The Loft has a very cool space that I had been wanting to revisit since COVID hit. Their patio is perfect for social distancing without feeling like you are in a pandemic. A bit escapist. The vibe is very trendy with dark furnishings, uplit bamboo, and a soundtrack to match. It is a bit pricey for the quality of food I've had there in the past, but their cocktails are on point. Loved the "Loft 75" and the Sidecar on this trip. The cheesecake was regrettable. Pretty flavorless and the topping tasted like a chocolate pudding cup. They were very accommodating, but they told someone near us that they ran out of steak knives? That was a bit odd. Overall, it was fun and I'd go back for a Happy Hour or appetizers and a drink. read more

Food here has always just been a big MEH. I get dragged here every so often after work (I am always outvoted when I do). Everything I've ever gotten has either been fine or subpar. Order some fries? You get the little nubs (akin to In N Out but not in a good way). Portions are small, prices are big - just how it is. Happy hour here is tricky. If you sit in the actual Loft, the physical namesake of this place, happy hour prices are not applicable. What is that? I think I will open up a restaurant called 'Ocean Patio' and everyone who sits on the patio outside is not eligible for happy hour. Regardless, the only reason I give this place three stars is the service. They are great, super nice and always fun to chat with! read more

While visiting from New York City, wandering around the very charming downtown area of Edmonds, Washington, I stumbled upon The Loft, thinking it would be a nice spot for a glass of wine. To economize my review, I'll just say this...what a great dining and drinking experience! I was welcomed in with a great selection of wines. Having a lot of time to kill, I chose a bottle of the Megan Anne Willamette Valley Pinot...what a treat! Now hungry, I ordered the Cedar Planked King Salmon, with asparagus and mashed potatoes, with a side of bread. Two foods I have found that are often misprepared....salmon and asparagus. But, not at the Loft....both were perfectly prepared with an incredible Burre Blanc and capers sauce. Perhaps the best salmon and asparagus in my 56 years! And the bread? Best I've had in years...certainly on the West Coast. My server was a charming and very knowledgeable young lady named Brooke who seemed almost more like a new friend than a helpful server! I also had the pleasure of meeting the proprietor, Niko, who was a warm and welcoming host...with great stories and entertaining banter with his staff in English as well as his native Greek. I didn't know what they were talking about...but it was hilarious to watch! I've spent over thirty five years wandering around towns and cities all over the world looking for great little places like the Loft. Great food, excellent drink selection, incredible service and a lot of fun! read more

Service was okay tonight! Knowing The Loft has had some issues with slow service in recent months, my girlfriend and I went to dinner there tonight to give it another shot. It was fairly empty. Just four tables on the back patio including us. Service was solid...like a B+. Food was great. Shrimp ravioli type dish and bruschetta were really good, and zucchini fritters were pretty good. I've been here a few times to celebrate my friends' birthdays. I've eaten at the top of the loft twice and at the courtyard twice as well. The top of the loft which is up the stairs is very intimate and it has a candle light setting. Mind you this place is very small so if it gets busy, it's a tight fit trying to walk past people's table. The courtyard is nice because they have plants out there and string lights. They also have outdoor heating lamps to keep you warm. My most recent time coming here we were with a big group and I think the server was overwhelmed with how many people there were. The server paid more attention to the other table in our group so he was really slow getting our drinks, filling our water, and getting our food. It's understandable since we're in a big group, but he seemed to neglect our side. I'd suggest that if they have that size of a party that they have an additional server to help out. When the food and drinks finally came they were amazing! I got the Kobe beef burger and truffle fries. Such a juicy burger and the fries were shoestring fries that were so crunchy and golden with the truffle sauce, cheese and all the yummy-goodness that they add on there. I might want to come here again when they're not super busy and with a smaller group. read more

