Very clean, very friendly staff. We stopped in around lunch time. There were a bunch of different specials for apps and entrees being offered, written on a whiteboard. We ordered one of the special apps which was crispy shrimp served with a sweet chili sauce. This came out with 8 large crispy shrimp wrapped in rice paper and they were delicious on their own, but dipped in the chili sauce was even better. We also ordered two entree pasta dishes which each came with their own salad, in addition to bread for the table. The entrees were HUGE. Honestly, there must've have been an entire box of pasta in each dish. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 is because for the first time ever I think my dish was too big. We revisited the Log Cabin with friends and we had a great lunch. They always serve a very crisp, cold salad with a great dressing....and a big bowl of zitis which I approve of the sauce (I make my own from scratch). It's very good. I usually order fish - actually always. The stuffed shrimp are good, the wine is excellent and the service is friendly. The soups are also delicious. You won't go away hungry, for sure. Had a nice dinner here today. It was pretty crowded and luckily our friend was there ahead and was able to get our table few minutes before we arrived. They have great choices in the menu. We skipped the apps and went straight for the entrées. I had baked scrod topped with crumbled crackers. Delicious! My friend had baked (bay) scallops. Son and another friend ordered chicken gorgonzola. Stephanie was our waitress and she's was pretty attentive to our needs. They give you big portions, and we were satisfied with our meals. If you want lots of good food, this is the place! The servings are huge! I had no idea that they would serve rigatoni as a starter. If I had, I would not have ordered an appetizer (the hot appetizer which was very good btw). And there was salad. The Gorgonzola dressing...yum. This restaurant was a very pleasant surprise. I started with a shrimp cocktail and was excited to see it had 15 shrimp on it . They were not jumbo shrimp, but a very respectable large or even x-large size. They were very fresh and served with a zippy cocktail sauce. Next came a fried shrimp platter. TWENTY SEVEN shrimp. Again not jumbo, but plenty big enough and I could not finish them. They served them with excellent french fries, both piping hot and perfectly crisp, not greasy at all. The portions are generous and prior to the main course you are given a large bowl of pasta to share amongst the table. For an entree I usually order seafood and it's always fresh and tasty. The inside is quite clean, airy, and tastefully decorated. The building itself appears to be an authentic log cabin design, not a pseudo looking one. She ordered the prime rib salad and it was loaded with cubes of prime rib trimmed so there was no fat or gristle, it came with a huge scoop of crumbled Gorgonzola cheese, sliced black olives, croutons and all the greens that you expect on a quality salad. It also came with a side of Au Jus and a salad dressing as well. I ordered a full rack of ribs and being that I am carb conscious asked that they not have sauce added and that was not a problem. The ribs were seasoned well and they came with two sides. I asked for the house vegetable which was fresh picked string beans just slightly cooked until barely tender. And a freshly made coleslaw. It also came with a house salad. They brought me vinegar and oil for the salad and the oil was a very high-quality delicious olive oil along with a red wine vinegar. Waters poured automatically all around (plus in my book). The waitress never told us it was family style size portions and looking at the prices I was taken aback, they seemed pricey. We ordered an app of bruschetta which was served in a massive bowl and would have fed at least 6 people fresh garlicky tomatoes with fresh mozz balls on top of garlic bread slices. They also brought warm crusty bread to the table with butter. Then dinner arrived again a massive bowl of ziti in sauce served to al dente perfection, very tasty sauce too. And then a mountain of eggplant parm on a separate plate to go with the ziti. My dinner of cavatelle with broccoli in alfredo sauce in another massive bowl, and our daughters (thank god) split a dinner of fettuccine alfredo which was thin and wide (perhaps homemade?) and both were heavenly. Our waitress was lovely and dutifully wrapped and labeled all of our leftovers of which could feed a small starving nation no doubt.
