I walked in because my Macbook Air 2011 wouldn't start up, not even in Target Disk Mode. They hooked up a boot drive and got it online so I could see which files were on this computer and decide how much I wanted to spend on renovating it. I offered them a tip ($20) because I didn't actually need the service, but they refused. MacEnthusiasts showed me what I needed to get things up and running for no fee. Not many places will do that anymore. I'll be coming back when I need other work. read more

These guys totally saved me! My MacBook Pro was not able to handle the amount of video projection I was using for a theatrical production so I needed to rent one. Mac Enthusiasts went above and beyond to help me. They delivered a computer same day and when that one wasn't compatible with the equipment I was using they worked with me to format a computer with an older operating system that would work. Got an iMac at Mac Enthusiasts in 2012. Never had any problems with it. Yesterday iPhoto wouldn't open. Took the iMac to Mac Enthusiasts this morning and found it needed to be updated. (It still has Mavericks). Mac Enthusiasts updated the iMac (which they had previously updated from Mountain Lion to Mavericks around eight years ago) to Mojave and checked to make sure everything had updated correctly and there were no other problems with the iMac. Everyone was very nice and very helpful (as everyone had been on all the previous times I was there) and the updates were done sooner than the time of the original estimate. read more

My late 2012 Mac mini crashed and would not boot normally after that. After some time spent with apple support, could not really solve the problem. Brought the Mac to Mac Enthusiast who diagnosed a malfunctioning hard drive. They replaced my old fusion drive with a SSD, charged less for the hardware than amazon and waived the inspection fee. My daughters Apple laptop would not power on I had taken it to the Apple Store and all they wanted to do was upsell me a new one and so I found Mac Enthusiasts. I took the laptop there they did a diagnostic for a fair price that was also applied to the fees for fixing the laptop which is wonderful they gave me a fair price to fix the laptop and it was all done within 2 days!! Which was phenomenal so I highly recommend this business as they are friendly and quick and their prices are very reasonable. read more

Do not go here. I brought in a laptop to be fixed, paid $100+ and thought everything was fine. Within 2 weeks it was broken again. Literally used the repaired computer twice before it stopped powering on entirely. When I brought it back they said it would cost between $600-$700 to fix. Do not waste your time. If you need your Mac fixed - spend the extra time driving and go to New World Mac in Burbank. They are friendlier, more knowledgeable, and easier to deal with. read more

Just had my 2nd great experience at this place. My Mac was giving me pinwheel city and I took it in to get it checked out and get my RAM upgraded. Four years ago I had my 2009 iMac upgraded with a solid state drive (SSD) since it was crashing and they totally extended it's life from 6 years to 10 years! That's an incredible life span for any computer... 10 years?? I was a fan of Mac Enthusiasts immediately. This trip, I noticed they upgraded their offices and was immediately offered a water by Matthew. Daryl was the one I had spoken with over the phone (and dealt directly with on the previous visit) and he couldn't have been nicer. After the work was done, Ronaldo called me to let me know and was quite professional and pleasant. He and his team made sure the RAM I bought on Amazon (never do that, apparently!) didn't totally corrupt my drive and crash a great deal of video edits I had made recently. Daryl gave me really great below-market pricing on solid RAM (with installation) and I just feel great about the experience. If you're on the westside of LA or close by, these guys clearly don't have high turn-over at all and run a solid business that caters to keeping long-term customers. I'll note that in all of my reviews, I only write one if I have an AMAZING experience or a TERRIBLE experience. This one was clearly the former :) read more

