So your MacBook Pro of 4 years refuses to start after some battery charging issues, and you cannot find an appointment with a genius at Apple, who do I turn to, Mac 911. Super easy to get an appointment. I turn in my laptop and they said within a day they will diagnose and confirm the issue. I get a call within 24 hours, that the issue is a fault IO logic board, they have it in stock, and can do it for a very reasonable price, within an hour! I was dreading paying a ton since they charge $145/hour for diagnostics if you do not have Apple Care+, but it all worked out with very reasonable labor charge and a very very cheap part that's officially from Apple, that also comes with a 90 day warranty. Ali was great and very responsive. We approved the estimate and got everything done on text. Pickup was easy, no lines, no wait. If you have an issue with your Mac, you may be better off avoiding the lines and parking issues (park for free on 3rd street and walk) or get easy metered parking in front of shop. I am pleasantly surprised and will recommend them for any out of warranty or within warranty Mac issues! read more

This will be a "No-Brainer". Woke up this AM to discover my MacBookPro would not charge, tried three different adaptors, nada. Hopped online ordered a new adaptor, and paid the vig to have it delivered. An hour or so later with new adaptor in hand and all plugged in...still nada. Called Mac911, told them the issues, they said bring it in, we'll diagnose your Mac, and if it's a simple issue and we have the parts we should be able to fix it in a day. Took the BBB over to Main Street was assisted right away. Hw took my MacBook and new adaptor tried it and once again..nada. He then tried my new adapter with his usb-c to usb-c cord and VOILA, my MacBookPro came back to life. He suggested I get a new cord, I laughed...(like an idiot) and told him I had three brand new usb-c cords at home. Asked what I owed him and Mac911 has been around for years, and I'm sure glad they're there. Saved my life as this is the beginning of my "Silly Season" at work. Fantastic service! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! I was having trouble with my 4+ year old iPhone XS Max and called Apple Care & found out that my battery was at 77%! Evidently it's never supposed to go below 80% or your phone could just stop working. I can;t afford to let that happen... could anyone?? I'm sure most people would just buy a new phone but I have zero funds so found out I could buy a new battery and have it installed for about 1/10th the cost of a new phone. I used money from my GiveSendGo campaign to purchase the new battery. The Apple Care rep told me I could go to the 3rd Street Promenade Apple Store to deal with this and I said absolutely not cuz there's too much crime there; I've already been a victim of crime at the hands of a drug addicted violent monster and don't want to be anywhere near these dangerous whacked out zombies roaming our streets ---- that our horrendous City Council actually allows and encourages to persist! The Apple Care rep told me about Mac 911, an Apple authorized store, and that worked out perfectly for me. Felix took care of everything as promised at the price promised. My pup knocked over my computer and cracked the screen. Came in, zero wait and they gave me a quote - it was high but that's life - and in the end, they fixed my computer no problem. The screen also took a bit longer than expected to come in (they had to order it from Apple) but they called me with updates so I was never in the dark. Overall, was a bit easier than going to the big Mac store and much closer to my house so I'll be back if I ever have any other issues. read more

Where to Start? 2019 MacBook Pro died after a security update thanks to my company's IT department! It's not often that i give 1 star reviews but this one was too easy to give. I made an appointment online via Apple to get my iPhone screen fixed as the front is cracked. I made an appointment at 12:20 which i arrived on time. With no greeting or hello, i told the guy i had an appointment and issue. Took about 10 minutes for the him to tell me that they can't fix my phone because they don't have any more screens and it will take 2-3 days. If that was the case, why did you allow me to set an appointment via Apples website. You can obviously tell the guy didn't care and I wasn't going to waste anymore of my time as I just went down the street. Extremely bad experience and will not recommended. read more

This is one of those types of places you hate to go because it means something broke, you're gonna have to spend money and you're in a vulnerable position where they know more than you do and you may get hosed.... Not so with Mac 911. A month or so ago, I started to get alerts my battery on my 2012 MacBook air was dying and needed to be replaced. Because my laptop has been obsoleted by Apple Store they pointed me to Mac911 who took care of the problem in about 45 minutes for what I consider to be a very reasonable price (same or similar to apple store). Immediately saw improvements to my computers speed, and battery lifecycle. Recently something started to happen where the battery would indicate full charge but then the laptop would just shut down unless sit was plugged in. Yesterday I called mac 911 and was told they'd need it for a few days to figure out what was wrong with it. So today, I went back in and was prepped to be without my laptop for a few days. When I got there the guy took a look at the computer, ran a diagnostic, opened up my mac swapped out the battery with a new one - apologized for getting a defective one and sent me on my way all within 15 minutes. While they may not be the greatest over the phone (sounding all doom and gloom with no personality) I think they are great in person. Quick. Attentive. And I truly appreciated not getting some crazy runaround to buy a new battery again or pay for diagnostics or some such crap Ive had pulled at other types of businesses. Hope I never have a computer take a dump on me, but if I do and its off warranty, Mac911 has my business. read more

Been here twice, once because my cat took a bite out of my mac book pro display and broke it, and the other because my keyboard (butterfly) key broke off and wouldn't reattach. Both times I needed no appointment, just walked right in and was immediately greeted. ​Apple told me it was going to be $476 just to fix one small button on my keyboard and an additional $199 to get my battery replaced. On top of that, I would have to leave my computer with them for 3-5 business days. When I called Mac 911, I told them what was wrong and informed them that my battery was fried and they replied with enthusiasm​ that it was perfect that both my keyboard and battery were having issues because those parts are connected and I would be getting pretty much a two for one deal. They informed me if I dropped​ off​ my computer in the next two hours I could have it back in two days. They were fast, kind, and my laptop​ is in perfect shape. I can't tell you how pleased I am with the service here. The Apple store failed to correctly diagnose a problem several months ago which came back just recently. The Apple Store was going to charge me over $700 for a new part and service, and I was thinking of just simply buying a new computer that would have run me over $2000. When I brought my computer in, Ali correctly diagnosed the problem in about a day and guess how much the replacement part was? $30! And it was the same issue which I had pointed out to Apple and they mistakenly said it was not that problem. I couldn't be more happy. I have a 2010 Macbook Pro and it was just so slow I was considering making the jump to a 2018 model. I didn't really want to pay $2,000 for a new one, so I started exploring my options. I heard a story of someone who upgraded their hard drive and it fixed a ton of issues. Long story short, I decided I'd go for the new hard drive to see if that'd save me money. I called Mac911 because I live in Santa Monica and wanted a close fix. I didn't expect much, but Allie told me about my options. I brought it in and same day it was ready! I spent $350 and got a 1TB SSD hard drive. When I got home, to my complete shock, my Macbook Pro runs like I just bought it!!! They cleaned it up too so it looks kinda new. AMAZING for computer Apple Repairs, does not service iPhones. I've gone here twice for repairs under AppleCare to my MacBook Air and pro. There typically no wait compared to the Apple store and their turnaround is faster! I've had laptops go out for entire screen and logic board swaps and they came back in 2 to 3 days. They were up front and clear, quickly took in my computer and diagnosed in front of me (I had a black screen that needed to be replaced), AND let me know possible turn around times for getting computer back (5-7 days). They even let me know all options if I didn't want to have screen replaced by them. I had called a few other other places that gave me runaround about diagnosing. (Unitek said it would take my computer for 10-12 days...diagnosing would take SEVEN DAYS).
