I usually order the Great Reuben (Original, not Light) or the Fettuccini Alfredo, with a glass of Jason's Deli freshly-brewed sweet tea or Coke Zero. I've been going to this particular location at New Hope Commons for more than a decade now, not as frequently as before, but not rarely, and I notice there seems to be a slight downgrade when it comes to their food quality in recent years. I remember when in my first visits in Jason's Deli, every time I ordered a Reuben, the cashier would ask if I'd want regular or baked chips and my choice of side (usually I get French Onion soup, a fruit cup, or a side salad), but in my latest visit, I was not asked any of those. And what happened to the pickle dill that they usually include with the sandwich? Jason's Deli doesn't put that anymore. Yeah, sure you can get it from the Salad Bar, but it's usually included on your sandwich plate. I also prefer baked chips over regular, so when I got the regular chips I was slightly disappointed. I usually order the full Original Reuben (Corned Beef, not Pastrami) sandwich but they also have Manager's Special which comes with half of any sandwich of your choice + a cup of soup, which is not a bad combo for a slightly cheaper price. While the amount of beef in my latest visit was good, the Reuben in my sandwich tasted a bit cold as if it wasn't heated enough. The amount of kraut was good, and the Thousand Island dressing in the sandwich was fine. However, one corner of the rye bread was soggy, leaving me disappointed as I pondered how better Jason's Deli used to be. Jason's Deli's salad bar is decent with a good variety of toppings, cheeses, and dressings you can add. You'll have to pay additional if you want to add protein though. I tried having chicken breasts in the salad, and it tasted okay. You can get the Side Salad added to your sandwich order for about $6 or if you want a bigger plate, you can get the Garden Fresh Salad Bar for about $11.45. Both options are fairly price. They also have other specialty salads I haven't tried, so if you enjoy eating salads, you might enjoy Jason's Deli. Fettuccini Alfredo is not bad but not great. Don't expect it to be like Carabba's; it's a cheaper pasta but fairly priced; it comes with chicken and two pieces of bread, sauce is creamy enough. Chicken quality is better than its Italian neighbor, NY Pizza at New Hope Commons. My girl also enjoyed the penne with meatballs and marinara sauce. I also tried their wraps a few times such as the Ranchero Wrap, which is a Mexican-style wrap Southwest spices. Wraps and most of the foods in their menu are healthier than an average fast food chain. They also have a good variety of typical soups like Broccoli & Cheese, French Onion, Chili, and some Noodle Soups, so overall, menu items are what you'd expect from a deli chain. This Jason Deli location is at the center of New Hope Commons, close to the bus stop where many homeless people wait, and at one time, I saw a couple of them freely enter the restaurant without paying for food, and just eating the complimentary ice cream Jason Deli has for its customers. This is probably why they put coded locks for the bathroom doors: To prevent non-customers from accessing them. Overall, place looks spacious enough, even if it could get packed during Sunday lunchtime. Jason's Deli's soda machine and sweet tea options are convenient. Sweet teas are freshly-brewed, and fantastic with lemon. The complimentary soft-served ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, or a mix of both) with the small cones or cup is nice but at one of our more recent visits, the ice cream machine was down. Food was served fast, and someone brings it to your table, and someone also cleans them up, so overall, customer service is fine. The main reason we go to a Jason's Deli is for the Great Reuben, which is sadly, no longer great; hopefully, management will be able to improve overall quality of it. Back in the day, I used to have lunch breaks here every time I hang out in the Barnes & Noble nearby. It's still the best place to get food in this New Hope Commons shopping area but that's not saying much since there's not a lot of other options here: There's a NY Pizza place, a Subway inside Walmart, a Philly Steak spot that seemed to have shut down, so I'm thankful that there's still a Jason's Deli here. read more

