Was a gem for many years. Food is good. I don't know what happened if they underwent new management or what but the place got painted and decorated from the inside (some of the things on the wall used as decoration are offensive) new people taking orders and the new lady who takes orders sometimes is very rude over the phone and in person. The older gentleman and lady who used to run the place were the gems there providing excellent customer service. Ok, I don't like writing negative reviewws. However, I was here because two friends recommended the place. I genuinely wanted to have a positive experience. Parking is small but it was slow when I arrived. When I walked in a older gentleman with thick glasses took my order. I ordered the fish and shrimpp soup (sopa de pescado y camarones). I was starving had not had any food the entire day, we all know that when you are hungry anything taste good. Not this soup, it had no flavor at all, the vegetables were old and it was NOT worth the $17 i was charged including a Mexican coke. Perhaps the other foods do taste good but the soup was horrible. I ate (half) because I was hungry. I did not make any compliants s or make any suggestions because I am certain that if you do complainn here more than likely they kick out. Parking is also inadequate, compact & overfull space behind the tiny restaurant; located right next to a populated liquor store in the hood, so street parking also challenging as there ain't much to none. I probably should have tried the shrimp or fish since this is a Mariscos place but I was not disappointed with the Al Pastor burrito I ordered. Not sure if it usually comes with chips but they threw some in along with pickled veggies and the chips were great. I wish I had known in advance that it's CASH ONLY and so i almost had to leave but thankfully I keep an emergency cash stash in my car. The man at the counter was friendly and happy for my business. Just something about the way the meat (pork) is crunchy yet meaty and juicy at the same time gets me! Definitely a must try! And it's not too fatty either like some Chicharron can be, it's just perfect. :) I usually order to go and enjoy it else where because the dining area is not too welcoming for my dining taste and on hot days it's really hot in there! Also it's a hit or miss with the person at the cash register taking orders, the guy who is usually there is not very friendly but I just want my burrito THAT bad that I look past his attitude and enjoy my meal anyway; I hope they do something about the service soon though.. I come here usually with either my husband or my mom. The store is local to my moms and has great pricing. It does seems alittle old but well taken care of. They have a seating area that can accommodate about 70 guests. The cashier is usually the same man we see every time so I'm thinking that he may be the owner. He is really nice and takes care of the order right away. They don't have registers so they use the ticketing pad. They are usually very good about checking the to go orders to make sure they don't miss anything. I usually order the shrimp burrito and hubby usually ordered tacos. We also get the medium ceviche. The shrimp tacos are so delicious and well marinated. The shrimps are large and cooked in some sort of red sauce. They also put cilantro and onions on them. The burrito is super large and contains beans / rice salsa and everything just works great together. I either get it with shrimp or meat. Both proteins taste great in there. The ceviche is out of this world. Probably one of the best ones I have ever had. This is because it's a shrimp vs most places serve it with fish. It's not fishy at all. They give you the crunchy tortillas along with it. Overall an awesome spot for a quick meal that tastes almost home made. Large portions for the price. I definitely recommend. read more

I usually get the carne asada tacos or burrito and the mixed seafood cocktail which has shrimp, octopus and abalone. The tacos, IMO, tastes about the same as what you get off the taco trucks. The tacos comes with a red sauce which is a little spicy, but good. The soft drinks in the bottles are just like the ones you get in Mexico or over the border. I thought this was a cool touch. My wife was in the mood for Mariscos... We usually go to Puerto Escondido that is located in Westchester, but I was too lazy to go so she suggested this place that is near her parents house. I've driven past it a million times but never thought to stop in and check it out. The Jesus art in the place is freaky !! I felt like I should go confess or something. Anyways, I ordered Tacos de lengua and Al Pastor for me and a Tostada Mixta (crab, shrimp,octopus, and Abolone) and for the wife I ordered a couple of shrimp ceviche tostadas. I was pretty disappointed. I have had better ceviche from Northgate !! Don't get me wrong, it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't the best either, and if you know the area, its definetly not worth risking your life for. LOL...
