I haven't had Anthony service any of my Apple items yet, but he did recently help me in a big way. I ordered an antenna flex cable from ifixit that turned out to be defective. The Mac Studio had it in stock at a very reasonable price. Also, he was very friendly and knowledgable. He also made sure I knew not to put the wrong screws in the wrong places since that would kill my logic board. Just based off this interaction, I wouldn't hesitate to bring any of my troublesome Apple products to him. And yes, I managed to eventually fix my phone. My MacBook Air needed a battery replacement. Everywhere I went, including the Apple store, said that it was going to take 3 to 4 days. Who has three or four days to leave the computer? I found The Mac Studio on yelp and decided to give it a try! They told me that they could switch on my battery within three hours. I thought it was too good to be true! So I took a chance and brought it in: and everyone there was professional but super friendly, knowledgeable and defiantly understood my needs. I knew I was in good hands, but I was still skeptical that they would have my computer done within 3 hours, and thought for sure they would tell me that they needed to keep it overnight. To my delight, in less than three hours, I receive a text saying that my computer is ready to pick up. Not only did they switch out my battery very quickly, but they also cleaned up my computer. It was sparkling when I got it back. I was very happy with the service I was provided. My Mac wouldn't turn on - they found a screw loose that shorted everything (a factory defect most likely). They replaced everything and it still went work. If you have a water damaged iphone, try Anthony at The Mac Studio. I dropped my phone down the loo (I know, I know)...then I found out my photos had not been backing up to the cloud. Sentimental ones were missing and I spent hours upon hours on the phone to Apple trying to restore from old backups and find these photos. I had a quote from one data recovery place and they wanted to charge $1700 to get the photos off my water damaged phone (ridiculous) Another place said they would be impossible to retrieve. Anthony was a breath of fresh air, knowledgeable, friendly and understanding and did some exploratory work. He told me up front it would either cost A, B or C depending on which parts would need replacing in order to retrieve the data. He performed the 'surgery' and magically retrieved my photos! Don't wait another minute... Go and see Anthony at The MAC Studio! I always go to the Apple store at 3rd St., Promenade in Santa Monica. I got an appointment with them (which took a week) and they saw my MAC Book Air and said I needed a new battery...and then told me I needed to wait 14 to 17 days to get the battery!! They added: Perhaps they could rush it and get it back to me in 7 to 10 days. (Hahaha that's crazy is what I was thinking)! Due to the nature of my business, this would be impossible for me. They had no other alternatives, so I called around and found Anthony at The MAC Studio. I made an appointment for the very next day, dropped my Mac off at 2 PM and picked it up at 5 PM. I had my Mac book pro fixed in here. Apple store told me the device would cost over $700 to be fixed, of course they want me to buy a new one. Thankfully I met Anthony in The Mac Studio, and he fixed my laptop for a good price (under $250). And I eventually needed the device to be shipped to another state, the shipping cost me around $29 directly from the store. When I receive the device it was packed in a thick air bag which prevented it from being damaged. THEE place to take your Mac in need of repair. I usually buy refurbished Macs and becuse of this, I sort of fancy myself a Mac repair shop connoiseur. I was recommended by a friend of mine a couple months ago when I spilled water on my computer. Initally, I took it to another place nearby. Without opening the keyboard and looking inside at all, they checked it in and charged me 85 dollars for a diagnostic which they said would take a few days. Having never spilled water on my computer, I didn't realize that letting liquid sit longer inside the motherboard greatly increases the chance of damaging the computer thereby increasing the cost to fix it. Of course this repair shop failed to mention that to me. However, upon a quick phone conversation with Anthony who informed me of all this, I turned right around took my computer back and drove it straight to him. Without an appt, he made time for me in between back to back customers (as water on a computer is an urgent matter), opened the computer immediately to let it dry and asses the damage. And thank goddess he did. If I had let it sit waiting for a diagnostic at the other place it woulda been much worse off. He checked it in and was able to fix it for a very reasonable price. It can be rare to find someone in this city with a strong work ethic who is not only highly capable and proficient but also honest. Anthony got me in right away despite Covid procedures and immediately put me at ease by getting to work diagnosing in front of me and explaining my best and worst case scenarios and timelines. Anthony at The Mac Studio saved my butt. First off, this place is not located where you would suspect it by their modest pricing. Located in the heart of Abbott Kinney, The Mac Studio, was able to partner with another very typical cool/hip/trendy shop that sells chick friendly stuff that make guys shrug their shoulders. But look for The Mac Studio's small sign outside and walk through the chick shop and you will find Anthony working away in the back right hand side of the store in his own little studio. Anyway, after buying my MacBook Air about 6 years ago it has traveled the world with me. I have slovenly eaten many a meal over it in addition to hovering over it's keyboard while drinking liquids without giving it a second thought. