Burger & Fries
Jody B.

Cute little place. Service was friendly but not overly nice. The fries were good crispy and fresh. The cheeseburger was mediocre at best. The patty looked like it was out of a large burger patty packages from Costco. No flavor. Disappointed since this is a burger joint.

Burgers, shakes, and fries oh my. Happened to find this burger spot today during lunch. Usually I don't travel this far. Looking at the menu on the wall this is burger paradise. Burger western burger, chili burger, salmon fish and chips onion rings. I had a bbq pork sandwich and fries. Yes it was fantastic. It is take out only I believe you can eat at the counter outside

Z's is my favorite burger place in the Mukilteo area. I have been going here for years when I worked at Boeing and just stopped by last week for lunch with my daughter. I was disappointed to see they don't have their dining room open. It is essentially a storage area for them. I miss sitting among all the cool stuff they have decorating inside the restaurant. They have lots of airplanes hanging from the ceiling and now they have Coca Cola themed items everywhere. Very cool inside decorating. A collector's paradise! They told us we could sit at the counter area by the roll up door which was a decent compromise. I had the Flaming Burger which has Lettuce, tomato, avocado, grilled onions, cheddar cheese, flaming sauce and my daughter had the California Burger which has Lettuce, tomato, avocado, bacon, Swiss cheese, special sauce. We also shared an order of the fries which are always cooked fresh and perfectly. My Flaming Burger was very messy and it was at least a 10 napkin experience. I wasn't too big of a fan for this one but had to try it. My daughter thought the burger on hers tasted like it was previously frozen or something like that. Oh, by the way, burgers are a la carte so they seem cheap but that's all you get. Ordering fries is a must but are extra. I remember this place being better but it's been a while since I've come here so maybe my memory is playing tricks on me. Overall, I would return here for their basic burgers or the California Burger and the fries. Good but not great.

Burger and fries

It's a great little spot. The owners are a little curt but I mean it's worth it for some real food. The burger is amazing and the fries are top tier. Definitely get a milkshake too.

Burger mot fully cooked and the owner's we're rude

Literally wouldn't even give them a start if I could the service was bad burgers wasn't done we where rushed and it shows

I have been to Z Burgers 2 times. Burgers are good. Customer service is absolutely TERRIBLE! Will never spend my money there again!

The patties they use are definitely frozen. The fact they charge so much for frozen food is borderline scamming.

We had a MARVELOUS experience!…read more My bf, his mom and myself passed by this place on a couple of walks. I've also marked it as a place to visit. It is part of the Staybridge Suite hotels here and this hotel in general, is always packed! We finally know why! The hotel inside is beautiful -- woodwork and a cozy ambience! The 5 x 5 bar & bistro is new. What it was before was an old theater. Matthew was a one-man show with two ladies helping him with carrying the done orders to the tables. It was actually quiet on a Wednesday when we had went. Only 3 tables occupied. We missed happy hour and settled on the regular menu. I had the chicken tenders (4-pc) with lemon pepper seasoning (oh my -- this was delicious!) along with sweet potato waffle fries. I also got the hummus plate -- fresh veggies and the hummus had feta cheese and olive oil too, yummy! My bf had the pepperoni pizza with cheddar cheese and topped with green onions. I had a taste of it and it was pretty good! My bf's mom had the fish burger with a side salad. Matthew was so kind and made a mental note of the orders. He even remembered my bf's mom saying 'no cheese' and he doubled checked with her after looking at the fish burger. Real nice guy and his service with the ladies was warm and delightful! They're forming an events room hall that will be done soon that used to be a pool area (so yes, no swimming pool anymore). They also have a nice patio area with long chairs and a nice mini bar/grills in the middle. I also had a limoncello cooler and my bf's mom has red wine too. We'd come back again!

