Seems like a cool enough place and nice service for a drink. Food was abysmal. Clearly just thrown together by the 20 something who's the bus boy / burger burner who doesn't really know anything about cooking or thinks all food is just subsistence or something. I've never had chicken wings so dry and overcooked. Burger was scarred black and probably cooked to 200 degrees. Didn't even eat the meat. I come here regularly as this is conveniently located between my house and a friend's house. They usually have drink specials going and it tends to have more people present than some of the other bars in the area. The parking lot can get full and feel pretty tight which can be annoying, but if you have to there is always neighborhood street parking. We recently went on karaoke night and it was a lot of fun. I was surprised to see how many people were still out on a Thursday after midnight. They have pool, darts, pull tabs, video games, and other things here as well. I also like that they serve food late in to the evening. Not much on the menu appeals to me, but I have enjoyed the tots on multiple occasions. My friends gobbled down their chicken strips and fries. Servings here seem really large. I am excited to learn they have a new Sunday morning breakfast menu. I might have to check this out sometime soon. read more

This review is for the food. This was only my third visit. Seems like the food has been downgraded to pretty substandard pub fare. Idk what happened. The breaded chicken breast on the sandwich is now a breaded formed Tyson-esque patty or something. The burger was scant... it was like every ingredient got downgraded... Fries, too, which was a major disappointment. Previously, they had some of the best fries to be had in the area. I'm a bit embarrassed that I've been raving about this place since I tried it 6 mos ago, and people I've sent here may have experienced this type of mediocrity. One thing didn't change, though, and that's the price. One star is a bit dramatic because I'm hoping the owners will notice this. I dig a lot about this place, and the food was prepared expertly, for what it was. The bartender (they have *killer* staff here btw so they must be doing something right...) mentioned that sometimes their menu items change based on availability of ingredients. Please, guys... Don't do that. Maybe temporarily take the item off the menu until it's back in stock. All that said, it's a great sports bar in a nice facility in a cool little strip mall with a few other local gems. It has a good community feel. They've made some changes and upgrades to MVP's since our first visit not-to-long-ago! Newer dart boards, they've begun beer pong tourneys, upgraded the jute box and are doing a menu revamp beginning tomorrow (5/12/14) Our most recent outing this weekend for trivia, WH and I arrived early enough to get a choice booth (note, they removed one booth completely and replaced one with a table in the addition of the dart boards and other changes.) We added more exploration of the food menu to our adventures and shenanigans this time around. The Board President of my favorite property whom I have the worst crush on ever sent me coupons he found in ValPak for here, so we cashed in the burger special (buy one get one free) tonight. Holy Christ. WTF is with this place? Everything they have on the menu is already great but these burgers, are you kidding me? SOOOOO juicy, thick, perfectly done and well topped without being ridiculous. WH went with the Bacon Bleu and I had the Mushroom Swiss. Love this place, it is so much fun! So I started coming here when it was under different management, as a friend of mine (who doesn't even drink!) was unemployed at the time and they had a super cheap lunch deal for burgers, and he'd hang out and work on his resume/portfolio/etc using their WiFi. I think they may still have that cheap lunch deal, but since I don't eat burgers I haven't really paid attention to that. Since new management has taken over, they've made a ton of improvements to the place and it seems to be a lot more popular than it ever was before. Do you remember that cute little dive bar in Lynnwood that was called Mondo's that got shut down because they demolished the entire plaza that it was built in? Well a lot of the staff from MVP's are from Mondo's since it's the same owner. Used to love Mondo's with it's cute theme/decor, fun bingo nights, and yummy cocktails. I had noticed that some of the staff seemed familiar to me, no wonder! As for MVP's, they always have a list of yummy sounding cocktails (haven't tried them yet, but one when I'm not watching calories, I think I will indulge), the staff are all fun and friendly, and most of the people who frequent this bar seem to know each other. They have a dart league, karaoke night, and a pool table. Food is ok, hey it's bar food, what can you expect? But food prices are pretty reasonable. Want a jello shot? Yes, they've got them. Pretty good selection of "call liquors", although they'd make my day if they got "Raspberry Bacardi" or "Raspberry Cruzan". On game days, this place is jam packed (thank goodness it's a pretty big bar!). Also if you are into beer pong, this is one of the few bars that has it. And they have a juke box. Bathrooms are large, well stocked, and clean (yay! girls you know what I'm talking about). I wish this bar did Bingo. I know my friend & I used to go to Bingo at Mondo's and most recently we were doing "naughty bingo" at Sound Check until they closed, but I think that would be super fun. Don't order food here. If you do, expect reheated frozen food that needs a lot of condiments to be palatable. The service is atrocious; there aren't nearly enough people working here to take care of their guests. The dining room is dirty and the seats are stained. The only reason this place gets two stars instead of one is because of all the games and TVs. In addition to the ones scattered around the dining room, each table has its own television with video game consoles to play. There are dart boards to play, too. The thing that got us here was the video game consoles in the booths with free play on all the games. I liked how the booth was out of the way and I felt like it was pretty private which was good considering there weren't a ton of people there and it was dead quiet. The bartender/cook dude was super friendly and easy to talk to. I could tell he wanted to make sure we were having a good time. The food is bar food but probably the best I've ever had. Good variety of food too--They even have lumpia for all you Filipino food lovers out there! MVPs also has trivia on Saturday and karaoke most nights which basically makes it a grown up fun house. The couches were a little grimey but I didn't expect much more. It is a bar after all! I'm sure they'll upgrade once business starts rolling. They do have a spattering of leather video game chairs if that makes things any better. My only complaint would be the lack of background noise. Would've been nice to having the tv volume on or music in the background so that I didn't feel like everyone was listening to me. I was asked to remove my previous review since the change in ownership, I figured I'll revisit and update, about the same thing. Ordered the mvp burger jr. with tots, I got fries, burger was pan fried with flavorless bacon, yet very fresh veggies. Fries were your standard frozen run of the mill, habanero sauce tasted like thousand island as it was no spicy. Only reason for me to add a star was the service seemed a little better, no I don't plan on a return visit. You should be asked how you would like your burger cooked for $12, that burger should be cooked with fire, and leave you with a desire to return for another. read more

