A solid pizza, not remarkable, but good. The antipasto was ok, some of the lettuce looked to be a little old, but we worked around it. Always good French fries. This place is always bust, and their service could be better. All in all, a good bite before a movie. As far as ambience, if a loud/small room is your thing, this is your spot. read more

I used to love Alfredo's when the owner (Alfredo?) was always there running a very tight ship of his mostly teen employees. Nowadays the owner is rarely there, the place is usually a mess, and the hours are extremely erratic. Twice in the last month I arrived an hour before closing to be told they were closing early because it had been a slow night. Tonight I called at 8:30 to see if they were open and the man answering the phone said they'd be open until 9:30. I then called back about 20 minutes later to place an order and was told by the same man that they were now closed. I love the veggie pizza! Fresh handmade pizza and always served with a smile. They have been in the same location at university mall for over 23 years. Though hard to find we did it and we were excited to arrive and check in. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is kind and tolerated my questions! You get a discount for paying cash too! The garlic knots smelled delicious and came out piping hot. The cheese crust is thin and crispy. The cheese tastes the closest to NJ as we have found in NC. Verdict is cheese is best and it's a toss up for the BBQ and Buffalo. The best however were the garlic knots. read more

This place is racist towards people of color, they intentionally burnt my to-go pizza, i dined in with 2 other friends who are caucasians and the pizza that we ordered to eat inside was perfectly fine. The pizza that i ordered as a take home pizza was severely burnt, they intentionally burnt my pizza because they absolutely had enough time to remake my pizza while we sat inside to eat, they burnt my pizza due to me being colored there's no other explanation for it. Alfredo's is a pretty solid pizza joint located in university mall. They offer a selection of pizza by the slice when dining in, which is always appreciated when you have a group with diverse pallets. If you like ranch with your pizza - name a more iconic duo - theirs is some of the best. The quality of the pizza itself is pretty good and reminds me of many a slice I've sampled in NYC. Service is pretty quick - usually within five mins of ordering- and the staff are nice. Sometimes you have to clean your own table before sitting but I feel like that's part of the pizza joint experience. read more

This is a great one, so close to Kidzu and perfect after a few hours of play. The slices make life so much easier and the garlic knots are amazing! It's making me drool just thinking about it. I haven't patronized this place since staff was very rude to my daughter who several years ago returned a pizza that was supposed to be gluten free (for a person with Celiac disease) but was not. But decided to finally give them another chance. Ordered pizza online plus a bunch of extras, for an expensive bill. Went to pick up at 5 minutes after the end of the online promised time. Told by the cashier that it wasn't ready yet. Sat down and awaited being called that it was ready. 15 minutes later I went back to the cashier to see what the delay was; turns out it was already done when I had arrived, and had been sitting there ready for pick up the whole time. By the time I got home it was stone cold and congealed. And this white pizza I'd ordered (and reheated), did not have any of the basil that the menu promises, and was overall mediocre. Amongst the best pizza in the chapel hill area near campus. Found it freshman year and for the next four years rarely ordered elsewhere, and when I did I always came back to Alfredo's. Dough, cheese, sauce, and toppings, all are great, and the prices are decent as well especially for the size. Also they have great ranch to go with the pizza if you like that. Staff is always extremely friendly as well, good for takeout, delivery, or dine-in. Would highly recommend. read more

Can be a little hard to get to because of all the construction around town but they deliver and are also available on some of the food delivery apps as well. Their Sicilian pizza is my favorite. Pretty good for the price! A sizable slice of cheese with a topping came out to $3.25, and if you follow the restaurant on Instagram, you get three free garlic knots! I had a decent lunch here before seeing a movie at Silverspot, and would definitely recommend eating here (and skipping concessions at the movies!) read more

Nice folks that work there. Nice ambiance. But it's the dough and gravy. I'm sorry but the heart and soul of a pie is the dough (foundation) and gravy (red sauce). Both were clearly lacking umph. Good quality toppings but if I don't like the crust and the lack of sauce to cover my pizza, I'm just not sure it warrants the steep prices. Not going back.... I ordered online for delivery to a hotel. According to policy, drivers are not allowed to go into the hotel so I had to meet the driver in the parking garage. I didn't have cash to tip and I had no way to add a tip to the order, nor did I have a receipt to sign. I felt bad about that and the driver said I could call in to tip. Not even 45 minutes after eating, I get a call asking me if I want to add a tip to my card. First of all, I should have said no at that point because who knows if it was them or someone phishing for credit card information. I found them to call me to ask for a tip to be rude! I didn't have the heart to say no, and that's on me. The food was great. The crust on the pizza was flavorful and not too chewy. Our first time here and we will definitely be back. The pizza was beyond delicious ! Hand tossed crust and the sauce had just the right sweetness. We usually go to IP3 for pizza in Chapel Hill. They were closed for renovations so we tried out Alfredo's. So glad we did !! It's a very small place. We were here on a very cold January evening. I'm sure the pizza ovens warm up the front of the restaurant just fine but every time someone opened the door it was freezing in the back. Be sure and dress appropriately. Tables out front. Pizza is decent but service is terrible. We placed an order for a 5pm delivery at 1pm that day. We recognized that Friday nights are busy so planned ahead and placed the order at 1pm. We had a group to feed prior to an event and the pizza never arrived before they had to leave. We called 3 times and were told that our pizza was en route each time (which was not true), it arrived 1 hour later. Asked to speak to the manager and the guy on the phone refused. As a recent transplant to the Triangle, we've been trying to find the pizza joints that most remind of us our favorites from our former hometowns. After one order at Alfredo's, we just might have found a place that fills the New York thin and crispy slice style. I would highly recommend the Spicy Pepperoni as a topping. It is full of peppery flavor with no shortage of heat. It is unlike any pepperoni I've ever had before, with closest similarity to the old world pepperoni from Marco's. For me, another sign of good pizza is how it holds up the following day cold straight from the fridge. Dough was still perfectly chewy and I wished I had more than one slice remaining. The Garlic Knots and Lemoncello Cake were also incredibly good. While it ended up being worth it, the cost seemed a bit on the high end. I would definitely like to know how I can get some coupons to encourage more regular future purchases. read more

Avoid at all costs! I've been a customer for years, so this is based on a history of orders and recent experience. Generally, the pizza, appetizers, wings, pasta entrees are mediocre. Not anything you would recognize as quality or even good pizza. And generally the quality has been going down steadily over the years. The one advantage for me was proximity and typically a decent delivery time. Even then, delivery was sometimes late, with missing items, etc. Recently I ordered a delivery and the delivery driver drove on to a walkway (which had a sign saying no cars) and then backed up through a planter bed running over an electrical line and garden statutes. I still have no idea how the driver could have thought the walkway was a place where he could drive his car...coming within inches of my house and barely being able to back out. All of this recorded on security cameras in full. I called the store the next day and asked for the manager. That took ten minutes to get him on the phone, and then he acted as if he was not interested in addressing the damage. No apology, no customer service. Just said he would speak to the owner and would get back to me. Also trying to pass the blame onto a delivery agent. It's been a month, and no response, or follow up. My suggestion, if you value your property and don't want a delivery driver damaging your property- avoid at all costs. There are much better options out there for pizza. It's not worth ordering bad pizza and then need to pay for damage to your house! read more
