I really wanted to like this place but there were too many things working against it during our visit, even though I had a gift certificate. First of all, the AC was not working on the night we visited so things did not get off to a great start. It was warm in the dining area. The lighting was dark (maybe to not add to the heat). We enjoyed our Thai ice teas and seaweed salad appetizer but found our entrees (angel hair special and marine couple) just okay -- nothing special. The scallops in the marine couple were pretty tasteless. The owner came by and chatted with us a little bit, which is always nice. We've had tastier food at other local Asian restaurants so we'll probably pass on coming back soon. We wish them well.

1st time visit and everything we ordered was delicious. Crab Rangoon's= delish, sesame chicken=delish, chicken n steak hibachi=plenty of food and so good! Can remember the name of the last plate but it was just as good. Didn't take but a picture of the sushi. Sorry

We stopped by for dinner on a Wed night. It was around 6-6:30. There were maybe 6 people eating in. There seemed to be lots of take out. The inside dining space was very dimly lit. Hubby wanted sushi. They have BOGOF. I did not find the sushi to be very good. We got spicy shrimp rolls and I couldn't find either the shrimp or the spice. The crab Rangoon appetizer was a winner. We also got a chicken pad Thai to split. Also not so good. Too sweet and not spicy enough. Even though I ordered chicken, I found more tofu in the dish than chicken. In my opinion, the menu is too big. Make it smaller and prepare those dishes really well. We may try again - but I really doubt it.

Came here tonight for the first time for dinner. The restaurant was very quiet and had some nice decor on the walls. I ordered the sushi regular dinner and my friend got two of their BOGO rolls. The rolls were presented beautifully! They came out on wooden platters which I had never seen before. The waiters were friendly and the meal didn't take that long to come out. My only complaint is that the restaurant was very very cold, which made the experience slightly less enjoyable - especially since it was a very cold and rainy day.

I come here so often I was shocked to see I had not left a review yet! I LOVE it here. Their food is great and they have BOGO sushi deals! but I have to say their pad thai has my The convenience of online orders and pick up is great for me, but the ambiance of the restaurant is so calming and great spot to hang out and chat with friends or take yourself out for a date!

Of the many restaurants downtown, I especially appreciate Thai At Main Street's flexibility around serving large groups on relatively short notice. We came here on a Friday night (always busy in Durham). We called half an hour in advance for a group of 8 people, and by the time we arrived they had a table ready for us. The inside isn't large, but even though all of the tables were full, the volume was very reasonable. At our table of eight, we had no trouble hearing one another and conversed as a group. Service was prompt (even though the place was packed), and the food came out within 15-20 minutes. I got the Drunken Noodles, which I've had here before & always enjoy. My partner got the Pad See Ew, which was also phenomenal. Two in our party got the pineapple fried rice, which was a big hit (even with my slightly picky younger sister!). Overall, I recommend, especially for short-notice dinners, large groups, or anyone just craving some fresh, flat rice noodles (i can never get enough of those).

He informed us that they were unfortunately out of the Thai BBQ Pork we had ordered (unsurprising, given that Thai BBQ Pork is delicious!), and asked us to pick out any other appetizer we wanted as a substitute. We picked the potstickers (to which DJ said, "I'll give you two!"), and he assured us that they'd be out quickly. We sat at the bar and waited, taking a moment to look over the cute and cozy interior -- definitely a nice spot for a date night or dinner with friends. "Great Thai food in strip mall"…read more Came here at 7pm on a Saturday night-- I had heard this place was good, and I was a little surprised just how small it is-- a little place in a strip mall similar-looking to a lot of strip mall Chinese or Japanese mostly-to-go spots. The restaurant was brightly lit and had maybe 6 tables (though a few were pushed together for a larger family sitting together at the other end). We were greeted quickly and told we could sit wherever we liked. The menu was pretty simple-- choose a noodle style (e.g., pad thai) and pick a protein to go with it. There were a few curries on the back, too. I got the pad see ew, and my girlfriend got the drunken noodles, both with tofu. She also ordered a fancy juice of some sort that I don't remember now. Food came very quickly-- 10 minutes or less. Both the quality and quantity were EXCELLENT. I LOVED my pad see ewe-- very flavorful and not too greasy. The broccoli in it was clearly fresh, too. My girlfriend loved the drunken noodles (it was spicy!). And the juice was excellent. We each finished only half to 2/3 of our food. Service was great-- I got refills quickly, and the server not only checked on us but was pretty friendly/ chatty, asking about our weekend plans and such. The restaurant was also clean, including the restroom. And price was fair-- something like $16 for each dish before tax and tip. Only one complaint-- the temperature was weirdly hot. It felt like it was 80F in the restaurant. I thought it was just me, but my girlfriend mentioned it too as we were leaving. Not sure what the story was with that! Overall, excellent food, great value, and I'd happily come back, though perhaps I'll skip the heat and get take-out. Or maybe come in winter to warm up-- ha ha.
