The ambiance is casual and we were able seat immediately on a Saturday later afternoon. Our server was very friendly but seemed a bit overwhelmed (possibly on the newer side), and the "no tomato with tots" request on the Queen Anne Sandwich unfortunately was not honored. The tomato slices were easy to take off and the food tasted good overall. They have RC Cola which was a nice change, but the very limited dessert menu was a bit disappointing. The sundae is exactly as you'd expect, tasty but nothing stellar. Our server offered to check into what to do about the order mistake but then forgot to ask if we'd want a free dessert (or entree if we declined) until we asked about it after paying.

I couldn't even tell if it was because I was hungry or the food is really that good, but my Happy Hour Vera Cruz Tacos were seriously one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. The fish chunks were SO crispy and fresh and the creamy sauce and fresh onions were off the hook accompaniments. Pair that with my nonalcoholic Basil Ginger Spritz and this was an unexpectedly perfect and delicious little Happy Hour meal. My companion (my oldest child) enjoyed their Smash Burger and Grapefruit Pom Nom Paloma as well. The music was lively and at a good volume and the service from Andrew was great. Really really good experience that exceeded my admittedly limited expectations. But still , it's so much better to be pleasantly surprised than unexpectedly disappointed.

Time to celebrate St. Patrick's Day by dropping by McMenamins Pubs, Breweries & Historic Hotels at McMenamins Mill Creek for a quick bite and drink. We were impressed by their menu given they specifically detail their vegan and vegetarian options, the vegetarian represented by a small "v" and the vegan, by what looks to be a 5 leaf clover. We were also impressed by the variety of vegan options that are available. You can check out their menu here - https://d2660z551umiy9.cloudfront.net/.../Mill.../MCmenu.pdf If you're looking for something healthy, they have two options. The first is a "Higher Bowl" - rice, black beans, cabbage, tomato, avocado, cilantro & your choice of sauce. They actually have three sauces labeled as vegan: Higher Tahini, Mai Thai, and Current Coconut. The second healthy option is a salad - Six Arms Goddess romaine, cucumber, tomato, bell peppers, marinated onion, pita chips, Goddess dressing. For burgers, you can opt for their "Mystic Burger" (our item of choice) - Beyond Burger patty, Mystic 18 sauce, creamy original Chao slice . For a sandwich, you can order a Bean & Seed Gyro - vegan patties, hummus, tahini sauce. YUM, so much to come back for another time. Last, you can order a side of fries - McMenamins Fries. In addition to our tasty burger with perfectly melted cheese and a hearty Irish Stout, we were treated to a live performance of playing of the bagpipes, very inspiring and moving! Last but not least, if you go visit .. be sure to check out their Celtic March Cocktails. We wanted to keep things traditional tonight, thus the Irish Stout, but they do have non dairy options available for their cocktails so no doubt that would be worth exploring as well.

Dropped in a couple times as we were in the area. There is a lot of parking nearby. I wouldn't say the experience was anything too exciting. The staff was not bad and would serve us food and drink at appropriate times. Each time we visited it was not a busy time, but the staff did seems to keep busy prepping and checking in on the customers that were there. I do like that they had a decorated card for drinks specials that looked creative. We would visit again, but would not be a place we would go out of our way for based on our experiences.

It was a wonderful day to sit outside on the patio while we had some dinner. Service was great and the food had great flavor. I love this local spot.

Solid food with good service. If you come during happy hour, you'll need to order a drink (alcoholic or non) to be able to order food off of the HH menu. Tots were so good, definitely recommend that over fries. The fish in the tacos were crispy even with all the toppings/sauce on top.

This is usually my go to place for a casual lunch or dinner. Great for families. Sunny days the patio is nice. Service is a little slow but the food is always reliable and the staff is always the best. They've upped the menu to add a few more vegan options which is a huge win for me. Be patient as it's light staffing. My favorite is the vegan Mystic 18 burger and the bean and seed Gyros. Looking to try the higher bowls next.

Just ordered appetizers and beers. They were okay, server was nice. Kinda expensive but not off the charts. Beer was good, cold.

I decided to check out Peace of Mind Brewing after seeing some online Yelp & IG activity (2/6/26)…read more Straightforward drive up north on 99 from Shoreline and they have their own parking lot. They are also located along the Community Transit blue line. Note: this post is only for a cafe visit. Weekdays they are open 7am to 2pm. Weekends they are open 8am to 2pm. This is a great northend alternative to cramped, corporate cafes. This indie site feels vast, spacious, decent natural light, and I really like the overhead music. Great cafe location whether you are solo, small or large groups. Plenty of room with a variety of seating configurations. While I was onsite, there were three others with laptops (yes, there's WiFi) and several got their bevs to go. The brewpub has varied hours depending on the day. Screenshot I added listed brewpub as: Monday 4-9pm Tues-Thurs 2-9pm Friday 2-10pm Saturday noon to 10pm Sunday noon to 9pm Call, check their website or social media for the latest info. The brewpub has been in operation for 2.5 years, while the cafe concept started on 11/10/25, coming up on three months. The welcoming barista (one of the owners?) mentioned her extensive espresso experience. And yes, she crafted a really good 20oz mocha. I brought my mug from home and got a discount ($6.25 vs $6.50). Regardless this is a mega bargain vs close to ten bucks with tax & tip at most Seattle cafes for a smaller 16oz volume! Nice find - next time I'll bring reading or writing gear and hang out longer. PS At the entrance, door states No Cash Accepted. Just an fyi.