I guess it used to be a gamer bar and they still have some game consoles and screens around the edges but it's pretty much a straight ahead sports bar now. Classic rock playing. Weak tap selection, however the bartender told me they were replacing a cooler and they would normally have more. Tiny parking lot and I guess the Hispanic store next door has claimed a few of the spots only for their store and I was advised they are aggressive about towing. Be warned. read more

My GF and I wanted to try something new. we have driven by this place many times. I checked it out on here and was intrigued by the happy hour specials and the fried bacon. We went on a Wednesday night, it was pretty slow in there. We took a seat in a booth so I could watch a hockey game. After sitting there for five minutes without any acknowledgement that we were there I got up to order some beer from the bar where there was no bartender to be seen. At that time another patron (regular) told the guy in the kitchen we were there. He finally came over a few minutes later, so we ordered our beer and food. I wanted to start with the fried bacon and my GF ordered the wings, like she does almost everywhere we go. Expecting to enjoy our beers like at any normal well run bar while you wait for your food. Five minutes and no beer. I go to ask for our drinks from the dude in the kitchen. I can see he already poured our beer and they were just sitting on the counter. I asked him if we could get our beers. He said sure just a minute. He finally brought our food then our beer. I felt a little bad because he was all by himself, but you still should ALWAYS serve your drinks first. I asked him if he was getting any help coming in. He was proud to say he runs this place as if he doesn't need help. Guess what Jeremiah(owner), your service sucks. You can't run a bar and cook at the same time . So we were there for at least twenty minutes before we finally got a sip of beer. The food was disgusting. the bacon was soggy and tasted like frying oil with no flavor of bacon. The wings were horribly dry. We both had the same thought of the scene in Christmas Vacation when the family is eating the turkey that was completely dried out(we had a nice laugh about it).
