I also wished it had one more sauce like a creamy chipotle mayo type of sauce. The tacos gobernadors were okay--did the job, but I didn't find myself craving more afterward. This was a great spot for Mexican seafood & molcajete. The tostada flight platter was great to try all the types of ceviche. Our favorite was the fish and shrimp ceviche. The octopus was decent too. The molcajete was the surprising favorite. The asada was grilled well and flavorful, the shrimp were great, the chicken was tender and juicy and soft, the chorizo was good and the broth was very good. The cactus and cheese and green onions were also excellent. The servers sat us and gave us complimentary chips and salsa which was decent. They were very attentive and friendly. The margaritas we got were fruity and sweet but also decent alcohol. I liked my strawberry margarita. The atmosphere is very chill and homely and lively. So if I would've made this review yesterday, it would've been four stars all around because yesterday was my first time visiting and it was absolutely a phenomenal choice I made . I ordered the langostinos and a michi. The Mr order the asad plate which he loved and also a michi. I got my food spicy and like I said it was delicious. so much so that I bragged about it to my brother-in-law, and we went back again today and sadly, it was not the same experience in regards to food. My rice and beans were semi lukewarm. The shrimp were not prepared in the way, they were the previous day. Also , this time I was charged for making the shrimp spicy. When I came. The first time. There was no extra charge. Not a fan of the inconsistency. I was completely disappointed. It seems like maybe there's possibly different cooks because I don't understand. Our total came to $151. We ordered the camarones a la plancha, a pulpo y camarón cocktail, four shrimp tacos, and ceviche. That's something I value most when dining at a seafood restaurant. The shrimp tacos were cooked perfectly; the shrimp was tender and flavorful, never chewy or rubbery. The ceviche portion was also very generous, and my husband and I were able to share and thoroughly enjoy it Another thing I always pay attention to is cleanliness. As soon as we walked in, the staff warmly greeted us while actively cleaning the blinds, which immediately made a great impression. My daughter needed to use the restroom, and I was pleased to find the bathrooms spotless and fresh-smelling. As a guest, those details matter because they create a comfortable and welcoming dining experience. Overall, the restaurant and food were excellent, and the freshness and quality truly stood out. The only area that could use some improvement is the service, as it did not quite match the quality of the food and atmosphere. After a revamp to their restaurant, I was excited to come back and give it a shot. I always loved their diablo shrimp and this time was no different. I love when the food makes my nose run. The place looked much nicer and the ambiance was quiet, but bright and cheery. I really liked their new tile. The service was just ok and we got a charged a really weird "open food" tax, even though we got the food to-go. The prices have also gone way up so it's not a place I can go to as often. I heard good things about this place so I thought I'd give it a try. We were greeted and serviced fairly quickly. They did give us complimentary chips & salsa. I wasn't the biggest fan of the salsa but appreciated the chips. We received our complete order soon after ordering. I got the parrillada & my husband got the raw ceviche tostada. Taste was great for my plate but there were a few random shrimp tails in there and the shrimp was a little overdone which made peeling the skin tedious. I also asked for a salsa marisquera for our dishes but they only have the store bought ones available at every table, if you like those. My plate also came with tortillas, you can choose either corn or flour. I would've totally had the flour ones if they were the good kind and not the pasty white ones from the store. I also did not try the ceviche tostada because I was full but it looked great. Also, drinks were good. The beer was nice and cold and my cocktail didn't taste artificial or syrupy at all. & Although there's room for improvement my overall experience was good. Such a delightful place. No frills, very casual. The service works very hard even though they're a little understaffed and they're very friendly and helpful. We ordered the Parrillada sin fin which would easily feed 4. It didn't come with the avocado as was shown in the menu photo possibly because we ordered a side of guacamole. Overall a wonderful meal. The fish was perfectly done and the vegetables were just right and well seasoned. I don't add sauce to almost anything. The flour tortillas tasted store bought, next time I'll order the corn. The guacamole was wonderful. The Parrillada sin fin is a little pricey but with three hungry people we had leftovers so it's a good value, especially for the quality and abundance. We will return often. Only reasons it's not 5 stars is the price, the super casual atmosphere (folding tables and folding chairs), and it's a little understaffed so the service is slower (servers are fast but there's more tables than a couple servers can handle). read more