Many people hate going to the dentist. Not me. My fear is taking a computer to be repaired. Well, at least it was a fear until my first experience at MacEnthusiasts. Last week, my mac displayed the blue screen with the spinning wheel. I had driven by MacEnthusiasts many times so I checked the Yelp reviews then took my mac in to let them figure it all out. While I resorted to daily pagan dances with incense to provide some luck, I received a few calls from MacEnthusiasts that let me know the problem and the progress. They gave me hope and I picked up my mac this morning. The issue was minor and the cost relatively painless. I'm so grateful to Buddy, Eric and the team that were friendly, courteous and professional. Wow this was a good find! while I was in the guitar center down the street i was actually referred here to find a product that that location didn't carry, maybe I should give that branch an extra star come to think of it? So if you dont know by now im a huge computer geek among other things and I needed to upgrade my macs to leopard. My G5 has been crashing like crazy and my powrbooks too, so its basically time for some upgrading and restoring. The store is fairly small with different size monitors out on display, one thing that was cool were these new state of the art firewire drives they had, i never seen or even heard of the company I was kinda in awe... after doing the research on it ill probably be buying one tomorrow! read more

Great experience over here! I had some short term needs for several computers for an on-site business project. I flew in my staff, however, getting the equipment here would have been a nightmare. I've been coming to MacEnthusiasts for literally, forever. Since the '90s! The first time was a spill on my laptop and they retrieved my data. Which made me love them. A few years later, I had another computer situation which they also repaired for a fair price and quickly. Fast forward to Covid and remote work. I needed a desktop that worked with the software being used at unscripted production companies. Matthew set me up and explained everything to me in a way I actually understood. I love my Apple Desktop! And it wasn't even a fortune. It's perfect for my needs. When my MacBook Pro died recently, MacEnthusiasts was the first place I thought of to go... obviously! I got a MacBook rental to tide me over while my laptop was repaired. Again, reasonably priced, easy to get and had all the programs I needed. They saved me. Did I mention that Matthew is really nice? The staff here is truly professional; Mario & Matt always make me feel heard and like I've been well taken care of. I had a logic board that needed replacement on my 2015 Mac Book Pro and after trouble shooting over the phone, I brought my computer in, and they had the part in stock and boom, in a matter of a day my computer was fixed and back to normal. I doubt the "Genius" bar at Apple could handle that quick of a turnaround at an amazing price. I recommend all my friends and family go here for top notch service, affordable pricing, and above all else, just a good environment.....after all who wants to spend HOURS at busy Apple Stores! I've been scammed $500 and this is By far the worst experience, customer service, rudest behavior. The staff had a disrespectful attitude And not only argued but raised her voice they transfer me to three people and the main guy avoided to pick up. I had work done here like 5-years who. Maybe this company changed stage and has gotten very bad. They took forever with my computer keeping it for weeks. I later discovered they switch my battery and I've noticed all kinds of stuff was on my computer. My 100% battery would die in an hour. I mean all kinds of weird stuff like a roaming disk or CD ROM kept showing up but obviously it was linked up with another computer. It was totally bugged up and signals for hazards were showing. It was completely hacked and bug I called and messaged him a couple weeks later they brush me off and I send him another message another month later but nobody cared to help. I was never told they can fix it with any accommodations given the fact they had it several weeks, or about warranty and no one offered to pick it up offer a loaner while they fix it again or anything. Wow so I end up paying $500 for them to fix an old laptop that end up dying just three months later. They will take advantage of you so I do not recommend this place. I started to dispute it with the bank and instead of them having morals to just give me a refund they are going to fight with me And the bank...and not even offered to fix anymore. read more

I'm so glad that I brought my computer woes to Mac Enthusiasts before I looked at some of the reviews. I may have never brought my MacBook Air for the fixes that it clearly needed. Great thing #1: Matt was at the front desk, asked good questions, and determined that for sure I should have a new battery, and I knew I needed to increase the computer's memory. Also, there were a couple of other glitches that needed attending. Matt is kind, funny, and smart. Great thing #2: I didn't know computer fix-it stores had rentals! I am a home-based business, and my computer is integral to my ability to stay in business. Access to my computer was a big reason why I didn't bring it for repair. So I couldn't have been happier knowing that I could rent at a reasonable rate. Great thing #3: Also met Ron that day. he is patient and kind. He also made sure that my rental was fully loaded with all of my data. I was in and out of the store within 30 minutes. He is also the mac mail whisperer. Great thing #4: The rental was perfect in every way and I'll likely buy a similar model for back up, or when a colleague stops by to do some work. Great thing #5: My MacBook better than it has for a long time. I am super happy with the results, the service, the cold bottled water. read more