Came here for happy hour. I loved that they had a variety of different dishes. The price was reasonable. It was a sunny day and we sat in the back which was really cute- there was no sun that shined through but it still feels like outdoors? We ordered the wings, Kobe sliders, truffle fries and shrimp. Everything tasted good- but out of all of them I would recommend the Kobe sliders. I was a little disappointed that the pork belly wasn't available until 5. Hubby and I came for a quick bite this past weekend. Even arriving at 4:30 it was already hopping! We didn't mind waiting it was just cold the servers were kind and soon as a table cleared by a solo heater we were told we could go stand by that heater. Thank you! I had the fish and chips- y'all their house made tartar sauce is even better than their garlic aioli and I've been obsessed with their aioli for years! So so good! I had a virgin mojito cuz I'm pregnant and boy was it good! Hubby had the burger and the new old fashioned- he looooved his cocktail! Love the Loft!! It's very small, so beware, it's not best for big groups. However, if there are enough open tables, the staff is more than willing to accommodate. The food tries to be very trendy and at times succeeds impeccably, other times, not so much. Overall, it's a gem in the tiny city of Edmonds. The dishes can all be considered "small plates," and while they are great value, the drinks are on the steep side, and can really rack up your bill. At my last visit I sampled the seared ahi, which is a bargain at $9. It was seriously perfect and delicious. On top of it tasting amazing, the presentation was really beautiful. The rib-eye was delicious an perfectly cooked. t was accompanied by what I would describe as a hash of caramelized onion, sweet potato, and mushroom. It was a pretty good value at $20, as the steak was a nice size. I would also recommend the Tyropitakia (phyllo cheese triangles) served up warm crispy. The crab cakes are a real knock out. They are served with a fennel citrus butter that is truly divine. The bruschetta is mouthwatering and full of flavor with melted brie, caramelized onions, and topped with pesto. The Zucchini Frito (breaded fried rounds of zucchini) with goat cheese and pesto is flavorful but on the small side. The first dish that I really ran into a problem with was the mascarpone ravioli. While all the components of the dish were truly delicious, the ravioli itself was not homemade, easily detected by it's chewy quality typically found in store-bought, frozen ravioli. I was also not overly impressed with the calamari, served with more of a scant green puree design on the bottom of the plate, rather than something that serves as a tasty sauce to dip the pieces of squid in. My last recommendation for the Loft, which I proclaim IS A MUST, is the Loft chocolate cake. Heaven I tell you, heaven! The cake is small and dense and topped with coffee flavored mascarpone frosting. The plate has pistachio crumbles and a coffee liqueur type reduction to smear the bites of cake in. Oh and on top of that mascarpone is a little tower of caramelized sugar threads, that when broken into little pieces and eaten with each bite, seriously make it over the top divine. Now because this place is so small, and cramped, service seems to suffer a bit for it. At times it takes a bit too long to get drinks or orders, but not long enough for me to be agitated by it. Our last dining experience there was a bit spendy, but right before we bounced the owner sent up complimentary loft shots for our whole table! Without a doubt one of the finest things there is about dining in Edmonds. I had always heard good things, and even parked here a couple times with the intention of seeing what was on offer. This week, I finally made good on all those years of good intentions. Guess what? The place is great, and probably has been the whole time. And here I am just a few miles away, wishing there were more good places to eat up north here. Gotta get in the habit of following through on stuff like this. It's a particularly nice spot when the weather's clement, because it boasts a good sized back patio. There's a roof, there's nice casual furniture, there's a bar. There's even a flat screen. The service is pleasant in a fairly workmanlike way; they do their job and they keep things moving along, unobtrusively and efficiently. The beer list is meaningless; the wine list tries a bit harder and the cocktails seem to be making a good showing. The food is quite nice--great cheese plate and tasty rabbit. Rather underwhelming tiramisu, though to its credit it did arrive with an artfully sliced strawberry on top, making it look kind of like a fruited-up miniature Sydney Opera House. Overall, a reasonably priced and completely satisfying restaurant with a pretty fantastic setting. Definitely be back. read more

