I recently spilled a drink on my 2019 MacBook Pro and knew it needed professional attention. After looking at a few options on Yelp, I chose Mac Studio because its expertise in both Mac products and spill-related repairs stood out. He urged me to come in right away (caveat: the parking scarcity near Abbott Kinney does add some delay). Anthony immediately stopped his work to open up and visually inspect my laptop's internals. He did this right in front of me, explaining his findings, and showing me relevant items under magnification. Unfortunately this included a pair of tiny chips with one melted side on each, that I would never have noticed myself, though could easily smell once he pushed it toward me. This transparency (and his obviously skills) gave me confidence I could trust his assessment... which at minimum included waiting 2 days for dry-out, replacing the motherboard, and very possibly discovering other problems once power was restored. He warned that the costs would likely surpass the laptop's value. I'm not a decisive person, but I made the decision to scrap it right there, confident I avoided a potential rabbit hole of cost and time. He also offered his expert recommendation on a new model and specs (which he does not sell, and has nothing to gain). Overall, he spent about 45 minutes with me, and refused any payment for his time. Anthony is accommodating, knowledgeable, honest, and honorable. Mac Studio will definitely be my first stop for any future service needs. Highly recommend! PS. I went today and Anthony, the owner, helped me figure out a solution quickly by putting little rubber stickies on the edges of my screen that would prevent it from cracking. Any questions I had, he answered. Any issues I had, he assured me. Anthony went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. This man is seriously the real deal! Ramiro was there too, but he was in the back, working on, what I assume was a Mac fix. Even while he was working, he made sure to engage in conversation, so that I wasn't awkwardly standing around. After my experience with Anthony at The Mac Studio, I will never go to an Apple store to have my computer serviced. It's great to be able to talk with the person who will work on your computer. It was a holiday weekend, but despite that I still got my computer repaired and cleaned (they clean all of the computers that come in) much faster and less expensive than I would have had at an Apple store. I'd spilled water on my laptop, and the Apple store quoted me a flat fee of $1275 and approximately 2-week repair. The Apple store took my computer to the back for 45 minutes (after telling me they would have it back in 5) and couldn't tell what was wrong with it, but offered that flat-rate package. I found The Mac Studio, and decided to give them a try. Anthony opened up my laptop in front of me, and found (and showed me) an issue with the logic board-in under 3 minutes. I agreed to leave my laptop, and he said that he could try to repair it but it may need to be replaced. I got a call the next day that it would need to be replaced, had a quote on my online account in minutes, and the following week I was able to pick it up, and only paid ~$400! AND it was professionally cleaned for free. I've definitely found a new favorite business, and have no plans to go anywhere else for my computer service and repair. If I could give 10 stars, I would! Anthony is freakin wizard!! For decades I've had computers repaired and looked at, and even done some basic repairs myself, and I've never met anyone so knowledgeable about computer hardware. The hinge on my 2013 Macbook Pro screen was broken. About 5 other places said I'd have to replace the whole screen, roughly an $800 ding after all is said and done. Not really worth it for an almost 10 yr old MBP. But after reading the reviews for The Mac Studio, I thought I'd give it a shot before shelling out for a new Mac. Well, he knew right away it was repairable. He even fixed a USB port that had not worked for years. All for less than a third of what the others wanted to charge (that didn't include fixing the USB either!). And they did extra stuff - cleaned the screen to look like new, added the missing feet to the underside, and replaced a letter on the keyboard that had been worn off...free of charge! All same day service... mind you, I got there right as they opened and lucked out that he didn't have a booked up day yet. If you're having Mac woes, go to this place, no matter how far you have to drive, it's worth it. You want great service, timely, kind and friendly vibe, and just as pro as it gets repairs, then go here for their Mac magic! read more

