First time reviewing Mariscos El Chuy the crazy thing about it is, that I've been coming here for years. These are my favorite mariscos they are very delicious, and always fresh and the plates come with great portions. I drive out from the San Fernando Valley just to come and eat here. They have 3 locations now and it's a family owned restaurant. The owner Chuy and his daughter Mindy are very welcoming they make you feel right at home. They are in a new location. The good thing is, they just moved across the street. They have live music, tv's to watch the dodgers games and football along with any other sports. The service is always A1 when I come here I have yet to have a bad experience. Gracias a todo de Mariscos El Chuy for the scrumptious grub.

This is a bomb mariscos restaurant. It gets packed because of how popular this spot is. Service was good. The sushi platter was perfect for my group to dig in, highly recommend. So much flavor in the sushi. They have a good amount of options to choose from. The micheladas are really good and refreshing. Their mojarra frita was delicious. We were stuffed and the sushi platter really isn't very expensive with how much they give you. This spot is worth going out of the way to. Give it a try and you won't regret it.

Been coming here for year. It is my favorite mariscos spot in LA. Everything is a 100/10.

Chose this place to "check out" a new Mariscos spot in the area for my convenience. I always like to drive away from my current establishment. Parking was confusing but let me just clear the air by saying that the lot next to them (that looks like a clinic) is welcome for you to park there. Moving forward, I walked in and waited for a bit "to be seated" as we all should (by the way) and the greeter/waiter by the name of JR greeted me and offered me a counter spot for myself or the booth he saw me eyeing. He didnt make a face or gesture and invited me to sit there. Once i sat, my experience began. Jr was so attentive with me and everyone else, like on the dot. He'd be checking a table out and ill reach in for a request and he would fulfill it right away! His multitasking skills were amazing. I wanted to actually hire him as the manager that i personally am lol. Tostada de ceviche was great! Right portion for the price. The michelada did its thing (ordering a michi can be scary cus some places dont get it right) and man truthfully im here today to give him the review he deserves. The restaurant and environment was really chill, even at the peak hr i was in for. Thank you Jr

Such a great place to get together to grab sushi and delicious ceviche! Everything on the menu is so delicious! They just moved across the street from the original location, right now they are next to the KFC/Taco bell. Must try place! The owner is super nice and very welcoming.

A lot of people waiting. Not enough parking. The girls employees were nice didn't offer a lot of customer service. Food arrived fast. The food portion's were ok. Food taste was nothing that WOW me. We came to try this place because we were in the area, I will not drive here just to eat here again. The ambience was good not loud.

Great Mexican seafood at this Michelin rated restaurant in Inglewood!…read more My friend and I shared the following dishes: Ceviche Marinero: Fresh and tangy with a generous amount of plump shrimp. We asked for another basket of chips (free) to scoop the ceviche with. Crunchy and delicious. Filete de Pescado a la Plancha: The seabass was tasty and delicious! Nicely cooked and melted in my mouth. The side veggies and rice were also nice compliments. Each dish was around $23 - $25. Considering the portion sizes and proteins, these were a great value for what we got! You also get a complimentary basket of chips at the beginning with an actually spicy green salsa. The interior and exterior of the restaurant are nice. I liked seeing the display of news articles about this restaurant displayed. The service here was great as well. Our server mainly spoke Spanish, but that wasn't a problem since I spoke a little bit and he was very attentive. Overall, a great experience here. A good spot for anyone wanting Mexican seafood near LAX/Inglewood.

From the outside, this little spot looks more like a tax office than a restaurant, and even with the sign visible from the street, it seems easy to miss. Once inside, there are tons of awards and recognitions on the walls. We sat on the outdoor patio, which was cute and had a family-backyard feel. We were attended quickly and service was very friendly. For food, I ordered the ceviche marinero, my son the tacos gobernador, and my husband the ceviche de pescado. My ceviche was decent but nothing that stood out. It was a bit too acidic for my taste, but so was my michelada. My son devoured his tacos quickly, though I noticed there wasn't much shrimp in each one. My husband's fish ceviche was also decent, but I'm not a fan of fish ceviche in general because of that slight "dirt-like" taste (but, that's just me). Overall, I wasn't super impressed, but it is a solid spot for sure. If you're in the area and love seafood, it's definitely worth trying. Maybe your experience will be much better than mine.

As for food we got the Combo 2 and our choices were shrimp, clams and snow crab. We went with the Torpedo sauce for our boil cause it was a mixture of all their other sauces (garlic butter, classic cajun and lemon pepper) and we got it at a medium spice level. And oh boy oh boy did it set our mouths on fire but in the best way possible!! The sauce was everything we wanted it to be, spicy, savory, garlicky, tangy and just pure indulgence. To calm the heat though we also got cajun fries, rice, Thai tea and Jasmine milk tea. Sharing a meal with a friend is always nice but sharing a meal with a friend here is great. I believe food is the ultimate uniter and I'm happy we chose to go here!! My one and only con is just the location because it was a bit sketchy especially at night but the food and service was so good I think it's still worth it to go.

The menu lists market price for their seafood, but nowhere to physically see the prices so you must ask the waiter. I ordered a pound of head on shrimp in spicy torpedo sauce (their house combination sauce) and some mild cajun fries for sharing. The shrimp was well cooked and a nice aroma of garlic lingered from the chunks of garlic visible in the sauce. The sauce had decently chunky bits which adhered to the shrimp well enough and was delicious with a nice kick of heat. The shrimp were less than fresh but perfectly palatable. The Cajun fries were lightly seasoned, with a crisp (but not too crunchy) coating, similar to the exterior of an onion ring. They were great for snacking and whetted my appetite well. All in the food was good, but I just wish the shrimp was fresher to lend some subtle sweetness and fresh feeling to the dish.

My partner actually suggested we go one day, so we decided to finally give it a try. When we walked in it wasn't crowded at all, just a couple sitting inside, and we noticed some people out on the patio. I asked if we could sit outside, but the employee said it was dirty and would need to be cleaned, so we stayed inside. There were two young guys working/Serving. As more people started coming in, it seemed like they got a little backed up and rushed. One of them dropped off complimentary chips and a green salsa, but he never came back with our waters or to actually take our order. He kept walking past our table several times until we finally asked him if we could order. He recommended the marlin tacos, saying they were more flavorful than the regular fish tacos, so we ordered those along with aguachiles (one of my favorite dishes) and a shrimp dish cooked in a red sauce. The complimentary chips were freshly fried and good. The green salsa, however, was extremely spicy. I normally enjoy spicy food, but this one was a little too intense for me to really enjoy. I ordered a pico de gallo, which tasted fresh but needed a little salt. The food took a while to come out. The marlin tacos arrived first and honestly they were the highlight of the meal. The flavor was really good and I enjoyed those the most. Then the aguachiles came out, and that's where things kind of turned for me. The shrimp still had the full heads on them, which personally grosses me out. The second shrimp dish in the red sauce also came with the heads on and served on a hot plate with rice. I removed the heads and tried a few bites, the sauce was okay, but not for me to continue eating. Between the wait time and service I was over it. At that point I mostly just finished the tacos. One thing I did enjoy was the cucumber-lemon agua fresca, which was refreshing and really good. Service unfortunately never improved. No one came back to check on us during the meal. When we were ready for the bill we had to flag someone down, and even then we waited quite a while. Eventually I noticed another customer waiting too, so we both just walked up to the cashier and paid at the counter. Overall, the food was okay, but the service and wait time made the experience worse. If the service had been better, I might have been open to coming back to try the ceviche or shrimp tacos. Unfortunately, based on this visit, it's not a place I would return to.
