The chicken soup and chicken parm was 10/10! Amazing service and a great dining room with a patio! My server Becca was so attentive and knowledgeable. Can't wait to be back soon read more

Some of the BEST pasta we have ever had. We both ate everything, and took nothing home. We started off with bread, and side Cesar salads while we waited for the fried calamari. The bread and the salads were amazing! The fried calamari was absolutely incredible, and cooked to perfection. Not chewy and overcooked! Then came the pastas! My 3 year old got the kids portioned cheese ravioli in red sauce, and ate her entire plate! The chefs special, and linguine in clam sauce was just amazing. The service was very welcoming, lots of smiles and great vibes! The place is beautiful! We loved it, and had a wonderful time even with a toddler. Thank you to the servers who served us, and chefs kiss to the chef! We will be back read more

Outstanding food; very good and attentive service. Relaxing vibes on the porch. And portions are large; prices are fair for a summer dinner in a Beach town. We'll be back Had the mushrooms stuffed with Crab as an appetizer. Eggplant Rolatinni (shared) as an Entree with a side of Meatballs. More than enough for 2 adults and no grief about sharing. Chose nice Cabernet from a good wine list read more

The chef's prepared/plated another excellent meal, served by the lovely waitress Ruby with a twist of sweet love for us on our anniversary dinner. Enjoying ourselves immensely we didn't realize that 2 1/2 hours passed by before the cheque was dropped and paid. We were never asked to leave our comfy place in Sammy's. Even Sam visited the table stating "Stay as long as you like." In this atmosphere of genuine and caring hospitality we could have stayed except for our plans to dance the night away down the road was calling. However, we knew that we would be back several times before summer's end. With all the listed items and specials of the night we'll never have to have the same diner twice with the exception of their swordfish with either creamy risotto with a lemony caper butter sauce or on a bed of their famous mashed potatoes knowing for sure each/any choice will all be over the top. Many thanks J&J deliciously fantastic. read more

I walked in and there was someone to greet me, I told her I was here for happy hour and she was very gracious. Their bar has a great selection. Who really stands out is their bartender Nolan. He makes the drinks professionally and they are the exact same taste every time I come in, It gets busy in the bar and he handles it extremely well, everyone gets taken care of. I've tried many foods off the menus all delicious. Their seafood, Italian dishes are excellent. Priced more than fair. read more

I went to Sammy's restaurant yesterday. I had previously been to that location when it was a different restaurant. We were passing by, I saw there is now an Italian place and we decided to stop in. I thought the restaurant was very beautifully decorated and very clean! Staff were very attentive. My meal was delicious, my husband enjoyed his too. Although he thought the sauce was a little bland in his opinion, I tried it and thought it was sweet but good. I do plan on coming back. I would also have a party there. read more

Great food and service. Never had a bad meal. Recommend highly! Very clean. The owner makes his presence and is very friendly.

It's a beautiful Sunday and we were driving along the shoreline. We spotted Sammy's and decided to give it a try. Nice sized menu with lots of options. You don't see Beef Stroganoff on a menu very often so we both ordered it. So glad we did, it was delicious ! Came with salad and bread. The bread had a bowl of pimentos and green olives that you could add to your salad if you wish. The salad was so fresh and the cucumbers looked so fancy the way they were sliced. I wish the salad plate was a bit larger (the salad was fine just a bit difficult to navigate). We sat outside on their spacious front porch which was perfect as was the weather. Will definitely return because I want to try the French onion soup and other menu options. read more

This past Sunday my son and daughter in law got married at the Water's Edge. My husband and I hosted a dinner at Sammy's Saturday night for the out of town guests. We are from NJ and did an internet search and that's how we found Sammy's. We were approximately 65 people, the largest pre-wedding party Sammy's had done. They could not have been more accommodating. We had the bar, 2 rooms and the patio. The food was delicious and plentiful, the service great. They packed up the left overs which we are still eating!! I would highly recommend Sammy's and if I am ever back in Westbrook works definitely go there again for dinner. read more

The food was good. Chicken Francese sauce was good, chicken well cooked. Sauce for spaghetti and meatballs was a nice marinara. Side salad was boring, old school, dressing was very acidic, not restaurant made. Need to make salad dressings in house to have better control over food costs and flavors. Slow night, a good time for staff to get up to speed on menu and wine offerings. read more

We were looking to try a new restaurant in town and had heard great things about Sammy's. Unfortunately, our experience was not all positive. I have a task trained service dog, and we were denied access to the dining area inside the restaurant due to "allergies". My dog was fully vested and clearly marked as a service animal. I politely explained that my dog is a service animal and access is required by ADA and federal law and that, by these laws as well, allergies and/or fear of dogs are not a reason to deny access or services, to which who I presumed to be the restaurant owner responded that he "could not have us inside" and we "had to be seated outside". The service by the staff was great, Maggy and another older gentleman who I did not get the name of were very kind, as well as very understanding and mindful of my dog. The same man who denied us from being seated inside then brought another party out to the patio and proceeded to tell them my dog is very friendly, encouraging them to try to interact with him (talking to him, staring, making kissy noises), which can be incredibly harmful to handlers should they have a medical episode and their dog is distracted. I suggest this business become familiar with service animal public access laws and equal treatment of those with service animals. Taken directly from the ADA website: "Allergies and fear of dogs are not valid reasons for denying access or refusing service to people using service animals," and "EXAMPLE: A restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating. A woman arrives at the restaurant with her service dog and asks to sit inside. The restaurant cannot require the woman to dine outside because of her service dog." The ADA website on service animals: https://www.ada.gov/resources/service-animals-2010-requirements/ They also have deleted my reviews on other platforms. read more

Great food! Fast service and a great menu to pick from. It's almost too good, we all had the hardest time deciding what to get because everything sounded so good! The restaurant was extremely warm inside. But the staff allowed us to open up a window to help with airflow & it quickly helped the atmosphere and made the environment a lot more pleasant. read more

All I wanted was a good calamari for Father's Day dinner. I searched on Yelp, and settled on Sammy's. It seemed like a nice place, kind of upscale, local, and had calamari. We just stopped in, with no reservation, and were seated right away. I noticed quickly how hot it was inside, and wished we sat outside. It was hot, and humid inside with no airflow. The staff looked hot and miserable. Our waiter was an older guy. He was decent at first, but forgetful, then became nonexistent. He made bold claims about the food, saying this and that was the best around. I ordered a mixed drink for Father's Day, that was forgotten, and showed up by another waitress like ten minutes after my table had their drinks. When the salads came, he had the wrong dressing. The calamari was pretty good, was not rubbery, and had a big portion. I couldn't figure out what the white sauce was it came with. My wife ordered the baked stuffed shrimp. She was laughing when it came out, because it looked like three big dry muffins were put on top of three small shrimp. The stuffing was dry, and required most of the butter supplied to moisten it up. The much anticipated and hyped roasted potatoes were old and chewy, and had way too much garlic powder on them. I ordered the eggplant rollatini florentine special. The plating was a big splat of sauce and cheese, with nothing recognizable. The marinara was very sweet. There was no texture to the meal, and would be perfect for a toothless dinner. My son's burger was burnt, but the fries were good, an excellent redeeming factor. Yeah right! Our waiter disappeared after the food came, never asked if we wanted another drink. It took about 10-15 of waiting for him to come get the check. I went outside and waited, because it was so hot inside. When I went outside, I realized we should have eaten outside, because it was nicer outside than inside. read more