Yo Anthony is like a Pixar character back there working away like a mhad Mac genius. Over the years he's always solved every issue in a timely manner and at a very good rate. I'm grateful for him. He never recommends something you don't need, super honest, and very responsive. This last time I was in, he had to reload mac os and he ended up cleaning out my laptop from so much dust and didn't charge me. I have had over 13 macs and like 30 apple products total- big fan of Apple- but their repair sucks. I also know a lot about repairs and have don't many repairs and upgrades myself- he's really good. I went in to the Mac Studio last night b/c my phone was not charging and wanted to get it fixed. I had originally had a similar problem where they had to replace the port so when I called back that's what I assumed needed to happen. Other places quoted me $100-$150 to fix it. Anthony, quite casually said, "it probably just needs to be cleaned so bring it in". I came in shortly thereafter and within 5 minutes he had cleaned it out and fixed it without changing or using any new parts...where other guys were happy to gouge me, he was honest and straightforward which I highly appreciate. I took it to another shop and they quoted me $480 for data recovery because there was something wrong with my hard drive and it could take 5-7 days. Very solid repair shop, I highly recommend for any Mac repairs or upgrades. When my 3 year old iMac started having issues, I had my significant other drop off my iMac here. It was pretty sluggish on startup, they suggested I upgrade my hard drive from HDD to SSD. They said it would start up better and run smoother. Boy were they right! When I got my computer home I started it and it loaded right up! My old computer used to take like 5 minutes just to get fired up, now with the new solid state drive (no moving parts) it starts right up. Its FAST! Just like new. I have been to the Mac Studio several times for my and my wife's iPhones and Macs (and a PC), as various issues have arisen. We keep our electronics for a long time, and Anthony (the owner) keeps them all running great. My last visit was for Windows PC issue, and he resolved it. I've also had scren replacements, battery replacements, and other repairs I can't remember over the years done on my multiple Macs. Anthony is very friendly, and explains things in clear language to customers, no matter whether they are newbies or experienced decades-long Mac users. I had my 2015 iMac broken into through the internet by some horrible people. I can't afford The Apple Store, and the last shop I went to treated me as if I was an idiot in the most condescending manner. I most happily found The Mac Studio in Venice, and only a short drive from my home. The Mac Studio is a wonderful place to bring your Mac device to be fixed by excellent repair people. They are very friendly and the pricing is friendly too. They have been very helpful to me in my hours of need. The Mac Studio team is truly wonderful! They know what needs to be done and it is usually finished in a short period of time. And everything is explained so you really understand it. Such a lifesaver! I brought my laptop in after it experienced an unfortunate water encounter. I was panicked but am so glad I found Anthony was close by. While there was nothing that could be done about the laptop itself, Anthony could not have been more helpful and friendly! He took a look, complimentary, to see what could be saved and thankfully the hard drive was still in good shape. I assumed this place was going to be either a) ridiculously expensive, or b) ridiculously pretentious, but only because the shop is tucked inside a cool Scandinavian boutique. Honestly, I'm not sure where they rank in terms of pricing but they were such friendly, helpful, honest and genuinely nice guys that I didn't want to take my waterlogged phone anywhere else. They were straight up about what they could and couldn't do, and they kept communication open during the entire two-day repair, offering helpful advice along the way. I knew my phone was in safe hands! And I was right, because although they aren't miracle workers (alas, a phone dropped in whiskey cannot be saved), they did manage to rescue all 6,000 photos. Hopefully this is a problem I won't have again, but I'll head straight to Mac Studio if I do. read more

I had a still valuable MacBook Pro with a very cracked screen that rendered it useless. After investigating other local options, I decided on Anthony. He was expeditious with his reply on yelp, and honest about my options. I went to see him at his little nook within a hip boutique on Abbott Kinney. He did extensive research for me, and offered me the best option he could find to repair my screen. And this was during the coronavirus outbreak, when Apple operations were slowed and screen supplies were scarce. Within three days, I had my good as new computer, with a new screen, for a very reasonable cost. Believe me- I researched all of the other options. It's not often these days that you find a business owner that goes above and beyond to answer your questions, doesn't try to oversell you, and makes sure that you are happy and at ease with your decision and investment.