In short Great space, decent beers, friendly service. Prices…read moreare fine. Free pool, tons of flatscreens. It's a mellow dad bar and probably a fun place to watch the game. Killer food truck on site daily. In long We rolled in for a late lunch and almost had the place to ourselves for a while. Big room, high ceilings, lots of hardwoods in the construction, plus bare concrete floors. It filled in with maybe 20 people after a while and you can tell it'll get loud when it's full. We checked out 3 beers, a wine, and 2 seltzers. The beers are all drinkable; the wines and seltzers are kinda average as those things go. We relaxed and listened to music and watched the Audubon channel on one of the flatscreens. Lots of regulars seemed to know each other, and the barman was always happy to see everybody. Outside there's an amazing taco truck with a huge menu. You can order from your phone and pay when you go out to get it. The website says cash only, but they're really cash preferred. They do take cards. Whew! All in all a good hangout for a fun afternoon sneaking out of the house.

If you're looking for a bar with bar food and not very good drinks I have the place. Pretty plain…read morevibe and bar look to it, nothing special. I can say we were all pretty disappointed in this place. The staff was the only positive that we took away from this experience. Both servers that we encountered were both kind and attentive. The drinks and food however totally missed the marks. We all started off with drinks 2 margaritas, a gin gimlet and a beer between the four of us. The margaritas were terrible, like I am not sure how they put them as a feature drink. They had zero jalapeños and also offered no spicy margarita whatsoever. My wife's gin gimlet tasted like straight up lime juice. All were complete misses. Next we moved on to the food where each couple ordered a dozen wings. The X's and O's( fries and onion rings) and we also ordered a wedge salad. The wedge salad came out and idk how it was marketed as wedge when it was a bowl of salad completely engulfed in dressing(closer to soup than salad). Next the fries and onion rings came out and I'm not usually a stickler for what things cost, but $17 for like 6 onion rings and a very sad plate of fries. We expected a bit more for what we ordered for the table. Lastly the wings. While the flavoring of the wings were good, they came out not too warm to the touch and biting into them they were cold on the inside. Concerned that we may get sick from uncooked meat they assured us that they were precooked and just dropped into the fryer to finish them off. To me it is concerning that though they were precooked and still missed on hearing them all way, you may need to have a chat with your kitchen. Both of the servers were on top of it and ran both dozens back to have our order recooked. Second time around they were hot and crispy with good flavor(although the garlic boom boom wings were missing one of the sauces the second time around). It didn't matter, we ate them and paid. Not sure we will put this on our revisit list. Maybe the burgers or flatbread were the way to go, but out of 3 menu items and even the drinks.... There needs to be much more effort to everything here...

Went to have a beer there yesterday and it was a great experience. The beer had an amazing flavor…read more It was Creamsicle flavor. The service was great as well. The young lady working there was very friendly, polite and had a smile. Sat outside it was nice. It's dog friendly which I like. Visiting family on the island thought I would try the Thirsty Crab Brewery. I will be recommending this place. Definitely will be going back before I head home. Every time I visit family here on Whidbey Island I will be going there for beer. I was able to visit before heading home. I would recommend Thirsty Crab Brewery to anyone that likes beer.

Well I will say right off the bat if you are trying to get here by GPS it is extremely misleading…read more You can see the business from the main road but you can't turn into the parking lot there. You need to go straight through an intersection just before the brewery, turn on a dirt road and then it will take you to the parking lot. Hopefully directions have been fixed since then by somebody but if not be patient in getting there. My phones were exhausted and running on empty so alas no pictures were taken here unfortunately. We still needed some GPS navigation to get in a homebound direction. There were a lot of good looking beer options here so what we did was get a taster flight which was a wise choice. Some of the beers we had that made up that was a Key Lime Lager which was great. It tasted similar to the dessert and was easily my favorite. Alpenglow was another, also a lager that was pleasant and refreshing. We continued with the unique brews of a Nettle beer, a mango lager and the May Bee Lager. We also got an order of some of their brats from the food truck here. Those weren't too bad, perhaps not the most authentic I have ever came across but enjoyable nonetheless and pairs well with the beers that they have available here. Fun brewery to go to and one that should be stopped at if you are visiting the breweries, cideries, meaderies or wineries on Whidby Island.