I wanted to like this place - I really did, but I just had way too many bad experiences. I called to check out a Mac rental (my computer was in the shop and I needed a rental to cover work while it was being fixed). The guy told me it was a flat fee of $150/2 weeks -- and it would be $150 if I rented it 2 days or the full 2 weeks. Cool, works for me - lets go ahead. PROBLEM 1 When I got there, the check in process is brutal. First and foremost, the guy had no idea about the rate I mentioned (the $150/2 weeks). He claimed that the guy on the phone just made that up! Off to a great start! He offered me a week rental for $100 - which I thought was super cheap and affordable, so I was all about it. Then the check in process from HELL started. The guy behind the desk had no idea what was going on - took me about 45 minutes to just pick up the machine. He kept saying it was some new system and thats why it was taking so long, but it was also really clear that he had no idea what he was doing. The manager came out and was literally walking him through the steps - I had a front row seat for a training! Instead of her handling it and then teaching him after, she was training him (at a painstakingly slow pace) in front of me.) PROBLEM 2 The machine I got was an absolute piece of shit. It kept crashing on me over and over again. Their tech support was super helpful, but after having to call 3 times in the first 4 hours of a rental, I had had enough. Their response was, "Come pick up a new one" -- which I thought was very gracious on their end, but I just didn't have time to do that. In the end, I borrowed a friend's computer and returned it. PROBLEM 3 When I returned the computer (literally the next day), the manager was very apologetic and offered me a complete refund (of rental cost + security deposit). I thought, "Well you know what? That's pretty great of these guys. They could have been dicks, but they chose not to be." WRONG. 3 weeks later and the charge is still on my credit card. I just called them and the accounting person told me "I have no record of a refund for this -- nobody told me." She was saying it to me like I was going to give her some sort of fucking empathy or something for the lack of inter office communication, but I just politely asked for it to be handled. She said she's doing it now (as I type this). In summary, if you're a Mac geek who wants to punch your clown over old Mac products, this is your Disneyland. But if you are a busy, working professional who needs a company that can assist you or support you in anyway, this company sucks ass. read more

Thank you!! First off when I called a very friendly guy walked me through the online form for computer service. I'm a composer and had an older cheese grater Mac I love. I ended up needing to roll back my hard drive via time machine but it ended up glitching and getting the ghostbusters crossed out o sign. Apple support via phone couldn't help and said to prepare for the worst. I brought the tower in and paid for expedited service. The rate for service was EXTREMELY reasonable, and Rolando (who saved 3+ years of my work) was able to restore my entire hard drive. I am seriously so grateful to this company. The sweetest techs EVER. I didn't have any problems with my computer before so I wasn't sure what was wrong or who to go to. They were extremely thorough and took care of my MacBook Pro when my screen went out. It took about a week for them to fix because they're super busy but I was able to call in and get an update on the progress without hassle. Love this shop. The guys who work here are incredibly nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. I was in the middle of a tight deadline and my computer couldn't render out footage fast enough so I rented an iMac Pro from them. Their prices were more reasonable than a couple other rental houses I checked in with, and they carried a computer with the specs I needed (whereas some other shops didn't). I was able to arrange a pick up an hour after I called. These guys are life savers. I will becoming back the next time I need to rent a computer or need something fixed on one of my own. While I was in the store, I also witnessed how the guys at the front patiently helped an older tech-illiterate woman understand why her computer wasn't connecting to WiFi (don't think she bought anything or had in a while).
