes I am Italiana, and I also make my own...wanted a night out.. read more

The food menu is small, consisting of pizza and small plates. Everything is cooked in their wood fire oven, resulting in a pleasant smokiness to the small plates, and a perfect, crackling char on the pizza crusts. The rotating pizzas can be an adventure, almost always a satisfying one. The permanent pizzas (e.g. Margherita, mushroom) are crowd pleasers - a recommended choice for first timers. The small plates are hit or miss, but the gnocchi carbonara with fried pancetta is excellent - a must try for those craving savory indulgence. Perhaps the biggest attraction is the selection behind the bar. They have the best bottled beer list in lower Queen Anne, not to mention a dozen rotating taps of local beer, wine, and cider. It's definitely a beer heavy offering, but who's craving a Chablis when face deep in a hand tossed, wood fired, prosciutto and roasted red pepper pizza? Keep that pretension at Purple where it belongs. While this review might encourage attendance, I'd prefer you take your time getting there. I enjoy being able to take my spot at the bar without too much time spent waiting read more

Came in on a Saturday night. There is no signup sheet here so no need to look for it. There were a few people ahead of us but we were all sat down within 10 minutes. We got one of the Hawaiian pizza which is one of their seasonals. The Hawaiian came with pork shoulder and pineapples. The pizza wasn't bad but it wasn't great hence the 3 stars. I think they could've been a little more generous with the pork shoulder. There was probably some pork shoulder every other bite. They did load enough pineapples on though. I think their sauce lacked a little flavour as well. Overall the pizza was pretty forgettable. Their service on the other hand was really good. They have a few TVs in the restaurant that were playing various March Madness games. read more

Good. So good. So, so good. The mussels are great. The caesar salad is one of the best in the city. But the two best things? Pizza. And. Beer. The pizza is damn good. The specials are solid but the classics, like the sausage pizza, are super dope. And the beer list? There a few like it in the city. The Masonry has an amazing list of import and American craft beer. The last time I went, it was a takeover night featuring Old Schoolhouse and Skookum breweries. They had a ton of IPAs on, but that's unusual. Normally its a lot of farmhouse beer, which I love. It can get crowded but its worth it. Go. Eat. Drink. Repeat. read more

These guys know their pizza, beers, and rock n roll... so if you like any of those things, you want to be getting yourself to this place bc you will be very, very happy. As a East Coast pizza snob, I am very impressed with their go at pizza. It gets the sauce right! It's really unique with a tiny kick. They probably should be more patient with the dough bc it doesn't cook properly... it does get a bit soggy in the middle. But quality ingredients, the wood fire taste, and that sauce? They are close to perfection. And that is a rare thing. Did I mention great beer selection and spinning LPs? Spot on boys! read more

I dig this place. The beer selection is great! Staff is friendly, food is slightly overpriced considering the size of pizza's, but I'm used to that. They're super small, but pretty good (that coming from a NY-er, it might be blasphemy). It's fun to watch them cook your pizza while you wait. read more

I am going to resist the urge to call this place "Hole in the wall". As many people may. For anyplace that offers such an incredible array of beers stands head and shoulders above a mere "Hole in the wall". Although I will admit, that in the final minutes of downtown Seattle rush hour, I did drive by it twice. It is a terribly simple and small place. Barely a dozen tables, one of which is a long, wooden table that basically splits the place in half. It also, due to the lack of space, forces you to enjoy your dinner in a communal setting. If you are unfortunate enough to get there after all the other tables are gone. I will give the devote a few thumbs up. They were spinning vinyl which is ridiculous but kinda retro cool. And, there is this huge window that slides open and faces the street. To sit there and watch the city go by is very welcome. Now to the pie (Pizza) that I'm sorry to say was not the star of the show. I had the roast lamb shoulder pie with roasted tomatoes, shallots, mint basil pesto and mizithra. I found the dough wasn't oiled or seasoned. I thought the cheese seemed kind of "Kraft-ish" and was just underwhelmed with it. However, leave it to the beer Gods to save the night. As I said, the selection of craft beers here are incredible but, I am a stout man and it's that time if year. I had the North Coast Barrel Rasputin. With an alcohol count of 11.5% and costing about $21 per challis, it was definitely the highlight of the night. Again, I am not knocking this place and I am sure with time, they will get that pie (Pizza) thing down to a science. The people were cool, the atmosphere was very laid back and I love that big ass window. read more

