My favorite ceviche spot and I don't mind driving an hour in traffic for some ceviche. Who doesn't love a sweet, kind, and welcoming abuelita making you bomb seafood. She is so genuine and always greets us with the most contagious smile. The sweetest thing today is when we stopped by to have lunch was she was telling me it has been a while since she hasn't seen us and she was worried something happened. Heart of gold she is! She makes me feel like I'm coming over to my abuelita's house to eat. We normally order the ceviche camarones and the camarones mojo de Ajo. BOMB! Mid. I've been craving ceviche and my go-to spot is Chente's down the street but they've been closed for some reason. Anyway, I decided to expand and try a new place. The reviews seemed like this was a good place but it was just ok. I thought I would be served fresh ceviche but when I asked for some the woman at the counter walked over to a fridge where it was already packaged and handed it to me. Some of the reviews talked about how they served big portions but it was served in a small cup for $17! Like I said, I've been craving ceviche so I decided to bite the bullet and pay for it. Haven't been to this location in a while and decided to have lunch since I'm back in the area! I went with my go to: camarones a la diabla and jarritos de naranja since they didn't have horchata. Chips and jarritos made it to my table. Server forgot the salsa and when asked about it the server (an older lady) had the gentleman at the sink bring it. I had forgotten to ask for added octopus on my camarones a la diabla and did mention not too spicy (for health reasons)! There was a guy at the sink who yelled, "mejor solo mantequilla." Unnecessary comment since 1. I am paying for my food 2. That's poor customer service. I ate my food which is delicious as always get up to pay. We ordered the ceviche on Yelp recommendation and came here realizing it wasn't prepared right. The shrimp itself is still raw and grey, rather than white and opaque, which means the cook isn't prepping the shrimp an hour or two ahead of time to let the acid soak into the shrimp enough to kill off the bacteria. That's how you make ceviche! The dude serves ceviche on a platter of e-coli and hepatitis. The flavors are pretty good, though. The nerve of that guy to berate me and a friend with, "Don't you understand food?" And yeah, holmes. This is the Chinese guy telling you how to make ceviche. That's embarrassing. read more

I came here on a Sunday hoping for a cheap seafood meal, and while I was really impressed by the food, I think the service, price, and ordering process needs a lot of work. This place is a pretty small building that's easy to drive past, and there's a small parking lot in front that's shared with the liquor store and a few other shops. We had no problem finding a spot. I came with my boyfriend and we were planning on getting three orders, but when we found out that each entree is $14, we settled with two. You get a good amount o food in each order but man, $14 per dish is pricey as all get out. I understand that seafood is costly but I think dropping the cost even $2 or $3 would help make it all feel a little more worth it. We got the ceviche de camarón and the camarones a la diabla. Both were so fresh and delicious; I have no complaints about the flavor. The ceviche wasn't too fishy at all, and the little chopped veggies and juice added fresh flavor without overpowering the shrimp. Pair this with the free chips they provide and you will be golden. The camarones a la diabla were definitely my favorite though; a bunch of shrimp, heads on, covered in a spicy red sauce. Honestly one of the few times I've really been impressed by a "spicy" sauce. It wasn't too hot at all, but it actually added a kick, which can be hard to find since most sauces on seafood are so mild and buttery. I would absolutely recommend this dish, 10/10. So now for the not so good part: it honestly feels like they haven't worked out the kinks or something with regard to the ordering process. The cook had to come over and help the cashier figure out how to swipe our debit card (plus there's a $3 charge for using a card), and when they did charge us, they charged us for 3 entrees instead of 2. We noticed this and brought it to their attention, and they paid us the difference in cash. So make sure you check your receipt after. The cook was friendly but the cashier was pretty stoney-faced; she just sort of blankly stares at you and doesn't say much. Knowing Spanish is helpful just for reading the menu, but the cashier speaks English so no worries there si no puede hablar español. :) So the food was great but overpriced, and the service eventually got the job done just needs to work on it a bit. I probably won't be back unless they drop the price, but I'd recommend it for just the camarones a la diabla if you're in the area and absolutely craving seafood. read more

I was ready to write a pretty cranky review of this place warning others to go somewhere else, but then I ate the food. Had a srimp burrito and it was probably one of the better burritos I've ever had. Their prices overall are a bit higher, but the flavor and quantity are on point. Had to wait a bit because only 2 people were working at the time and had a couple of big orders ahead of me, but the wait was totally worth it. This tiny little restaurant is a gem. It is so small but the food is delicious! Aguachiles is one of my favorite dishes so of course I had to check it out. From my experience, a major mistake that I see when aguachiles is that some places leave it with an acidy taste from over squeezing lemon into the shrimps but that was not an issue here, the lemon taste was perfect l. I really appreciated that they devein the shrimps because a lot of places do not take that extra step. First of all parking is bad. I walked into the restaurant and it was super small. I wanted to place a take out order but everything was in Spanish. Alot of place now a days have both English and Spanish. I sort of knew what I wanted in Spanish because I've seen it before. I told i would like fish cerviche. The lady was helpful. She showed me the menu and pointed to the item I wanted. I said, yes. The food is a bit pricey. I paid $14.00 and a service fee of $1.00 which she automatically charge without my consent. My food was ready and bagged in less than 5 minutes. Once I arrived home I opened the bag and it was raw shrimp cerviche. Yikes. I didn't order that. I decided to eat it because I was hungry and didn't want to drive back to the restaurant. I didn't enjoy it at all. The juice in the raw cerviche was in was good. Other than that I will not be returning to this place, I will stick to the place down the street. read more

I think these reviews are fake or at least some are. I bought a 32 oz container of fish&shrimp ceviche for $24 and my god it was saltier than the ocean then came from. My dad and bro were bother amazed how salty it came. Plus they ass so much lemon juice so you dont really get much ceviche. That container only made about 7 tostadas... which comes out to $3. 50*a pop... I would not mind if it tasted good. But this was by far the worst ceviche I have ever had. Best hangover food in town! I'm a religious Mariscos eater and this place has THE best ceviche I've had. Literally a life saver. The salsa they give you on the side is literally to die for. Hell Yeah, this Lucy O. and my shrimp taco spot!!! $3 for a fish or shrimp taco, bombbb salsa and chips. they take about 15 minutes after you order but i leave here happy everytime. other dishes like marisco a la diabla i heard are good, priced around $11-13, and burger specials for $6.