We don't make it out Edmonds much however the Loft could be a reason we do more often. It doesn't seem like it from outside however this place has a really cool vibe and a lot to offer if you are in need of a place to lounge and enjoy some good food and drinks. The space inside is pretty cozy however they do have seating upstairs and in the back courtyard which I highly recommend if it's not too crowded. They have table top fire pits and a really cool ambiance in the courtyard. Try the truffle fries here and herb wings as well as the gnocchi and Kobe burger! All the food we sampled was amazing. For drinks the peach Bellini seems to be hit, I had a Paloma which was great as well. Be sure to walk around from here there are a lot of other places to shop and eat as well as a museum nearby to check out and the water front is not too far from here as well. You may need to drive around a bit to find parking. We did not see a designated lot however there is parking nearby the museum which is free on Saturday after 5pm. read more

He let us sample some wine before committing to a full glass and was extremely accommodating and friendly. Once our entire party arrived, we were seated upstairs. We had reservations in place but unfortunately the waitress didn't get the right number of seats for us. Long story short, the main waitress was pretty rude and made us feel like we were a nuisance. She huffed and puffed trying to accommodate a group of 4 girls. We weren't allowed to order from happy hour menu and had to close out our tab downstairs before going to our table. Mind you, this place has like 10 tables.... anyways, great drinks, awesome bartender, food is decent, waitress (the main one, you know who you are) was rude and I'd rather not see her again. This small place in downtown Edmonds is definitely one place you will want to stop by for a drink or dinner with friends or family. The restaurant is located along Main Street in downtown Edmonds with a few tables inside and more outside. Dining outside seemed very casual as there was an outdoor bar, fireplace, etc almost like a backyard type of feel. The restaurant has a few selections of large plates from Salmon, Spaghetti Primavera, and a Kobe burger to smaller plates like fish and chips, salad, sliders, etc so everyone in your party can find something to eat. I would recommend getting a larger plate if you plan on eating by yourself or a few smaller plates if you plan to share with your table. I ordered the Kobe Burger and it was very flavorful and juicy, especially the caramelized onions that were inside the burger, supplemented with a good amount of truffle fries. I wouldn't mind coming back to this quaint restaurant if I was in the downtown Edmonds area. The servers were friendly, the restaurant has a more intimate feel, and if it's summertime, a table outside makes the experience at this restaurant even better. You can make a reservation to this place on OpenTable. Otherwise I can imagine this place being popular during the weekend so plan ahead! read more

I've lived in Edmonds my entire life and have been to the Loft many times but not in a couple of years. We went there because they have a deck and we wanted to enjoy the sunshine with our meal. This was 6pm on a Tuesday and there was only a couple of people sitting inside the bar. We headed to the deck and the smaller tables were in the shade so we sat at one of the larger ones in the sun. They waitress came out and rudely informed us that we couldn't sit there because that was for larger parties. I told her we wanted to sit in the sun. She then grilled us whether or not we planned to eat there. We said yes, but what if we didn't want to eat and we're just there for drinks? Do we have to pass some sort of test before we get to sit where we want? There was no one out there besides us and she reluctantly agreed to let us sit there. I told her if some big parties came in we would move. She was so rude. After looking at the menu I asked her if a particular dish was good. She snapped at me and said everything was good there. We ordered a beet salad and clams to start but they were out of clams. Nothing really stood out on the menu but we both decided to order fish tacos. They were not good. They were extremely dry, I had ordered a second drink but didn't finish it because we just wanted to get out of there, we will not be back based on how we were treated and the food. read more