In short Great deals on great drinks, food is really solid,…read moreand the setting is nice and friendly. Only drawback is that the hours are limited. In long Lately we've been seeking out places that are literally quieter--less volume on the music, more space between the tables, and so on. I'd been wanting to check out 5x5, anyway, since it's the only spot around with an exactly perfect rating score. It looked like it'd fit the bill for a low-key place, and off we went. We came in shortly after they opened on a Saturday (4:00 PM). You're in a larger business-traveler hotel here, aimed at Boeing and Boeing-sub folks traveling for work. The building looks kinda generic from outside, but there's plenty of parking, and the lobby has a high-ceilinged atrium vibe for sure. Nice floor tiles, nice carpet, tasteful furniture. Everything's in perfect shape. You don't feel the lounge vibe right away, but there's a gigantic fireplace ahead of you, warming both sides of the room from the middle. Around that, there are lots of sturdy, shiny tables under the lofty ceilings. Off to the side, there's a little lounge area, then another one. Everything in the lounge is bar-height seating, and there are a few flatscreens, probably showing the game. Most folks are in here, sitting around the bar in the middle of the room. We posted up at a table just outside the lounge. Lindsey was behind the bar, and cheerfully answered every single question we had about food and all their cocktails. She's super friendly and makes a great drink for sure. She seems to have a bunch of regulars who aren't staying at the hotel, which is a great sign, no doubt. We checked out the warm pretzel--such a decadent treat. The waffle fries (and especially the aioli that came with them) were awesome. The pizza was a great choice; we added pickled onions to the Speedway. The crust could be a little crisper but we took home what we didn't finish and it's great here, too. Service on food and drinks was really quick. The cocktails here can be really creative, and there are lots of classics with house twists on the recipe. They even have a pisco sour they've tweaked--that's a fair bit of work for a bartender to make mid-shift. We got 5 great drinks and 3 nice plates of food for $96, and I don't think we even ordered anything from the HH menu. This is a very easy place to add to the rotation.

We spent literally an hour and a half there lol. Food: the food was actually pretty banging. I appreciate quality food rather than massive portions, and this place did deliver. The Brussels were phenomenal. Steelhead was very tasty. Chicken dinner was also good. Seafood pasta was pretty good. We all got desserts as well and those were all delish too. The cost was pretty steep if I'm being honest. I'd go back but only on very special occasions. And when I have a crazy amount of time to eat dinner haha.

My wife wanted a lighter breakfast so went with the continental breakfast which came with eggs to order, banana bread, and fruit. The huevos rancheros was very tasty! It's definitely something that I would order again, although I would still like to try the avocado toast as well. At many other tables, I could see traditional breakfast fare such as french toast or pancakes that also looked tasty. My wife gave me a taste of the banana bread and it was delicious! Thick cut like texas toast, and much less dense than homemade banana bread that I am used to. Alas, the server said they might discontinue it, and that they didn't have a recipe but probably ordered it. Shame, now I must find this delicious banana bread! Food was definitely better this time around. I opted with the seafood salad, which was what it sounded like. The one thing that stood out to me were the smoked scallops, which I could have just ate a whole plate of. There was a fair amount of seafood amongst the plate. Tip: Mondays are half price bottled wine, which was probably the best deal of the night. Now for my salad and bowl of soup I think was around $50+. I'm not afraid to spending money, but I can say you must be paying for the view, and I get it. But the overall price we paid. Idk. The service was a glaring issue, in which I think there were a total of maybe 10 tables that were taken in the whole restaurant. The server was nice enough, but not attentive at all. Now I'm not going to lie the birthday boy set up his dinner for 7pm on a Monday. We did not know that Ivars closed at 8....and no one even told us at any point. I get this was to be polite, but had we known we probably would have been out of there a lot earlier. We did end up leaving at 10 to 9, but probably could have been gone a lot earlier had anyone mentioned that they closed at 8 or we didn't have to wait for our bill for 20+ minutes. I did feel bad after knowing we stayed so late, but like I said there was a definite lack of communication. Also one last thing. Charging for the bread, I don't know if that's new, but seems rather silly to me. I feel like I'm being generous with the 4 star review, in actuality closer to 3.5, I just feel bad making them stay until after close.
