Met a friend of mine from work here as she recommended the burgers and she was absolutely right. I ordered a burger without a bun with lettuce and tomato, and it was extremely flavorful. It was cooked exactly the way I would cook it at home, medium rare and I really enjoyed the taste. I was able to get a side salad and that was a very generous portion that they gave me. This is a casual place to go for lunch as you go up to a counter and your order and then you pick up your food when your buzzer goes off. They have a decent menu and I noticed may folks enjoying milkshakes. They must be good! This location is easy to find and there's plenty of parking. read more

One of our regular favorites. Glad to see the Loop reopen after getting flooded out last year. Split a bar-b-que pizza and salad with the Mrs. One of our favorite "comfort food" combinations. You place your order at the walk-up counter and you get a beeper that lets you know when your order is ready for pickup. What I eat here again? I do on a regular basis. Went to The Loop in Chapel Hill again but instead of pizza, we ordered something we haven't ordered before: a $13+ BBQ Chicken & Bacon Cheddar sandwich (with choice of side, and of course, my girl's favorite salad: Caesar salad with tuna steak (instead of chicken). First of all, we're grateful that unlike most restaurants in Chapel Hill, The Loop doesn't close until 10PM. Sometimes, we end up eating dinner late, and we don't want to just settle on food from Cook Out or a taco truck. As expected, The Loop wasn't crowded around 9:30PM; customer service is excellent with no issues. Its dining area looks safer and cleaner than a typical Waffle House. BBQ Chicken Sandwich & Caesar Salad with tuna steak were ready after around 12 min. - seems reasonably paced for this kind of food. The side we chose with the sandwich was steak fries, and we asked for a small cup of Ranch sauce for dipping. Fries tasted crispy & Ranch is better than the bottled kind you get from a grocery store. The grilled chicken inside the sandwich was well-cooked, and the barbecue sauce & cheedar made every bite flavorful. The bun tasted fresh, and the bacon added a smoky taste. It's nothing fancy but not bad for the price. We shared both the sandwich, fries & the Caesar Salad with the grilled tuna steak. My girl squeezed lemon on the salad to enhance it with slightly sour taste. Our latest dining experience here proved that The Loop can still be an enjoyable and inviting casual place to eat after 9 P.M., even if we didn't order pizza. read more

I haven't been here in at least 15 yrs or more. Back then we tried it several times and weren't impressed. We thought after all these years since they were still around that things might be improved. Well, somewhat. We each got a chicken wrap, one just chicken salad, the other chicken tenders. Neither one was very impressive. A very big wrap, but nothing to write home about flavor wise. We also each got the French oinon soup, which is actually creamy, unlike any I've ever had before. That I would recommend. While it doesn't have the depth of beef flavor as traditionally made, it was still very good and a huge crock of it. In fact, with the size of the soup, we really didn't need the wraps and took most of them home. I would definitely come back for the soup again, especially on a cold day or evening. All that being said, there was a steady stream of customers getting take out, although not many that were eating in, so they definitely have an audience for their food. read more

A group of coworkers and I met for a team lunch at The Loop recently. I had the BBQ Bacon & Cheddar sandwich, for which I chose steak fries as a side. Both were satisfying enough. We met at exactly noon and did not have a problem finding seating. The ordering process at the The Loop is one where you place (and pay for) your order at a counter, after which you are handed a pager which will be used to alter you when your order is ready to be picked up at the same counter. Preparation time for our food was reasonably quick. The only real downside to The Loop that I can think of is its location in the Eastgate Crossing shopping center, which can be a traffic and parking nightmare even on the best of days. Still, I enjoyed the food and wouldn't mind trying some of the other items on the menu, as there appear to be a lot of good lunch options there. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone but I wouldn't tell them to not go there. Their French fries are awesome but their salad was mostly lettuce. I've been here a few times and it's pretty good. My mother-in-law loves this place, so we come here when we're in town. Since COVID took over, she wasn't able to stop in, so I was happy to bring her in after I learned they were taking precautions. They had limited seating, tables were had plenty of space between them, they clean tables pretty often and have hand sanitizer in the front by the registers. As for the food, it's okay. The last time we ate here, we both had burgers--they're pretty big and I loved the fat fries. I've also had the pizza before and my mother-in-law really loves the salmon, too. Service was good, obviously because of COIVD people aren't chatting up customers or getting too close, but they are friendly and our food only took a few minutes before it was ready. Prices are affordable and the menu has something for everyone, even the picky eaters. If you're looking for a casual place for lunch or dinner, this is a good spot and there is plenty of parking. read more