Went here on a friday night and had a delicious dinner! Funny thing was I had the opposite of most of the reviews. Our dinner and service seemed almost too rushed. Like they were trying to get us out of there so they could seat the next table. It was good though and the food did seem to slow once we mentioned something. I came here quite early, thus I didn't have any problems with it being "crowded". As with many reviews, I would see why this is a problem. The Loft is quite a small place and the entrance and walkways are poorly designed. Although this was a problem for many, I, personally, didn't have a problem with it at all. This placewas is incredibly small, so I would come early to get a table or make a reservations. It was about 6pm and as I came by myself, I sat at the bar. The bartender, Gabriella was super sweet and attentive. She gave me a food and drink menu right off the bat. Unfortunately, she gave me the old menu, but she apologized and gave me the new one. I eventually just ordered the cedar planked king salmon with wild rice and a coconut mojito. The coconut mojito wasn't as "coconutty" as I would like it, but it was still a good mojito. The salmon was MUCH better than I expected it to be! Perfectly medium rare! I found the wild rice to be a tad too salty, but with a bite of salmon, it was great! That peppercorn sauce totally added something to the blanched asparagus. Just a great dish in my books. Later, I ordered a B52 from Gabriella. I must say, this was one of the best B52 I have had in a LONG LONG time! If you are ever interested in a B52 ask Gabriella to make you one! (Espresso, Kahlua, Grand Marnier, and Baileys - just the way I LOVE it). Service was kind of slow after Gabriella left. Everyone seems to know one another as Edmonds is a small town. Overall, The Loft was your average price lounge and good food! Best part of The Loft in my opinion is definitely the great volume adjusting of the music. It was loud enough to hear it, but not too loud where you have to scream on top of each other to have a decent conversation. S-l-l-o-w-w service, but friendly. My love gun and me decided to try The Loft out. We were sat up stairs in the "loft", it is a TIGHT squeeze in this place. Which makes me insecure and uncomfortable but once I was seated it was okay. And I stayed seated out of fear of dragging a table with me or knocking over someones drink. We both loved the two small plates we ordered, I highly recommend both. The calamari was perfectly breaded and had a kick to it (make sure to order extra sauce). The oven roasted zucchini was amazing- it was stuffed with mascarpone + cream cheese, fennel garlic breadcrumbs, browned Grana Padano. I was in l.o.v.e with it. The drinks were decent...we both were fascinated that you have an option to order your martini with a shaker (double the martini with a $1 off). My boyfriend really liked his Mojito. This place was packed with Cougars and Trouts past 9pm... so my boyfriend and I will most likely sit outside next time or come before 9pm. It just got kinda... creepy? Seriously loud and tipsy older women *trying to belly dance to Lady Gaga for the younger men. And again, it was a tight squeeze. You literally have push your body up against people to get to your table. 3.5 stars overall. read more

10/10 experience. From the food, to the music, to the atmosphere....everything was great. Shout out to Kayla for the top notch service! We came in for the first time on a Friday night to check the place out. It was the start of Memorial Day weekend so it was expectedly slow. But we were in a low key kind of mood anyway. Ordered 2 beers, 2 bourbons, the Penn Cove Muscles, beet salad, sliders, Brussels sprouts, and chicken Souvlaki. Total bill came out to $77.89...not bad! Much of the food we ordered was on the happy hour menu. The atmosphere is very relaxing and comfortable. Easy to spend some time here and make it feel like "your place". The music was an upbeat, chill house mix that felt young and fun but not too overpowering. Kayla waited on us and had a great attitude. The rest of the staff was friendly too. Me and two friends went to the Loft last Saturday for happy hour. We made reservations for 4:00 since happy hour was from 3-6 that day. We got there a little before 4 and it was empty and the host said sorry the chef is missing but they could show up any time. We thought that was odd but asked if we could just start with drinks and maybe the chef would show up? They did just a few minutes later so we ordered food and drinks off the happy hour menu. The restaurant is very small and cozy and there weren't many other people there. At 5:50 we were the only people there and we had paid our bill but were just chatting and the server said "I actually have a 6:00 reservation coming in..." so we figured that was our queue to leave so we did. We thought it was odd she said that when we were literally the only people there. We all paid on my friends credit card and figured we'd pay her back later. Once she went to Venmo charge us a couple days later she realized that we'd been charged full price for the drinks. I called and left a voicemail for the restaurant and never heard back. Not sure I'll go back again. Plus I felt nauseous from the food later. read more

Service was terrible and painfully slow - we made a reservation online - waitress (sey- something) was rude - continued to harass us for not ordering dinner as they don't take reservations unless for dinner - (side note - no where on the third party reservation site does it state that you can only make reservations for dinner ) so please correct that and if you don't please don't harass paying customers. Overall a bad experience and won't be back - recommend you make some changes or do some training with your staff. read more