Came for a can release at this location, came back for food because it smelled amazing! We got meatballs, Cesar salad, and focaccia! It was amazing!!!! The Owner is a stand up guy, super nice, helpful, and passionate about the food that comes out of his kitchen and the beer that flows from his taps. If your in Lower Queen Anne go here! We came on vacation to Seattle and came to The Masonry on a recommendation and we will always go back! Thank you for the great hospitality! (Please see my review for the Fremont location as well!) read more

Generally, I enjoy eating here. I think its a great neighborhood spot, lovely selection of beers (and my dad particularly enjoys the ginger beer), and I love that they keep the menu fairly simple and focused (though I do wish they had about 2 more choices on the pizza). I always seem to get the same waitress when I go, and she is great, super sweet, definitely a plus to going there. I'm hoping they figure out how to cook the pizzas without burning them - I don't mind the slightly burnt crust, but can always be a bit of a gamble when I bring a friend along if they will like it. Overall, I'm looking forward to seeing how this place grows into itself, as it continues to figure things out beyond the first year. read more

Can I just say that I can't stop thinking about the Watermelon Salad I had on Monday night. It had just the right amount of salt, just the right amount of sweet. It was delicious, hearty, and refreshing. Sure, the pizza was also amazing, but the chef was the star of the show. She held so much confidence it was very inspiring. So why the 4 star review? The service was a little slow and slightly un-attentive. Don't get me wrong, it was not terrible. I am not unhappy. There were just little things I noticed...my husband's beer glass sat empty while our server walked by the table several times...we weren't given the check really all that promptly...our plates weren't cleared efficiently. It was busy, but there was just a slight sense of inefficiency. I am very confident though, that this little kink will get worked out as the restaurant matures. For now, great start, and definitely worth checking out. read more

Handmade with love. Wood fired pizza. When I'm looking for the comfort of soft bread and complex flavors I stop in here. Order a hard cider, whatever pizza they are featuring and if anything else catches my eye, that also.... Gnocchi isn't always a great choice. The people here are true to their industry, they are kind, informative and always present. It was a great night at Masonry; clam, pleasant and delicious. Thanks. read more

The Masonry - Sausage pizza. Perfect. Delectable. Savory. - Pizza Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Updated review for beer dinner: The hubby and I went to a beer dinner hosted here. So good! Again, their buyer is really smart and the pairings were delicious. Given the simplicity of the offerings on the regular menu, you might not expect it, but the food was really good - interesting and tasty. Clearly they spent a lot of time thinking through the menu. Also, they gave FULL pours for all the beers for each course - it was a bit dangerous but delicious. I highly recommend going to one of these dinners. read more

One of the best places in this neighborhood. My friend and I Shared a pizza and salad, they also had a really awesome beer selection on tap. I was surprised when a co-worker took me here for lunch. this place is amazing. Pizza - if you haven't been here, get the margherita first. or bring a friend and get the margherita and a seasonal. Beer- they know what they're talking about. They turned me on to my new favorite IPA. E9 sword and sorcery also gets 5 stars. read more

Not known for their service, but rather for their pizza. Despite this, I insist you get the spicy meatballs. So much sauce will require one (if not two) orders of focaccia. Their caesar is nice, too. You'll thank me later. Note: this location's happy hour window is shorter than their Fremont location. The upside? It's 21+, so no crying kids and an all around warmer atmosphere. read more

Context: I've been to Italy so I'm a pizza snob. This thin crust pizza was delicious. I got the sausage and a friend got the mushroom and we shared. I really liked the sausage better since it had tomato sauce. Beer selection was unique (great). We had a sour beer that went great. Beware that the beer prices were a bit high since they were speciality. Service was great. We went at lunch and the pizzas came right out. Place is cool but on the smaller side. I imagine this place will fill up once the word is out. Definitely recommend this off the beaten path pizza joint. read more