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago, when I was looking something up at a meticulously clean kitchen counter and was doing some light online browsing while sipping a glass of water at night. It must have been late and I must have been tired because I knocked the glass of water over and caught it after about 1-2 oz spilled onto the keyboard. I immediately flipped it upsize down and it seemed as if I got all the water off the computer (I must have done this in the past because I wasn't the least bit worried that it word turn back on). I powered the computer down and left it upside down overnight just to make sure, then turned it back on in the morning ...and nothing. I went online and read and tried all the at-home options including running my girlfriend's blow dryer (she was not happy with this method) under it on 'cool' setting for 3 days after constructing a little laptop fortress that incorporated an oven grate in my apartment to adequately prop it upside down... 3 days later, and still nothing. Grrr. I went online again to Yelp and called around a bunch of places including The Mac Studio which I expected to be the most costly because of the unofficial Westside Venice markup and proximity to my home, and yet surprisingly they provided the lowest estimate. Venice it is! I called and Anthony was very knowledgable over the phone and asked me to come by which I did. He unscrewed it and opened her up and closely examined and explained what he saw as the likely culprits from the water damage. He gave me some possible options of what it could be and prices to fix each option and assured me he would try his best to fix it for as cheaply as possible and also worst case scenario he would transfer the information from my hard drive to a new one. Anthony is a man of his word. This was especially important because as I mentioned because this computer (spoiler alert: which I'm typing on now) is a 2012 MacBook Air and not valued at much more than the most expensive repair option. I left him the computer and let him know to take his time because I was going on vacation and would be back in a week. Anthony created a work ticket on their system for me which sends email updates to let their customers know of work progress and any updates to their job. Well Anthony opened her back up to try to repair her and tried all the easy fixes but none of them worked. He sent me an email that unfortunately it needed the much more extensive repair that involved micro-soldering at the power connection to the logic board (Mac's version of mother board) as it had water damage. I was offline when they sent the email asking me what I wanted to do, but Anthony must have listened closely because he knew this would have to be an all-or-nothing repair since it wasn't worth the $300+ to fix this older model computer. And this is where Anthony shines and is the reason I'm writing this lengthy review: instead of declaring my Mac D.O.A. on the table after opening her up and calling it a day, he decided to proceed and try a little micro-soldering on his own just for the heck of it. I eventually read the email and got back into town and go to pick it up. Anthony says I only owe him the price of the inspection but explains what he did and that he was able to get it to power back on. He didn't do the full micro-soldering and was careful not to make any bold promises about it being fixed, but lo-and-behold whatever he did was enough to save my computer and for that I am grateful beyond belief. For anyone still reading (can't be many by this point I imagine), if you have issues with your Mac, bring it in to see Anthony. Things may turn out better than expected. But at the very least you will know they gave it their all. read more

My speaker went out and I was unable to do my work on Zoom, which is the only way I am working right now. I have Apple Care for my Mac Pro but there was a 2 week wait and they said that once I brought my computer in it would take 10 days to fix it. I am so glad that the Mac Studio was recommended to me. I brought it in and got it back early the next day so that I could teach my class. They were just lovely, gave me other information that I need to know since I am a total tech dummy. Anthony diagnosed my computer in only a few minutes. After trying to fix it on the spot he let me know it needed a little more help. They were able to turn it around in just a day or two. Loved the service! Most computer repair stores have very unfriendly technicians at their stores, but Anthony was very helpful and explained everything to me very easily! I am not very familiar with any computer terms, so I was worried of getting ripped off, but he had very reasonable prices. My parents dropped their computer, and unfortunately it caused our hard drive to fail. When I first told Anthony of the errors and blue screen that I received, he did caution me before taking my laptop that it sounds like a hard drive failure. His shop is currently under construction so we met a very nice coffee shop a block down from his store. The whole time he was very friendly and answered all of my questions before taking it away.
