I had an Offline offer to use at this location. I went with the Ahi Tuna Poke bowl. They make it in front of you so you could add other toppings if you wanted (assuming added costs). I will say it is a little pricey for the amount of food that you get so I wouldn't want to eat here that often. The taste was pretty good but I wouldn't say it was outstanding. I also ordered a pink drink and it was good and refreshing. If you're feeling like eating something healthy, I would come here. It probably helps that it's right next to O2 fitness. We had eaten at another Happy + Hale before but not this new location in the U Hill area. We came on a Wednesday night with a special offer from a local dining club. They are like many other fast casual places that offer a variety of salads, bowls, breakfast items and beverages. Our server was very quick and efficient, and we got our quinoa bowl and protein bowl very quickly, plus cups for our fountain drinks. The food was delicious and filling, and their ice tea drinks are very unique (one had dragonfruit). The good: - City of oats smoothie: delicious blend of dates, banana, strawberries, PB, cinnamon, oats, almond milk. - Breakfast wrap: very filling, good mix of eggs, quinoa, cheese, bacon and two veggies (I chose tomatoes and sweet potato) - workers are all very nice and helpful! The bad: - açaí bowl is a whopping $14.50 and it comes in a tiny bowl of forgettable toppings with watery açaí base. Learn from my experience and don't order this, save your money. - Hale Caesar may be one of the worst salads I have ever eaten at a fast-casual salad place. Maybe they made a mistake with mine but the kale base was an inedible sodium dump... it was SO salty that I couldn't finish half of it. I did enjoy the buffalo cauliflowers on top. This was a great option for a quick, nutritious lunch. While perusing the menu I saw a few options that stood out to me, and what I really liked was the variety of bowls offered. I could satisfy a few different cravings all in the one place. I chose the Hale Caesar and when I asked for no tomatoes they offered me switch it out for something else. The Buffalo cauliflower was delicious, not crispy, but the flavor was so good! The other crunchy bits made for an exciting bowl. She then proceeds to come over with a attitude because I interrupted her using her cellphone. I still addressed her politely by saying hello, how are you and she completely ignored me. I visit this location when I'm close to UHill (either when I'm shopping at Li Ming's + Target or working out at O2 Fitness right next door). This location I feel has slightly limited options (e.g. no roasted peppers and onions). Also given COVID, the hours have slightly changes: Tuesday through Sunday. However, the food quality and freshness are as consistent as the 9th Street location, which means I can reliably place my salad orders at this Happy + Hale. I'd highly recommend Hapoy + Hale in general for a fast, easy, and healthy lunch or dinner, especially after a workout at O2! read more

Excellent location and establishment. I've enjoyed Happy + Hale on 9th street since it opened, but it's a slight drive for me just for lunch or dinner. The new location is right new my work and gym and I couldn't be happier. The location feels ever so quicker than the 9th street location since it's dealing with less foot traffic and less students taking up spots working on their laptops all day long. The staff is super friendly and the parking situation is 100 times better than the 9th street location. My go to is the Protein Bowl with a spinach base and avocado or the Bueno Bowl . One of my favorite places to eat at the South Square area and they have a nice amount of outdoor dining during these covid times too. read more

This location is closer to my job, so this location is more convenient...so I thought. This review comes after a detailed email that I've yet to receive a follow up/reply from the owner. The last few times I've visited, I noticed that the buffalo cauliflower was rubbery and not as fresh. I asked to sample the buffalo cauliflower during my last visit, and it wasn't good. Unfortunately, for people who has dietary restrictions, the vegetarian options, like cauliflowers is left uncovered and expected to last for hours. The owner has claimed that this is because people complain that it's soggy. The time slot set for freshness that the restaurant follows is contingent upon the protein options being covered, not uncovered.