We needed an easy late night dinner after soccer camp at UNC. Jason Deli seemed to serve our needs for this crazy crew. When we ordered I felt like we were inconvenience to the man at the register. When I asked him a question (gluten free menu as well as the Hawaiian bowl allergy info) it was a simple "I don't know". A lady then stepped in front of us while we were looking at the menu so I just stepped to the side and talked to the other man at the register. He was completely helpful! We placed a potato order, club sandwich and Hawaiian bowl. The food was plentiful. The Hawaiian bowl had rice that was very hard and dried out. I think they scraped the bottom of the rice cooker :-(! The ice cream machine was out as well. I am assuming they started to close down early and not replenish or refresh items which was discouraging. Not sure I would stop here for dinner. Jason's Deli needs to count their days. Lately the quality of service and the food leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered a side salad and CB Potato no bacon no sour cream. What I received was a potato with extra sour cream no butter and no salad. I called the restaurant and the person who answered the phone could have cared less and basically said it wasn't their problem call Door Dash. It's been forever since I've stepped foot in a Jason's and I'm glad I finally did. It's a great place for when you have a number of people with different tastes and appetites as there are lots of choices and options for dietary restrictions. I had the Turkey panini and thought it was delicious. You can customize it to your liking and get an option of sides as well. I think their sandwiches are a step above Panera which I find to be short on what's on the inside and the bread was much better quality as well. I ordered the baked potato as well and balked at the $10 price but the potato was as big as my head and lasted for three meals so no complaints here. I've been to Jason's Deli's only twice, but I - and the large horde of people that I came with - was way more than content with the food. The portions are generous and the food is rich, filling and delicious. I had a quarter of a muffaletta my first time and I was overwhelmed by the complexity of flavors in that one bite. The second time that I came here, I got a children's menu (even though I'm 20) quesadilla with fruit and apple juice. It was under $4 and it was fantastic. So, so good. "Sandwiches, soups, salad bar, and soft-serve!" Always liked this location pretty well- the sandwiches are PILED with meat and usually pretty good. The soups are pretty tasty. The salad bar (see picture) has good fresh vegetables (never wilted), but also has a variety of other items like pasta salad, cottage cheese, mixed fruits, watermelon, banana pudding, mixed nuts, mixed dry fruit, corn muffins, etc. And of course, there's free soft-serve. Although I occasionally get soup or a sandwich, my standard dinner here is to just get the salad bar- it's all-you-can-eat, tastes good, and (mostly) healthy. Price is something like $7, too, so fair price, quality, quantity, health. What more can you want? This location has always been clean, and the service has always been fast and friendly. This site change me slightly on how I feel overall about the chain. Atmosphere - spacious, busy, clean, cafeteria influenced. Food - This review is based on two visits w/ take-out orders. On my first visit I had a custom sandwich that consisted of turkey, lettuce, and tomato on a hoagie bun. It was decent. The thing that won me over on this visit was the side of Garden of Eatin' blue corn chips and the awesome Blueberry Pomegranate Sports Drink w/ cane sugar. The chips I love and normally buy in the grocery store...but the drink...um, it was like...I could not stop drinking it!! On my second visit I had the Amy's Turkey-O. It was similar to what I had on my first visit as I opted against the avocado and cheese. I liked the onion bun. It added nicely to the overall sandwich. Again, customer service was excellent. Price - I think the first visit was pricier, as I got the crack drink. On the second visit it was only $5.49+tax, which is a great price for a tasty sandwich and chips! However, the second I pull apart my grilled cheese I know something is wrong and there appears to be a small piece of paper hanging out. I was right!!! Jason's Deli is pretty good value for your money. We eat here fairly frequently, perhaps once a month. Food quality and service are always pretty solid. Our favourite orders are: California Club on a croissant, the Reuben or Rachel, southwest chicken chili soup (although beware the sodium -- this is very salty and I often find I have to water it down), and chicken pot pie soup. I wish we had one of these where we lived! We only came here one time during our stay, but I was impressed. They have a great variety of things to choose from and everything is made fresh, which is great. I ordered the Muffaletta with the salad bar. A little pricey for your average lunch, but it was really good and filling. I was actually surprised that there wasn't much of a line, so we ordered right away and found a table. I put together my salad and by the time I came back to the table, the rest of the food had arrived. I will say, I was really impressed with the salad bar. There's a great selection of fresh veggies and toppings and several salad dressings to choose from. The restaurant is very bright and clean. There's plenty of seating and it's not too crowded. I saw people cleaning tables and the sweeping while I was there, so everything is very tidy. If you're still hungry after your meal or have a bit of a sweet tooth, no fear!