Totally LOVED this place! I don't know if I was extra-hungry last night, or what, but... Man! I sure enjoyed the meal! Hubby liked it a lot, too. The Hubs ordered the Caesar Salad, and it was the best Caesar I've ever had -- anywhere! I couldn't stop stealing bites from him. We also got an order of meatballs. Delicious. Really tender, but not falling-apart. They have a spicy kick that doesn't hit your palate immediately. The sauce didn't seem that spicy though, just the meatballs. And after our pizza arrived, we dipped the pizza "bones" into the sauce, which was a bonus. We ordered one of the seasonal pizzas: Roasted Lamb Shoulder pizza. It was unusual. I wasn't sure about it on the first bite, but after taking a few bites, I was into it. Hubby liked it too, although I would say that he didn't love it. Not sure he would order it again, although I would, but not until I've had a chance to try their other pizzas. I really liked the crust. It was stretched thin, but the bottom crust wasn't crackling-crisp. In fact, it wasn't crisp at all, which is fine with me, but some people might not like such a limp bottom crust. The edge, though, was really good: not too thick, but thick enough to get that pillowy softness that is so delightful; and a little yeasty but not aggressively so. The pizza oven is wood-fired so you get hints of that charred flavor. They didn't over-sauce the pizza either -- an all-too-common error, IMO. We really wanted to try the bread pudding, but we just ran out of time (we had theater tickets). Hubby got a specialty beer, and loved it. Our waiter was superb (didn't catch his name). The atmosphere is very unassuming and unpretentious, down to earth and casual, warm and familial, and it wasn't that loud which is nice because sometimes I can get really bothered by noise. They were playing John Lee Hooker (vinyl LP!) on a record player, complete with skipping (loved it). When we arrived it was already dark outside, and we couldn't see a sign on the front of the building, so I guess you just have to locate it using the address (there was only a sandwich board on the sidewalk "WOOD FIRED PIZZA BEER"). Listen to me... GO HERE! You will not be sorry. We are coming back for sure. read more

This place is still fairly new (I think 6 months?) but already surpasses any of the previous tenants here (Quizno's anyone?). What a perfect addition to the LQA neighborhood. We are OBSESSED with this pizza. I'm bummed some people didn't find it exceptional, but I guess not everyone enjoys good tasting pizza with high-quality ingredients. I mean, this place is busy EVERY night and everyone I've taken here loves the pizza! (but you'll never wait very long unless you have a huge group of people - or it's 8pm on a Friday...) We can usually squeeze 2-3 people at the bar somewhere, or in the family style seating in the center of the restaurant. The pizza crust is literally the most amazing dough I have ever eaten. I could probably eat here every day of the week and be happy. It's wood-fired so you may get a few crusty/burnt pieces, but it never takes away from how yummy this pizza is. You can't go wrong with any of their classics - Margarita or Sausage (make sure you add the peppers!) - or whatever they have on the menu for that week/day. The meatballs are also delish (a little spicy too!). They have an amazing rotating beer selection (& like a hundred other kinds in bottles) that you cannot go wrong with. It's like Browers for beer with delicious pizza. What's not to love? Go give it a try - and then go back again. Keep in mind this place is 21+ and is on the smaller side, but I think if you are a pizza + beer lover you'll enjoy this cool & hip addition to LQA! read more

I work in Lower Queen Anne, I come to this place often. The Staff is always courteous and speedy. The menu is limited, but honestly you are coming here for the Pizza and great selection of Local Beer, what more do you need. The Pizza, is always great, never soggy, they always seem to use the freshest ingredients, which I am sure is helped by a limited menu. If you find yourself coming up to QA and were thinking about doing something different than Pesos. You need to try this place. You will be back, and craving it. My only wish is the beers were not rotational, because sometimes they get amazing beers, and when you go back POOF it's gone. read more

The best pizza that we have ever had in life. Light crust and wonderful flavor. Fantastic beer selection as well. Can't rave enough.

I really, really wanted to like this place because it had good reviews and it's a cute spot. We ordered the truffle mushroom pizza, and it was baaaad. I mean, really bad. So bad that even though we were starving we didn't eat much of it. We gave the leftovers to a homeless man outside and even he wouldn't eat it...seriously! I don't know if it was just a fluke or what, or if we ordered like the worst pizza they have...but it was like alllll garlic....huge chunks of garlic. More garlic than mushrooms. Also, the cheese was burnt. So all you could taste was burnt pizza and garlic. It was pretty much the worst pizza I've ever had. Still 2 stars because the place was so cute.. read more