I used to dine at The Loop a lot when I was growing up in Chapel Hill. It was a casual place that was good for families. We happened to be visiting Chapel Hill during the holidays and decided to stop in for dinner. The interior is a bit different from how I remembered with new booths, tables, and interior decorations promoting their ingredients and processes. Much cleaner and modern than I remembered. You can go up and order and dine in, or take it to go. I tried the Cajun chicken sandwich with Jack cheese. After you order, you get a buzzer and you go up to the window to grab your food once it's ready. Food was pretty quick - I would say it took 5-7 minutes. Their sandwiches come with the tomato, lettuce, and onion on the side so you can add whatever you want. Any sauces are already on the bun. Fries were hot and cooked well. The spices on the chicken were pretty well balanced. They did give my mom the wrong bun for her chicken sandwich and the cashier explained that they had been out of sesame buns until a few minutes ago. They gave her a new one right away. The business is located in a shopping plaza so there is plenty of parking. The restaurant is a nice size with many tables and booths in the dining area. When you walk in your order is taken at the counter and you are provided with a buzzer to let you know when you meal is ready. You are provided with cups for self-serve drinks. There are three sizes for the pizzas. You can make your own pizza combinations that are charged by the number of toppings or you choose one of their combinations. We ordered the meat market pizza. There was sausage, pepperoni, smoked bacon, and beef on it. The pizza was not bad but I would not get it again. If I ever return I think I would order something else like a burger or a salad. The ones I saw in the restaurant looked good. While we were dining the servers were very attentive & took away dirty dishes and trash. read more

I saw that there was a UConnection sticker so I tried to download the app, but it wasn't useful anyways since the phone service in the restaurant was not good. They do have wifi, but the password is written on the receipt after you pay. My friend ordered a pesto chicken ciabatta sandwich with a side of steamed veggies. When she was ordering, the man asked about the side she wanted when she was ordering. He proceeded to say that all of the sides were no extra charge except for the bleu cheese chips and sweet potato fries ($1 more). She orders a side salad. "Oh, that's an extra $2." Ok...careful with the communication! I ordered a mushroom swiss burger with cheese and a side of steamed veggies. This was a different experience for me. First time I had to get one of those buzzer things to let me know my order was ready for me to pick up from the counter. I was also pleasantly surprised that my meal was served on a real plate, not some plastic or paper one. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with steak fries. I appreciated the toppings (tomato, onion, lettuce) being on the side so i could choose if I wanted them on the sandwich. The sandwich had a little bit of heat and a good taste. Thought the steak fries had the right level of crispiness. As others have said, the place does get crowded and it is a bit noisy. read more

When they are good they are excellent (hamburgers are juicy and delicious). However, when they are not good you almost don't wast to eat. Our first impression was that the dining room is really worn and desperately needs to be refurbished. Not only that, but it is dark because there are so many lightbulbs that are out- which there is no excuse. But The Loop is a popular spot. On a Friday night it was full of families with lots of kids, it felt like a Chuck E. Cheese. I think the appeal here is that the menu is good for a kid-friendly place and there is beer and wine, combine that with $2.99 kids meals and it brings in the younger set. At The Loop you order at the counter and grab a table. You are given a flashing pager to notify you when you food is ready. There was a long line to order, but it moved very quickly. The dining room, even though it is worn, was kept clean by a crew that continually bused tables. We ordered the traditional five cheese pizza with mozzarella, goat, parmesan, feta, bleu and the pesto based sausage and goat cheese pizza, with sundried and Roma tomatoes. Both pizzas were excellent. The crust was fresh and cooked perfectly with a nice combination of thin with a puffy edge- if that makes sense. The ingredients were fresh and the amount of toppings was spot on. I noticed several people eating salads which also looked really good. We enjoyed the pizza so much that we will definitely order take out from The Loop, just skip eating in again. I'm giving it four stars because the pizza was that good. read more

I was pretty impressed with this restaurant. It wasn't a place we'd anticipated coming to, as we were in town celebrating my daughter's graduation. I had heard quite a bit about this place while listening to the radio during my commute between my home and my office in Cary, and this was my first time actually setting foot in the establishment.
