Mesh, the bartender was so amazing, friendly and approachable. I came into this little place with a feeling of history. You see, my mom worked here for years in the 70's, 80's and early 90's. I loved that the bar is modernized just enough to make it comfy, but with enough of the old feel to make it feel as though my mom was still there. As my mom passed away several years ago, I walked in with tear-filled eyes and Meesh totally understood and even allowed me to play my mom's favorite song on the juke box. So, with Lyin Eyes on the awesome and modern jukebox and the neon booze signs on the walls, I could actually feel my mom in the room, telling her infamous dirty jokes. I shared this with everyone, and we all raised a glass in her honor. Tequila shots for my companions and a water shot for me! I love that they serve hard alcohol here, makes for a nice variety in drinks and patrons. Now, on this particular night, there were only 3 others in the bar (maybe 4), but it was a great atmosphere. The entire place is super clean with updated bathrooms with the doors I'm sure were there when the place was built. Now, I don't drink and have never really been a regular at a bar, but the welcoming environment and friendly Meesh, I am certain I'll be back again & again. Indoors is spacious with several tables scattered about. For entertainment, Player's offers pool tables, pool tabs, darts, fooseball and TV's. All day on Tuesday's, soft or crunchy beef tacos or carne asada street tacos with cilantro are $2 each. My wife had a couple pints of Bud Light for $4.75 each. I had a couple pints of Bodhi IPA for $5.75 each. Our beers were ice cold and filled to the rim. We each ordered one crunchy and one soft (fajita size) ground beef taco for $2 each. The tacos were stuffed with seasoned taco meat, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. Filling and tasty. Overall, Player's is a decent bar for the surrounding area. Due to the type of bar that this is, top-notch customer service shouldn't be expected. Have a seat and enjoy a cold brew while waiting on food orders. Witnessing the amount of people at lunch during the week, I can only assume this bar gets packed in the evenings and weekends. You seat your self (if there is a table open). On busy days, you just fight for a table. I wish they implemented some form of queue or paper on which party is next. The music can be too loud and, frankly, too much of one genre. I feel they are trying to ride a line between nightclub and pool hall, to attract younger clientele. This may be tough on players that need relative quiet to concentrate. All and all, a fun time. I cannot say that it is a "clean" hall, either figuratively or literally, but I can say that at least at this point in time, it's still approachable to those just looking for a drink and a nibble while shooting a game or two with friends, with minimum drama.
